  1. No, the //snoop command. It basically intercepts the chat messages of a player so gms could see what they are saying in game.
  2. Guys, I really don't care about legal talk. I will ignore it going forward. The next update will have: Proximity and party voice chat SSAO and DoF options A revamped Settings UI. Character Delete and Restore Handling Hero and Champion effects Duelling Recipes Petitions Snooping (never worked on the original IL; it was a feature completed later, but the packets exist)
  3. Are you a lawyer? Nope; nobody cares about your opinion. Move on with your life and let me handle the legal stuff.
  4. SSAO was in the game but was removed due to performance. I will revisit it. We have god rays and volumetric fog already (mind you, the god rays are a low-resolution screen-space radial effect, and fog volumes are unshadowed). It is something else I want to revisit, but I need to balance performance and quality. The only thing we haven't added is depth of field, which I might look into.
  5. That is fine; they can remain with NCSOFT. That doesn't change anything about Fermata's legality. If NCSOFT wants to sue me, they can. I have lawyers. End of legal talk.
  6. I am not distributing any of that. This is still their intellectual property. How do you think Dolphin and other emulators work? They know how to read a certain ROM file and emulate it. This is how Fermata works. I am not distributing any of their intellectual property or creating derivative works. People bring their own assets from their own L2 installations.
  7. No, it's not. Stop the spread of misinformation. Yeah, it's much better. There are still things to improve ofc. I am not "adding" anything since this isn't "running" the original client. The L2 client is untouched.
  8. New Release Video Play in your browser Fermata is now available as an experimental hosted browser preview for current desktop versions of Chrome and Edge. Choose your own Interlude client folder and start playing without installing Fermata. The original client files remain on your device and are read locally for the current session. The browser preview includes keyboard and mouse controls, audio, clipboard support, the complete login flow, character selection, and world gameplay. Parties and Command Channels Party support has been completed across the client. The new party experience includes: Full and compact party member views Character portraits and class icons Party leader indicators CP, HP, and MP values Buff and debuff display modes Party member map and minimap markers Configurable item distribution Party invitations, removal, leaving, and leader changes Assist and targeting controls Party Matching is also available with: Location and level filters Room browsing and paging Room creation and automatic joining Waiting player lists Room chat Member roles and owner controls Invitations from the waiting list Configurable room limits and item distribution Command Channels now support invitations, party and member overviews, member targeting, party removal, leaving, and owner controls. Macros The original macro system has been restored. Players can create up to 24 character macros, each containing up to 12 command rows. Macros support: Chat text and slash commands Active skills Actions and social actions Item shortcuts References to existing shortcut-bar slots Custom icons, names, acronyms, and descriptions Dragging macros onto shortcut bars Editing and deletion from the macro window The original macro help and command reference Open the macro window with Alt+R, Option+R on macOS, or through the System menu. Skills, dyes, and Seven Signs Skill trainers now provide the original skill list and explanation views for normal, fishing, and clan skills. The trainer interface displays: Active, passive, magic, song, and dance classifications Current and next skill levels SP or clan reputation costs Required items Skill descriptions and requirements Active and passive skills also appear in the Character Status window. Active skills can be used directly or dragged onto a shortcut bar. Symbol makers now support drawing and removing dyes. Players can review the Adena fee and resulting base abilities before confirming. Equipped symbols appear in the inventory with their original names and descriptions. The Seven Signs Record window has also been restored. It includes the current cycle and contribution, Festival results, seal ownership, and projected results. Linked items and status effects Hold Shift and click an inventory item to insert it into chat as a linked icon and name. A message can contain up to four linked items. Linked items provide the same detailed tooltip as the inventory, including: Stack quantity Enchantment Grade Description Set information Augmentation details The recipient's local arrival time The server verifies item ownership and supplies the displayed item information. Players using clients without linked-item support still receive the message and the verified item name as ordinary chat. The abnormal-status display has also been expanded. Buffs, debuffs, toggles, potion