I am surprised no one mentioned this game here. http://blacklight.perfectworld.com Whilst PerfectWorld is notorious for making shitty F2P games, Blacklight:Retribution, developed by Zombie Studios, is flat out awesome. It's a free to play first person shooter with fast paced gameplay and many strategic elements, at the core of which is the legitimate "wallhack" - Hyper Reality Visor, or HRV. You can deploy freaking mech Hardsuits - or defeat them with flamethrowers and burn out the pilot, or rocket their ass to Mars. *VERY high level of customization. Plenty of elements that allow you to create the character YOU want to play. Whether you want to be an assault soldier or medic, or engineer, or a tactician, sniper, defender, even freaking invisible predator sh1t. *Gun parts interchangable - build your own gun. Craploads of gun parts. *Ingame combat kiosk - Refill health/ammo, flamethrower, rocketlauncher, giant robots and further unlockable stuff for a complete SMASHING arsenal. *Variety of gamemodes - along side typical DM and TDM - Domination,KOTH,CTF, Netwar, Kill confirmed and upcoming Siege. *LEVEL UP WOWOWZOR *Dubstep and fingerswagging at the end of the match! *Welcomes new players - each level up you are given 3day rented unloackables for that particular level (check your ingame mails and inventory) *It looks awesome - up to par with modern games, utilizing Unreal 3 engine. [Notes] - Many players come to this game, lose a couple of matches and call this game Pay 2 Win. This is false. Almost everything is accessible with ingame currency permanently, other stuff for rent only. But you do not have to spend a cent/pence/whatever you stoneage people pay with. I am level 35 personally and the only thing you cannot buy in this game with ingame currency is weapon and armor camos. Plus there are free offers when signing up to netflix (equivalent of ~$10 of ingame currency) - There are issue with gameplay. That being said, the game is constantly updated. - It is very fast paced. It takes only 4 bullets to kill standard builds with standard guns. - Standard equip is good and will last you through the whole game. - Levels only unlock new items. Nothing more. Higher level players are not necessarily better/stronger. - At low levels there aren't many parts. But there are premades which use high level gun parts, and they cost about 2 matches worth of GP (ingame currency). - It is a great game. Unique and innovative. Instead of flashbangs you throw BSOD grenades, instead of smokescreens - pixel grenades that pixelate an area. It feels fresh, new and modern. Get it on Steam or on the website for free. - this isn't a trailer, but it portrays the game very well. The video is from beta, so the UI is a bit more informative and user friendly and detailed.

ATM? Low player count, unfinished. It's gonna change anyway. Copyleft did say he was going to do more things right...?

SkirmishPvP. Live server is soon to be wiped I think. There is a test server where they are testing stuff. Currently not worth playing, but keep an eye out. It's exactly what you want.

[New server] Starting a new project, need team/Devs [L2J]
sandpants replied to Kuntz's topic in Private Servers
Frankly, testing every existing thing from 6 chronicles ago which was added -beep-ing half a decade ago is not what it takes to make a good server. Balance is no less important than "other important stuff". Why "other important stuff" is so generic? Do you even comprehend what "other important stuff" you might need to do? You want to gather "professional and dedicated staff" and dedicate yourselves towards what? DBs dealing 800 dmg on full buff? Glads doing 1k tss? Making custom currency? Making Giran main town? TvT event? +16 max/+3 safe? Further more, this game's ages left only people who care only about their own perspective. For every person you recruit there will be 2 ideas of "balance" and 5 other ideas of "perfect server". My only friendly advice is to do it alone or in a group of close friends who share passion for your ideas. My non friendly advice is to GTFO, cos you really only HOPE to do something. Buying a machine, setting it up - no sweat. After that it's just leech L2j and change config/datapack. A more serious advice, seeing as you ARE asking for help - don't do ANYTHING everyone else has ALREADY done. For the last 5 years. Really. This guy here: http://www.skirmishpvp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=499 - is doing work. Hope to see your ideas in the ... foreseeable future. -

Lineage3 Stolen Project, now calling Tera.
sandpants replied to TheVortex's topic in General Discussion [English]
But duuuh they stole files why make topic with misleading title and then go on about random crap. -
...hmmm? The hell did you do? Did you follow instructions on L2jserver? If not you don't deserve help. It's pretty easy. You have to launch eclipse, set it up (plugins, subversions, connect to SVN repositories, etc), checkout the source (both server and datapack). Then you must right click build.xml in eclipse package/source viewer and do "ant build". It will the compile the source.

Lineage3 Stolen Project, now calling Tera.

