well well, here we are again. in over 20 years of L2 ive seen my share of promising L2 server that crapped out. ill be watching this closely. seems i still have hope, maybe more nostalgia than anything but regardless, please show everyone that L2 isnt all about the $$$ and can still be enjoyed because of a good and solid community. although i have my doubts i hope you prove me wrong. all the best 🙂

In my opinion, L2 is dead because the people who make servers didn’t adapt to today’s reality. People are getting older, life moves faster, there are more responsibilities, and less free time. And I’m not even talking about newcomers—how can you expect someone new to this game to learn by Googling every drop location or quest requirement? These things should’ve been integrated into the game, made accessible with just a few clicks through the interface.

Instead, so much time was wasted trying to recreate retail-like features that no one asked for. Everyone hates autofarm, but why? Because admins never found a smart way to implement it. You could have made it available only in specific zones, with reduced drops, working like Adrenaline, or auto-teleporting to farm for a limited time per day—just enough to help people with limited time stay relevant in-game.

There should also be zones with better drops, where active farming actually matters. Other features feel pointless—like the Life Stone system. Spamming LS to get a skill? Instead, you could create a system where you level up the skill with low chances per level, something that feels progressive and fair.

Crafting should be simpler too. Right-click a recipe, and the required materials should show up right there.

As for sieges, why not create daily clan war events at peak hours—one for Europeans, one for Latinos? You could spawn crystals inside or outside castles that give points and trigger PvP. Add a boss during the event that gives even more points, and let the top clan in the ranking take the castle.

I could go on forever, but what’s the point? The community died because the people who had the knowledge to improve the game just took the easy way out, copying the same server formula over and over until no one could enjoy playing it anymore.

It's also the players' fault, because there have been decent servers implementing some of the things you said plus some other 'innovations', plus many QOL things for newbies (ingame bestiary, with drops searchers, etc).

In the end, it's the players who decide to feed into that shit and play the most garbage servers simply because the owners of the servers gave their clan leaders 100 euros, or they insta quit the server because they didn't win the first QA, etc, etc, etc.

In the end, if a server is garbage or great it doesn't really matter if the players don't wanna stay in there.

Players are no better than the devs themselves, in the end it seems there are abusive devs who will milk the shit out of their willingly milkable players, or there are none, goes both ways.

I agree with you, but the milking was out of control. Players just don’t trust anymore. You log into a new server and suddenly need 20 euros just to be somewhat playable. There’s no environment for solo players to enjoy the game, progress, and naturally find friends or form parties.

Most of the people who make servers have either never played the game seriously, or if they did, it was so long ago that they’ve completely lost touch with the player experience.

Server dont need good files... need good community 😉

L2mid have best pts files and now on start have 50-100 online

People really like my server. But whenever someone mentions L2Mid, the haters show up and start throwing shits 🙂 I can't really say much about the 50–100 online players. I’m thinking of giving L2Mid a try later this yearif anyone’s interested, let’s keep it positive.

My opinion all this topic seems like a big balls drama , i see a man that maybe has been vanished for more than 13+ years from this forum, bring a big and strong challenge, more than the current official files itself..... , any ways good luck with 13+ years old rubbish new generation l2community.

Hey everyone, as we all know, this forum’s been dead for ages, and despite my efforts, it’s still dead. Maxtor’s got everything up his bloody arse; he’s off enjoying some sort of dick-sucking festival. Anyway, I was asked to share the latest updates about the project, so here I am: after some recent chats, the project’s moved on to the next stage, and we’ll soon be opening registration for closed testing.

Small hints: Arena, x200, 1+1.

I’ll post more details and the website address soon.

PS I’m just a representative and a good mate of the people behind the project. From the old crew, I’m the only one who still remembers the password to this graveyard, so I’m just posting the updates here. Please don’t drag me into any drama again.

I'm sorry for the graveyard digging.. As a good mate, I just had to copy/paste a message, remember I'm just the messenger, NOT ADMIN, NOT GM, and quickly to the topic:

- project is in it's final stages
- staff recruitment shall begin shortly (non fluent english speakers fuck off)
- thank you for the understanding

The end.