effects, and other statuses are organized into separate rows. Removable buffs can be dismissed with Alt or Option plus click, or through the right-click removal menu. Movement and world behavior Optional click-to-move pathfinding is now available in the settings window. When enabled, Fermata can: Navigate around walls and other obstacles Follow routes across connected terrain Replan when a route becomes blocked Approach targets for attacks, skills, conversations, item pickup, and following Maintain clearance around corners and narrow obstacles Pathfinding is disabled by default. Turning it off preserves classic straight-line click-to-move behavior. The free-flight camera travel-speed range now reaches 200 percent. World time and skies now follow the connected server by default, including sunrise, sunset, Seven Signs skies, and temporary red-sky events. An optional Time and Sky override remains available for players who want manual control. Rendering and atmosphere A new Global Fog setting offers three modes: Off disables global distance atmosphere while leaving placed fog volumes available. Fast uses Fermata's established height and distance fog. Fancy adds an organic, weather-driven fog layer that can react to wind, clouds, rain, snow, sunlight, lamps, torches, and other local lights. Fancy fog is optional because it requires more graphics processing. Authored sky lens flares have also been restored. The nine-element flare follows the sun and fades naturally behind terrain and buildings. Skill particles can now cast colored light onto characters, terrain, and fog. Skill effect lighting can be switched off independently without hiding the underlying particles. Additional visual fidelity improvements include: Restored authored character and creature sizes Restored time-dependent world lightmaps Restored additional world surfaces Correct authored attack variations Correct weapon, shield, and projectile size, pivot, and rotation Improved skill and NPC names and descriptions More accurate equipment changes without rebuilding unchanged character parts Audio and interface Authored environmental audio has been expanded across the world. Wind, water, wildlife, settlements, day and night schedules, and underwater states now follow their intended locations and conditions. The audio settings now provide separate controls for: Sound effects Music System voice Tutorial voice Master mute The System menu can now open the Macro and Options windows. NPC dialog pages display their supplied page title when available, while untitled conversations use the localized Chat caption. Authoring tools Windows and macOS builds now include the complete Map and Normal-map editors. The Map Editor supports: Placing static-mesh props Moving, rotating, and scaling objects Hiding original map objects Multi-selection Undo, redo, copy, paste, and duplicate Grid, angle, ground, and surface snapping Portable prop and combined scene presets Persistent personal map overrides The Normal-map Editor can select textures from the world or package browser and preview relief under live lighting. The Light Editor has been expanded with: Persistent personal lighting overrides Fog-volume and light-particle controls Emissive-material painting and preview Reusable model-light authoring Portable import and export presets A new Skill Effect Editor can search skills and effect classes, play individual stages or full sequences, and preview lighting, particle color, emitter tuning, fades, offsets, and action-specific overrides. FermaAI remains development-only and is not included in deployed release builds. Performance and fixes Crowded scenes now require fewer draw submissions and less repeated animation work. Character and NPC processing scales more efficiently in populated towns, large parties, and other busy areas. Additional improvements include: Smoother remote movement under load Faster character and NPC animation processing Reduced frame-time and allocation overhead More efficient nameplate, targeting, grounding, and equipment updates Wind changes no longer briefly accelerate water waves or drifting fog More reliable video-recording startup on macOS More reliable world entry when optional server information is unavailable Improved window stacking, dragging, and focus behavior Bug fixes and stability. 9. It will be multi client so it will detect the client from the files and adapt the packets and asset loading. I am aiming for C4 and H5 after IL
  10. Fermata now runs in a web browser too. Try it here: https://web.fermata.gg/
