  1. haven't had an nvidia since the 8800gt :P
  2. Yes I am not talking about win10, I assumed he had vista or win7, cos that's what people interested in these old chronicles usually run. By the way why run win10? Just to be on the bleeding edge? Or is it about having the latest directx? Win7 SP1 is perfectly fine if you ask me, plus u dont have the M$ spying on you like on 10.
  3. very nice +1 PS: By scripts you mean the whole folder from a c4 pack? Would the postpacific release be ok? I never found the original c4 leaked files, and not sure if PPC modified or added any custom.
  4. Just rename rsaenh.dll from your system32 folder ( or WoW64 folder if on x64 OS ) and Prelude can load without problems, don't forget to change it back right after L2 starts tho. There are other ways u can load it too, like total commander etc. There's a good pack by smeli for loading old clients, can give u a link if you want it. Do u have the packs posted on this topic? If yes can u reupload them?
  5. very nice, also patched c0/c1/c2 system folders (Y)
  6. The link had Korean Classic servers too in case you didn't notice. Also, when people asked for classic, they wanted the old game, the old look, the old gameplay, not a watered-down version of GoD+, not +12 dyes, post chaotic chronicle skills and mechanics, and a 0.7x LOLPRELUDE exp rate WHICH NEVER EXISTED. Prelude had the same hardcoded npc exp rates as beta and c1, the only thing that made the xp a bit less was the mechanic that LOWERED YOUR EXP FOR EACH LEVEL YOU HAVE ABOVE THE MOB YOU JUST KILLED. Not that interlude or any other chronicle is balanced. Far from it, I just said that it can be tweaked and made right with few adjustments. People have been talking about those fixes on boards.lineage2.com and l2guru.com since the game went live and at each chronicle update. Admins are just too dense to understand and have zero vision to implement something like that. Players don't deserve it either, all they know is server hoping, rushing, and asking for (lol)retail experience, about which they don't even have a clue.
  7. I was joking of course ;) hope you didn't get my post the wrong way. People on this forum would even sell their mothers for cash, it was directed at greedy people, not u.
  8. δυστυχως κυριως για διαφημιση χρησιμοποιειται το forum, ο admin δεν πολυμπαινει και οι moderators ειναι για να πλακωνονται με αλλα μελη, πανω κατω.
  9. Classic will not replace anything, it's a bastardized version of Lineage2 and Lineage3(GoD+), leaning more towards the latter. Really badly designed class balance, with a more modern UI that doesn't even suit a classic client. They didn't bother to fix any issues of the past, just a downgrade of the current branch. It's not a coincidence that both versions share the same client files basically. Retail lineage feels like an l2j custom donate-heavy server since the big update in 2011. Not worth anyone's time, as most privates too. What is needed is people with knowledge and skills along with ideals and values to step up and deliver something fresh without thinking about it like a business. The problem is the free to play model doesn't work, you can see it on retail and on privates. Because it forces you to accept either direct donations for items or introduce a cash shop. Both of these mean gg for the server economy and pvp equilibrium. The only way is to go for a subscription model, but noone is willing to pay nowadays not even for official, let alone for a lolprivate. L2 is just dieing a (not so) slow death, the global online numbers can speak for themselves.
  10. Can someone reupload these please? The packs I found, don't have any cubic or backstab skill entries so they cant be Prelude, more like Open Beta, but the dates are all over the place, from mid 2003 to early 2004, and some files even 2010+.
  11. Thanks a lot for posting your personal stories, it gave me some hope that people with no "official" background were able to do it. But it may be also that you are really smart and not "average" like me hah. I tend to lose my concentration easily and also get strokes of anxiety when I'm feeling I'm swimming too deep (which is too often) that breaks my resolve. I guess I'll take it slowly from the start, finish reading K&R C book and start both C++ and x86 assembly after it, while searching for windows internals info from a high-level perspective. I'm thinking of documenting any progress here so others interested can follow along, some company would be extremely beneficial in this long struggle ahead. PS: Btw did you guys learn the tools (IDA/OLY/WINDBG) just by practice or read some guide/tut?
