What are you even talking about? Fake players and phantom engines have been in the game since 2013 at the very minimum. You didn'tinvent anything and you weren't a catalyst for any of my shares.

I did Roboto because I wanted to make a fake player engine and I did Autobots because of StinkyMadness and that's the story.

I really can't understand what you're saying here. Do you think that L2 AI needs Finite state machines or Behavior trees to be good? (I am sure you need to google this one so take your time).

If from 2013-2018 you had 0 improvement then it is safe to assume that 2018-2021 is equally uneventful :)

I never said i invent i said that my engine and the "A.I." dear god whenever we use this word as if we have any autonomous real A.I. but anyways. as i mentioned i never claimed to say i invented, i said the state i left my engine was one of the greatest for that year. Yours simply have better functionality, implementation and html design.

And just to see that i'm not ashamed of my self Elfo, back when i was writing this code i asked you for guidance and for your opinion as you asked me to take my engine (via payment) for base engine which afcourse i declined and i offered you for free but later your ego ended up in a conclusion that you would spent more time "fixing" my code than implement yours.

So talk for my past not for my codes now cause you haven't seen any. If you have any doubts about my skills you can write me in discord and discuss in private. So next time you attack me because i participate in a troll topic think of your self how you started and how many projects you left.

There is a reason everyone laughed when you opened a topic and you claim you started a project.

Wait a second, because I thought that you were trolling.

Are you saying that my code is bad because it doesn't have comments?

no i say your thinking is flowed "code must talk by its self" its something against my thinking since commenting code is a "must" for me.

Not a single person laughs when I'm starting a topic. They just click the link and download :)

I give you that you might be a bitch but that was a good phrase.

@Nightw0lfWait now you fight with him because he don't use comments? I don't use comments either :/ I mean yes Elfocrash's codes sometimes are a joke but the fact that he skip comments make him bad developer?

Understanding skipping catch messages it has impact in debugging but comments in code?

If your code needs comments, then rewrite it because it's bad

see you assume i am a bad coder based on a language you seen me write for hobby not professionally, and you think that comments mean unreadable code, and judge it as bad without even seen it :) and trust me that i can safely say that my code in my main language is leveling you easy.

i've seen atleast all of his projects shared with empty catches and NPE's in a language that i do for hobby, let him be a diva.

yes sorry plus i believe your perfectionism and correcting your code 100 just cause you dont like it is your doom as developer :lied:

I don't think I've ever seen any of your codes so I don't judge you on that. I judge you purely on the fact that you think comments are a must because it tells me 2 things, which apply for every single language including PHP.

  1. Your methods/variables/arguments are names so poorly that you need comments to tell me that they are
  2. Your methods are written so poorly that you need comments to tell me what they do

Write better, self documenting code and you won't need comments. (TODOs and method summaries are not comments)

when in most common languages a single .split is in php explode and most of cases are not making sense on that language you cannot write code that can be readable its a language issue

i always improve

Our discussion is over conclusion you got catchy phrases and your codes are badly written, end of story.

Stop answering to Elfo he has pod cast episode in 10 minute.

Answer in my question. You really believe you need to write down comments on top of each line you write? I mean L2J did that and in some part is useful (i guess?) but when 50% of code is green it's simply annoying.

P.S. I'm sorry i dare to talk for your project Zoey76 may i rot in hell. I'm your biggest fan.

P.S.2. you've seen my codes and i'm pretty sure i can post some lines here. The variable name and method name i use are so clear and perfect that just by watching you feel you know Java. So what's the need of comment?

literally not cant make more than 30% in java since code can talk by self but non commented at all and placing the GNU at top is funny the least

It's not his project, he's a maintainer.

    • Good afternoon, gentlemen. I’d like to ask a question to those who know their stuff — and just get some advice. Let me start with the main point. I want to try learning Java. Just for myself — I simply like programming, and it’s a small hobby of mine. Though, perhaps it’s too early to say I really like Java, since I don’t actually know it well yet. I’ll get straight to the point. Back in my youth, like many others, I played Lineage 2. Later, I became interested in creating servers and even made my own — we had around 70 players, all schoolkids like me. I learned how to install builds, add NPCs and various add-ons “from the internet” back then. But my attempts to create my own Lineage 2 additions in Java almost always failed. At best, I could slightly modify ready-made code, but not write anything from scratch. My interest in Lineage 2 and Java has stayed with me to this day. For me, it’s a creative process — a favorite game where you can build your own “sandbox.” I’d really like to hear from the community about where you started. In your opinion, what’s the best way to learn Java using Lineage 2 as an example? I don’t have a clear learning plan — and that’s probably the problem. I’ve tried reading Schildt’s book, and I’ve also tried studying Java source codes of various server builds by poking around to understand how the server works and how programs are written. I can’t say I understand nothing — I do get some things, and I believe I have a knack for it. But it’s not systematic. Maybe I really do need advice from more experienced people, to find a strategy that’s both effective for learning Java and interesting because it’s connected to Lineage 2 — not just writing abstract programs “for nothing.” In Lineage 2, you can see the result right away — and I get genuinely happy even from small successes. So here’s the main point: I’d like to know where you started. Is it even worth combining Java and Lineage 2? Recently, ChatGPT has been a huge help — thanks to it, I’ve made some progress and started to understand the server structure at least a little. But there’s one issue: if I just copy and paste, the result works — but without ChatGPT, I can’t reproduce it on my own. I’ve been working with PwSoft source files — I think many people know them. Why exactly them? I can’t really say — probably because there are lots of ready-made add-ons for this build online, and I originally focused more on modifying existing code than writing my own. I worked with PwSoft for a long time. Then, on ChatGPT’s advice, I switched to aCis — it’s cleaner, more minimalistic, without unnecessary “clutter.” It’s easier to understand where everything is located. I installed the aCis sources, everything compiles fine, but… if in PwSoft I could at least navigate the code and write simple methods, in aCis I couldn’t even make a basic NPC that gives noblesse for adena. That’s why I decided to write this post — just to talk about learning Java through Lineage 2, to hear your opinions, your stories, your approaches. Maybe someone will say: “Don’t bother, it’s a waste of time.” I’ll accept those answers too. But I’d still like to hear different perspectives. If you can, please recommend good video courses on Java that would help me learn faster and in a more structured way. To repeat: this is something from my childhood that I never finished. My job is stable now, and I have time — at least sometimes. I can work on this calmly, as long as my learning goes in the right direction. I think you get it: this is something “for the soul,” and I really want to grow in it. Thanks to everyone who read to the end. I really appreciate any advice. And if someone is open to chatting privately or by voice — I’d gladly talk, and I’m happy to “buy a beer” for a constructive conversation. Peace to everyone!