  11. New Release Video demo: Platforms & recording Fermata is now available as an experimental Android preview for ARM64 devices running Android 13 or newer with Vulkan support. Players can import their own Interlude client from a ZIP or folder, configure their server, and play without modifying the source files. Android now has a dedicated mobile control profile with: A floating movement joystick Direct camera orbit and pinch zoom Camera-focused smart targeting A rotating shortcut selector A mobile HUD and compact window controls An optional Classic control profile Built-in video recording has also arrived on Windows and macOS. Press Shift+Alt+R, or Shift+Option+R on macOS, to open the recorder. Recordings support H.264 and HEVC, Native to 720p resolution, 30 or 60 FPS, configurable quality, game audio, and music. Recording continues across login, character selection, teleports, and window resizing. The recorder controls are excluded from the finished video, while the Fermata watermark is added directly to the MP4. Friends, chat & private stores The complete Interlude friends system is now implemented, including: Online and offline status Friend invitations Adding and removing friends Direct conversations Incoming-message notifications /friendlist Alt/Option+Y access The original blocking commands now work, including /block, /unblock, /blocklist, /allblock, and /allunblock. Private stores are now fully supported. Players can create sell, package-sale, and buy stores, configure their listings and message, receive abnormal-price warnings, and trade through another player's store. Active stores display their original-style sign and message above the seated character. Find Private Store is available from the Actions tab or through /findprivatestore. Entering part of a store message highlights matching store signs in green without contacting the server. Inventory & paperdoll The inventory has been completely remastered into a wider framed-doll layout with a ten-by-eight item grid and separate All, Weapon, Armor, Jewelry, Etc, and Quest tabs. The paperdoll now displays your complete live 3D character with equipped armor, weapons, enchant shells, and weapon enchant effects. Drag to rotate, use the wheel to zoom, and double-click to reset the view. Inventory improvements Holding Alt or Option over an equipment slot opens a quick-swap list containing every compatible item in your inventory. Items are ordered by enchantment, grade, and name, and can be equipped with one click. Dropping inventory items onto the ground has been restored. Drag an item outside the window and confirm the drop, with quantity selection for stackable items. Ground items now use their correct fall, landing, and sparkle effects. World, atmosphere & materials Volumetric fog volumes have been added. Authored banks of mist can drift with the wind, react to weather and time of day, and receive illumination from nearby lamps, torches, and other lights. Half and Full quality modes are available. Water has received a major presentation remaster. Lakes, rivers, wet ground, and puddles now mirror the sky and display a long HDR sun reflection at low angles. Half and Full reflection modes also mirror nearby terrain, trees, buildings, and shorelines. Off mode retains the sky reflection. A new light-particle system supports fireflies, embers, and drifting motes. The brightest particles become small moving light sources that illuminate the ground and nearby fog. Fog volumes and light-particle swarms can be placed through the Shift+Alt+L light editor. Lighting & material improvements Normal-map support has been added for authored stone, wood, terrain, buildings, and other world materials. Supported surfaces gain light-reactive relief, with controls for enabling the effect and adjusting its strength. Enhanced lighting now has smoother transitions, more accurate flame illumination, and additional remastered emissive surfaces across Giran and manor structures. Movement, characters & polish Corrected Strider and Wyvern rider placement, mounted animations, camera height, and nameplate positioning. Fixed Strider transparency and depth rendering so body parts no longer appear hollow or visible through themselves. NPCs now turn smoothly towards the local player when opening a conversation. Improved snowfall with denser flakes, wind-driven descent, varied flake sizes, and flakes that briefly settle before melting. Sounds produced by your own character remain at a stable volume regardless of camera distance. The O key once again starts typing in chat like every other unbound letter. Additional bug fixes and stability improvements. Documentation Fermata now has complete documentation covering installation, controls, settings, rendering, weather, interfaces, supported gameplay, server configuration, and troubleshooting. Documentation is available in English, Greek, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Ukrainian at https://fermata.gg/docs. Download from the launcher you have installed, or at https://fermata.gg/ if you don't have the launcher.
  12. Very easy, in fact you won't need a different client. it can be used for both IL and H5
  13. I was already working on it before the release today. I’m implementing a few approaches to test them out.
  14. The Android app of Fermata has been released at https://updates.fermata.gg/ You will need a folder with the Interlude client files on your Android device and an accessible server on the network. You can then connect and play L2 from your Android device. I am planning to do a lot of mobile optimizations to make it easier to play. Enjoy!
