  1. I can say for a fact that the server doesn't have 1k people, but in any case, for a PvP server it's okay. I enjoyed how the server enchanting works. You basically go up to +12 easily with blessed (100%), and avoid the hassle of standing in front of an NPC to test your luck for a long amount of time, which is annoying and boring. Then, you simply farm via raid bosses, adena farming, or party zones to drop Extreme enchants to gradually work your way up to +13/14/15/16. This gives you some incentive to keep raiding and stuff even after acquiring top gear, and helps with areas being contested by different clans, thus creating plenty of PvP. My only slight complaint is the augment donations and allowing 1+1 (passive+active). I understand donations are necessary, otherwise why would someone open a PvP server in 2019, but the gap between non-donates and donates becomes a bit too wide. Then again, everything is done via Donate Coins which can be traded, so technically you can use the donate augment system without actually donating. I would have liked if augments didn't stack with 1+1, though .Perhaps something to consider on a future project. Sometimes less is more.
  2. Alright, after playing here for about a day or two I've come to the assessment that this place is definitely worth it. Sure, the place isn't populated. But I firmly believe that this is going to be a late bloomer. It will gradually build over time, simply because it has a different dynamic to your typical Interlude server these days. I've also noticed that the staff is online and engaging with the overall community, contrast to simply catering to the "big clans" mentality that has come to be the standard norm. Oh, and the pure money grab. To those who aren't looking for a two week server that basically consists of the following format: Rush to max level Rush to Stakato / FoG Rush for sub / nobless Rush to alliance level 5 Rush the epics Rush to max gear Once done with all that, usually 10+ days later start complaining about the decline of activity Rinse and repeat two weeks later for the next typical IL server that opens up Then I definitely recommend this place.
  3. Yeah I was a surprised as well, as I'm heavily against bots. That being said, I guess there's a method to the madness, but I'm not about to go as far as endorse said madness. I'm guessing the narrative is that botting has infested the game to such an extent that it's inevitable to prevent it, so by making it legal it doesn't give people who normally bot whether it's legal or not an unfair advantage, now everyone can be on an equal playing field. Still, I prefer the good old traditional banhammer everywhere you see a bot. :P Despite all that, I downloaded this server to check it out and based on the features I really think it has something going for it. It definitely gives you a vibe that this is a long term project. The armor scheme is quite unique and interesting, giving a new dynamic and welcome variety when it comes to player builds. The minor class tweaks (for some supports) sounds interesting, although I'm reserving judgment as I have yet to test them. The custom quest for B recipes is also something that appears somewhat useful. Overall, the server features appear refreshing so I'm going to give this place a shot despite my disagreement with bot policy.
  4. Glad I quit when I saw all those bots. : o But at the end of the day ultra-botting proved to be one of the most minor issues, given this thread, lol.
  5. Tackling 3rd party software is important. It will never eliminate botting but it could limit it to an extent. After that a combination of a healthy community and staff is required. But most importantly, server features appear to be key and this is where unfortunately our luck runs out. These features appear to be the most "bot-friendly" because you can basically purchase everything with adena. This is good for casual gamers, I guess, but it's also amazing for bot users. No crafting is required, no farming in different areas, and no complexity in order to gear up. This in itself entices people to bot, because you can simply run a program and leave your character in a single area, and that's about all you need to reach S grades.
  6. Yeah I was looking forward to this place too, but unfortunately it didn't work out.
  7. This will improve my life, significantly. Thank you.
  8. Can someone give a brief summary of what "Bloody Classic" entails? Or a link to a description or something because I got nothing.
  9. L2OFF - Check Anime Enthusiast Staff - Check I'm a simple man, and I'm convinced.
  10. To be honest I believe that the mutant scheme did more harm than good for the project. Stacksubs is niche market as it is, but with the race-only restrictions there have been successful projects in the past. I remember old DN or L2Frintezza had large numbers in them, but this is going back nearly a decade ago. If you're still keen on stacksubs (which I do enjoy), I would recommend that you use the race-only restriction for stacksubs, and not include any possible way to mutate. Combos like Domi/ES are just a bit too out there. I would look into doing the following scheme: main+stacksub retail sub+stacksub Or even just main+stacksub and that's it (depending on rates). Advertisement is also important, but speaking as someone who enjoys stacksubs servers I was pushed away by the mutant inclusion. Anyhow, best of wishes to your server.