    • ## [1.5.5] - 2026-02-02   ### ✨ New Features - **Discord Login**: You can now sign in with your Discord account. Admins enable and configure Discord login in **cpadmin → Users** (Discord auth settings: Client ID, Client Secret, Redirect URI). If you already have an account with the same email (e.g. forum, Google, or legacy), signing in with Discord links to that account so you keep one profile. Discord login is available on Add Server, My Servers, Vote page, and Premium Ads booking. - **Setup Links**: In **cpadmin → Users**, both Google and Discord login settings now include direct links to their official developer portals (Google Cloud Console and Discord Developer Portal) for easier OAuth app setup.   ### 🔒 Security - **Email Required for Registration**: New user registration via OAuth (Forum, Google, Discord) now requires a valid email address. If the OAuth provider doesn't provide an email (e.g. unverified Discord email), registration is rejected with a clear message. This prevents anonymous accounts and ensures all users can receive important notifications.   ### 🔄 Improvements - **User Auth Badges**: In **cpadmin → Users**, the Registered Members table now shows auth method badges: **Forum**, **Google**, **Discord**, or **Legacy**. Users can have multiple badges if they've linked multiple login methods. - **Server Info Labels**: Translated server info labels (Owner Name, Language, Server Location) are now properly localized in all 5 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Russian).   ---   ## [1.5.4] - 2026-02-01   ### ✨ New Features - **Google Login**: You can now sign in with your Google account. Admins enable and configure Google login in **cpadmin → Users** (Google auth settings: Client ID, Client Secret, Redirect URI). If you already have an account with the same email (e.g. forum or legacy), signing in with Google links to that account so you keep one profile. The login menu (navbar and login prompts) offers **Login with Forum Account**, **Login with Google** (when enabled), and **Create Forum Account**. Google login is available on Add Server, My Servers, Profile Settings, Vote page, and Premium Ads booking. - **Ban/Unban Members**: In **cpadmin → Users**, admins can ban or unban registered members. Banned users see a full-page message: "Sorry, you are banned from using this site." When a user is banned, all their servers are set to inactive. - **Moderator Activity Log**: **cpadmin → Moderators** now records when a moderator or admin enters the CPAdmin panel (e.g. "Moderator X entered CPAdmin panel at <time>") and when they change any cpadmin settings (only write actions are logged; read-only use is not). - **Clear Moderator Logs**: Admins can clear all moderator activity log entries via a **Clear logs** button with confirmation. Logs are shown at 100 per page with pagination. - **Filter by Moderator**: In the Moderator Activity Log, a **Filter by moderator** dropdown lets you view activity for a specific moderator or "All moderators." - **cpadmin → Users Tab**: New **Users** tab in the admin panel with Registered Members list (paginated), Google auth settings card, and per-user Ban/Unban and server links.   ### 🔄 Improvements - **cpadmin → Servers**: Each server name in the servers table is now clickable and opens that server’s info page. - **cpadmin → Users – Servers column**: The servers count/list is clickable and opens a small modal listing that user’s servers; each server name in the modal links to the server info page. - **cpadmin → Users – Search**: A search bar above the Registered Members table lets you search by **username**, **email**, or **server name**. Results are filtered on the server (paginated); clearing the search resets the list. - **Moderator Activity Log**: Pagination shows "Showing X–Y of Z" and "Page N of M" with Previous/Next when there are more than 100 entries. - **Login UI**: Login options (Forum, Google, Create account) are shown in a consistent dropdown and in modals (Add Server, My Servers, Vote, Premium Ads) for a clearer sign-in experience. - **Vote Page – Unauthenticated**: When you must log in to vote, the page now shows "Vote for [Server Name]" as the main heading and presents login options in a compact section.   ---   ## [1.5.3] - 2026-01-30   ### ✨ New Features - **File Logs in Admin Panel**: Admins can now view CodeIgniter PHP logs (api/writable/logs) directly in **cpadmin → Logs**. Select a date to view the log file, refresh to reload, or delete all log files to free up space.   ### 🔄 Improvements - **Cache System**: Full cache audit and improvements — when you clear cache in cpadmin, both backend and frontend caches are cleared. Server listings, My Servers, pricing, ad config, and chronicles all refresh with fresh data. New paid servers now appear in listings and My Servers immediately. - **Admin Panel – Server Rates**: Server rates in the admin servers table now display in compact format (e.g. x10000 → x10k, x100000 → x100k, x1000000 → x1m) for easier scanning. Hover to see the full value.