  15. Fermata running on Android. All visual glitches are fixable.
  16. New Release World & atmosphere A complete dynamic weather system has arrived, with Clear, Light Rain, Rain, Heavy Rain, Storm, Snow, and Windy presets. Rain and snow react to roofs, wind moves foliage, lightning illuminates storms, exposed ground becomes wet and develops puddles, and snow builds up and melts over time. Weather includes Low to Ultra quality levels and advanced controls for precipitation, wind, cloud cover, lightning, surface wetness, puddles, and snow. The game server can also select or restore the current weather while local quality settings continue to control rendering cost. The weather can be controlled from the server with custom packets. For more details use Shift+Alt+P. Enhanced lighting now allows authored lamps, fires, and other light sources to illuminate towns and interiors. Lights can pulse, flicker, blink, and strobe, flames produce warm dynamic light, and lamps display depth-aware halos. Remastered emissive surfaces are now supported, beginning with illuminated windows in Giran that glow and cast light into their surroundings. Broadcasting Towers now use their correct original scale and animated rings and glow effects. Map, quests & navigation A complete quest journal has been added, with active and completed quests, expandable stages, descriptions, requirements, item progress, quest inventory integration, location controls, and quest cancellation. Server-opened town maps now display their original artwork and the supplied player marker. Shops, storage & items Personal, clan, castle, and freight warehouses now work, including deposits, withdrawals, stack quantities, fees, weight and capacity previews, tooltips, and the original warning and empty-storage dialogs. Account freight now works through the original recipient picker and delivery window, allowing items to be sent to another character on the same account. Multisell exchanges now work, with paged recipe lists, product details, required materials, quantity selection, warnings, and server-backed completion. Manor seed purchasing is now supported through the shop interface, including availability and pricing. Inventory items can now be dragged to the trash button and destroyed after the appropriate warning or quantity prompt. The original in-game calculator now works with mouse and keyboard input. Community The Community Board is now available from the system menu or Alt+B, with Home, Favorites, Region, Clan, Memo, Mail, and Friends sections, retained navigation, forms, scrolling, minimization, and server-provided pages. Characters, cameras & events Striders and Wyverns now render as fully animated mounts with the rider attached correctly. Striders remain ground-based, while Wyverns support three-dimensional flight. Characters now enter a proper falling state after high drops or airborne dismounts, with falling animations and server-authoritative landing and fall-damage handling. Players can now sit on authored world chairs using the correct sit, wait, and stand animations. Server-driven special camera sequences now work, including target tracking, interpolation, duration, widescreen bars, and restoration to the normal camera. GM camera mode and server-authorized ///fly movement are now supported. The original 102-second Kamael teaser sequence has been restored with its complete slideshow, transitions, panning artwork, localized subtitles, and narration. Hats, masks, circlets, and other hair accessories now use their authored head placement and correctly adjust the character's hairstyle. Timed server confirmation dialogs, short-duration status effects, regeneration previews, and the seasonal Christmas Seal presentation are now supported. Interface & performance Character creation has been refined with corrected description wrapping, clipping, layout, and name-entry presentation. Tutorial and NPC dialog windows now use polished proportional scrollbars, improved HTML layout, and correctly sized illustrations and controls. A new independent 3D render-resolution setting offers Native, 720p, 900p, 1080p, 1440p, and 4K choices while keeping the window, HUD, text, and FermaUI at native resolution. Major rendering optimizations reduce unnecessary work in local lighting, shadows, visibility, exposure, bloom, post-processing, and GPU diagnostics. Download from the launcher you have installed, or at https://updates.fermata.gg/ if you don't have the launcher. Fermata Light Engine Preview All lights can be baked in the client, shipped to the users, and exported and imported as .femlight files.