Dont even bother here. It is however similar to Lineage Eternal in terms of combat. It's just that TERA is 3rd person free cam and LE is isometric. That's pretty much it. -
Why eurOOOOpens/americans sux so muccch in lineage 2?
sandpants replied to SunBeam's topic in General Discussion [English]
What is a good pack for you? You do datapck changes. But would you know the difference between fastlist and hashlist? I wouldn't. Maybe it's a bad comparison, but people frequently say "omg good pack" "good files gm" "respect server good files 80x rates" "bad files 100x rates - fk off nobbb omg", and in reality they have no fuking clue. Yeah, Russians close their house windows, lock their doors, and stack up on snacks so they could Einstein NASA code. But they likely just do things other people can't and have no clue how to do because they'd rather focus on other stuff, when they could fix stuff themselves if they moved their lard arse. They are overpriced. -

the people that open russian servers don't develop shit either. They just get packs, perhaps paid for, then change configs. -
which town do you prefer for main (?)
sandpants replied to Dulens.'s topic in General Discussion [English]
Oren. Military/adventure atmosphere with great music and great surrounding environment. Giran is overused. Goddard/rune is less overused but still cool. Dion - depressing, orange apocalyptic landscape. Good for event zone/pvp zone imo. -
Developers Think Little Like Players
sandpants replied to aris96's topic in General Discussion [English]
You are not specific. You are not certain. You have barely any idea of what you even want. All you want is just something generic. "something like" is everywhere in your post. Well, here is something like what you asked. A whole 50 servers per day: http://maxcheaters.com/forum/index.php?board=6.0 And who plays them? Yeah - NOT YOU. So yeah, L2 DOES need something new. Because point me at people who can be arsed to level/farm/raid. Any server I go to it's oly whoring. -

He deserves it full out. Help or no help, it's hard to consider this a personal opinion, because this opinion is common through out a lot of people. Add insult to injury - it's no different than any other server coming into existence every day. The only thing he is doing is encouraging servers where you level up and leave. -

With I could have said it better. Unfinished train of thought built on prehistoric idea of perfectando servando. This topic needs to burn and end up in Ron Jeremy's arm pit. -

sandpants replied to aris96's topic in General Discussion [English]
And the point of this? What do you do on a server like this? PvP =/= High rate. High Rate is just easier to get items. It doesn't promote PvP. And the majority of what you said is what people "developers" (non worthy of name except a few) actually do. This is just more evidence to retarded well established standards of what people think L2 should be. And it shouldn't be like this. A server like this would live 1 week like the others... -
L2Symple - I need your ideas/opinions on gameplay!
sandpants replied to DrizzLx's topic in General Discussion [English]
I think he means that the later the source the buggier it is. Logically it's correct. In practice it doesn't matter. Earlier sources are likely to have core/functionality problems that are fixed in newer revisions. Newer revisions are likely to miss content. It doesn't matter which you choose. Just consider that high five will be full of rush spam and tanking mages. Deal with that. -

Anything below S grade would not be a money sink. It would be a frustration magnet. How often would players sink their adena into C grade? Once per char? And then realise that they are level 76 wearing C grade cos duh, they sunk their adena into it and shots which they need for 1 hour. -
I get that in a bigger scale it sort of fails. But it's far more flexible IMO. You could box for sure but in the long run those with live support will surpass you. But there is more - with specific buff kits you are only given a certain a-beep-t of buffs aimed at certain characteristics. This may mean nothing stat/performance wise in the long run, but it does allow a much flexible approach towards choosing a support to play with. Some want to play SEs others WCs and others PPs. They have their own buffs, slightly same but with their own niches as well. So you pick a buffset from the NPC to cover what the support will miss. The difference is that typically you either get all buffs from NPC, or non that you actually need and end up needing a whole set of supports (WC/EE/SWS+BD+catbuffs) Thats a high requirement, it makes people less convinced to play as they feel overwhelmed by a group who has all supports. This doesn't even the playing field between people with supports/dualbox and those without. It just makes either less relevant, unlike with full NPC where support is completely irrelevant, or no NPC buff at all where smaller groups are weak.
-
You played on pandora? What you think of that? I liked the idea of having presets which tailor towards a certain playstyle. It eventually doesn't just become a choice of buffs, but more like standard stats. You then pick supports to go along with you to make up for your losses which may also tailor towards your particular class. It felt a lot less messed up that it currently is. You had necessary buffs/stats to work with your particular playstyle, and you could go a long way solo, but you didn't have all the buffs, so it still made sense to look for support classes.
-
I am curious what people think WORKS best (not like the most). Full buff? Or some buffs? Minimal buffs? Outside of town NPC buffing? These offer a range of benefits over full buff - higher emphasis on support role, option to make premade schemes matter (defensive, speed, offensive), no need to nerf cancel/steal dvinity, more varied gameplay and class builds, better balanced damage. Thoughts?

Why eurOOOOpens/americans sux so muccch in lineage 2?

They don't have money. They invest. Russia l2 players donate their gramas for pixels. Owners earn much more money than they invest. -

Arrogant crap. Russias gaming is still developing. And there is more people to play games. It's not the packs that they make. Just popularity. For the western community L2 is a prehistoric pile of dog sh1t. I dare you to buy a russian pack and open a server here smartass. Would be nice to have a laugh.