  11. So I'm guessing the idea is about Olympiad advantages to those who opt to take sub-stack with a race restriction. But wouldn't people just make 2 chars.? 1st char for oly (with sub-stack on main class) 2nd char with retail+sub stack to get around the race limitation of a main class, leading to chars like OL/ES. At any rate I'm definitely going to try things out in beta.
  12. Interesting server. I'm a bit confused with stack-subs here, though. So let's say my main class is SpS. On main class I can sub to any other elven class only, correct? Like SpS/ES. But then I can do retail sub to let's say OL, and stack-sub said OL to whatever class I want regardless of race? Or I can only sub it to another orc class?
  13. So is this place worth it or not? You people confused me. O.o
  14. Well, I downloaded the client linked from your website. Still not working.
  15. Client doesn't respond when I try to create a new character and click on the race arrow. That's quite bizarre, never happened to me before. Tried it 2-3 times.
  16. Classic 2.0 Mid Rate needs to happen. It really does.
  17. Definitely avoid a single raid boss zone. Edit: Did you mean a single boss zone or like many boss zones with customized bosses like "Ember", etc? Bosses need to be somewhat relevant, so people actually want to fight for them. This is usually done by having crystal scrolls in the "solid" recipe servers, accompanied by clan rep coins, and a large sum of farm coins. Either way, to give you a proper answer (based around your server dynamics), I need to know the following: 1. How are RB jewels obtained? If they're from vote, what's their set price, and what are the vote reward handouts when the "vote goals" are reached? If they're from farm, what's the price and how long, roughly, would it take for someone to actually farm them? 2. How are bogs and life stones obtained? The most important thing when including raid bosses is to make them worth winning over other players.
  18. Your features are very solid, in the sense that it's what the community has grown accustomed to. Should you decide to include Raid Bosses (which you should), then this will be a PvP server that's nearly identical to 99% of the PvP servers we get these days. If that's what you're aiming for, then sure, with a careful launch date, good advertising, and assuming the files are stable, without silly skill modifications, etc, it could work. Well, at least until the next thing comes along, that is. This could possibly range from 1 to 3 weeks. Clearly I'm in staunch opposition of this recipe, because the trajectory of these servers - and I'm not kidding here - is nearly identical. They launch, people join, people start leaving at an alarming rate, and then, finally, the next big PvP server of the weekend is here. The remaining population disappears as well. Once this stage occurs, the server reaches critical lows, and despite this, it remains open for a short while longer, until finally it shuts down. What happens then? It either remains closed. (non-repeatable) It temporarily shuts down, wipes, and eventually relaunches. (repeatable) It temporarily shuts down, does a complete re-branding (different name, etc), launches as a new project. (also repeatable) I'm not going to be bold enough to tell you that you shouldn't go with this "solid" recipe, simply because I oppose it. Perhaps your expectations will be covered by the cycle of the said recipe, and I'm honestly not criticizing if that's the case. After all, I'm in no position to criticize as I haven't launched a project of my own. Nevertheless, if you have the expectation that by using this recipe the trajectory of your project will vastly differ from what I just described, then I assure you, it wont, and perhaps this isn't the recipe you should be aiming for. Either way, good luck with your project.
  19. This looks like a promising high rate server, which is rare these days, imo. Regarding S grade updates, do the armors maintain their retail defense stats? Also, are Varka / Kentra / BS rbs retail or customized when it comes to their stat attributes?
  20. First suggestion: Remove the wings, they're ugly and most people don't like them.
  21. There are some decent Greeks running servers. Check out L2Warland.
  22. Oh look, my post on the L2Java thread is accurate! p.s good luck with the server.
  23. Well, fuck 2k16 then. Besides, the only remotely good thing that happened this year was the Brexit vote. :P
  24. Cant argue with that.
  25. Not all Greek veins. :< Anyhow, the person who ran this server should be eaten by Ramsey's dogs.