  12. Bumping this topic since I haven't heard anything from the big gurus of the forum. Please share some personal stories of how you started reversing, what knowledge you believe is good as a foundation for newbies, any good books, online courses or whatever you recommend. Anything to give me and anyone else looking for a way to get his feet wet some courage and hope. Or if there is no hope at all for someone who didn't go to Computer Science University, tell me the reasons for that too, I want to hear it. Till now I've been told you either know how to do it or you don't. Or other really vague things that haven't helped me at all to be honest. Advise people, advise, I don't ask you to hold my hand or give me skype 1:1 lessons for free. We need to get this place alive again, like 8-10 years ago, and for this more people need to learn to code in l2off. I am willing to share and document all my steps to help others like me as I go deeper but without anyone's help I don't know how long it's going to take me, or if I even make it to the end without giving up, struggling with depression at the same time. Please consider contributing and thanks for reading this post. I'll throw some tags here so people get to see this hopefully @Anarchy@mcbigmac@eressea@Phantasmo@tk422@CriticalError@Sighed
  13. Very nice tool, altho you can't really automate this procedure if you want a good result, you still have to manually tweak a lot of the quests to achieve balanced rewards in regards to quest time/difficulty. But gj nonetheless. Since this is not shared, you mean you are selling it then?
  14. oh, I see, very nice, thanks again for doing all that and making it public in the end without trying to auction it off in the marketplace like a true mxc member would do :D looking forward to seeing more stuff getting shared around!
  15. gj brother, I wish you the best and hope the project will reach high levels of maturity in the near future. It certainly brings a breath of fresh air to the L2 community and the fact that you do it out of passion & love will lift it up and make a difference in the end.
  16. There is an archive of postpacific shared by @smeli in there, haven't tried to import it in a database yet so untested but worth a try if you have a vb installation handy somewhere.
  17. Updated with 2 ISOs containing all the post SP2 hotfixes for both versions of WS2003 and a separate zip of the Postpacific backup of @smeli
  18. omg thank you so much I have been looking for something like this for a long time!
  19. there is no way I could have left your stuff out, you made the L2OFF community so much richer since you joined in :) you are right about the compiler, I'll just leave it be along with the others to be easier to find, deleting it from the shares mirror
  20. should be the l2.exe you would inject with this code. great stuff OP, hadn't seen this one.
  21. You can find all you need for l2off developing in that link
  22. Sharing about 50gb of stuff related to L2OFF developing. Some of those hard to find, others vanished off the internet. I want to make an archive of everything I can on this mega folder for historical and educational reasons. Some highlights include: Windows Server 2003 x86 & x64 with latest service pack and updates Windows Server 2008 x64 with latest service pack and updates SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 with the latest service packs and updates Visual Studio 2005 Professional with latest service pack and updates C1/C4 AI (de)compilers Unicode chat dlls fixed L2FileEdit to work with Grand Crusade Beta(?)/Prelude L2Server pack (not sure 100% which of the two) Postpacific forum archive This is a text listing of the whole thing at the moment: All the windows server/sql server/visual studio ISOs and EXEs are directly from M$DN or M$ Download Center. To the best of my knowledge they are untouched and completely genuine, you can check their SHA1 hash with online catalogs to be sure, but if you find something off, PM me and I will fix it. I tried to find VL (Volume License) versions of anything I could so that they will be 100% compatible with KMS activation tools. The correct order of installing is Application->Service Pack->Updates except if a specific update is needed for the SP to install, iirc the only case is VS2005 SP1 on Vista. There is a text file inside each folder for the serial if needed during install. There is also an activator on the root folder for the windows server OSs. If someone has anything else that would make a good addition to this pack, please PM me or post here so I can include it. I am particularly looking for old shares, like untouched leaks of Beta/C0/C1/C4 and anything pre-2010 that is inside broken links nowadays. PS: for archives that are password protected, the pass is inside the parentheses in the filename itself. Finally I have to say I take no credit for anything here, just sharing stuff. A big thanks to all the original sharers, I tried to give credit wherever possible, by putting the name inside brackets in the filenames. If someone feels they were not credited or wants their files removed message me to fix it.
  23. thread starter said interlude not h5
