You can tell L2J from L2OFF by simply how fast the tutorial quest pops up when you login first time in the game. L2J takes several seconds when L2OFF is almost instant.

The official servers were developed with bots in mind, you cant just prohibit them and expect the server to be healthy. They implemented "trickery" in the game mechanics like for example the monsters in Cata and Necros having an ultimate defense skill to make it "harder" for bots among other things like instanced multi phase boss battles etc. Now how effective that is i dont know, probably very little. Its also why they made built in bots in recent versions of the game. Stopping bots is an uphill battle, i guess it could be for donations or because the "Guard" and "Anti-Cheat" guys formed a cartel to make admins give them money for things that dont work for very long. I wouldnt be surprised the same people that sell these "protections" are the same that make the bot programs. Dont forget back in the day all servers were full of bots but had thousands of players and lasted for a lot more than these "huur duur no bots in my servidor" 6 month at best servers.

You really dont need to change a lot of things these days, considering how beefy hosting servers have become as long as you give the gameserver enough memory to fill overtime you will be fine.

imo the best solution is to do it all via bank transfers, open a bank account just for this nonsense and have peace of mind.

Not all packs have this but theres a config option to allow only specific items to be used during olympiad. Its been part of l2jserver since 10 years or so ago.

As far as i remember for some reason you can only login via lan OR wan theres no option for both like all the other packs.

If its just for testing, use hetzner cloud servers.

FYI most people hated those skills when they were added to a lot of other races on High Five.

Learning everything on your own is a vital part of the endeavor even if you end up hiring someone else to put the server together. Spend a few weeks researching before you decide to start.

If they offer decent services and are transparent in their money making methods people will be more willing to spend money on them. Sites like hopzone and topzone have gone completely pay 2 win. In the surface you can still get your server listed for free (if they allow you to) but then, free servers are getting buried by the paying ones on the front page. Also have you noticed how they have made it more difficult to search by rates or version? All done so that you have to stay longer on the front page and click on the "premium" servers instead of finding a smaller and potentially more interesting server by searching. Its also why all server these days are the same mid-rate copy pasted crap.

From my understanding they have started treating the official servers like private servers. They are making different rates and gameplay system servers in the hopes something will stick, its also a way they can make a quick buck by using fomo methods. To me it looks like desperation to keep the game relevant and profitable. Imo they should just shut it down and start working on a true L2 successor not that isometric or mobile crap they have been teasing for years now. If games like New World and Ashes of Creation is any indication theres still a market for big open world sandbox mmorpgs.

The last few years i have checked out more servers via facebook ads or word of mouth than going into a topsite. Unless we get a transparent topsite without unreasonable listing rules and pay 2 win then maybe things will become better.

L2JServer, Mobius or aCis, pick your poison. With fully paid packs you run the risk of having backdoors and other shenanigans since most dont even give you sources. Here is my user experience with the packs i mentioned. - L2JServer They only offer support for High Five(and Interlude to a lesser capacity). The team is smaller now and there arent many contributors like back in the day so development is slower. However despite all that its very well coded and maintained despite all the flaws which are mainly missing features. - Mobius Its the most complete in terms of features of the freely available packs out there and it offers a wide range of game versions(From C1 to Essense). Its good enough to open a server imo but dont expect the best support unless you contribute or buy access. - aCis This is the one ive had the least experience with but looking at how its going and how @Tryskellinteracts with the community i can say its the best all around pack out there for Interlude even though its a pretty basic one(not a lot of configuration options). If you know how to code whichever you pick of these you cant go wrong imo. Conclusion and summary The freemium packs like Mobius and aCis suffer a bit from gatekeeping, you will get a lot of shit in support if you are a free user and dont contribute. L2JServer has slow support but at least people are more willing to help you out when they do.

Honestly even before hopzone got sold it wasnt managed very well, the support was unreasonable at best. For example they kept refusing new servers because of previous listings, even though the servers were unrelated to each other and 5+ years apart.

That requires further changes to how Epic Raids spawn but at least i can help you with tips to at least make it so it spawn in 4 days. 4 days is 96 hours. If you want the boss to spawn at exactly 4 days after its killed you set Interval at 95 hours RandomSpawn at 1 hour
