[Guide]Dota Game modes and Commands

When u enter game,u can press a command and give several game modes to game

Cause it's not detailed ANYWHERE,i will take what official playdota.com and ingame DotA map says and explain them better to you!

all codes must have a - in front

u can use also many code combination

Common Game Modes

ap All Pick.

Each player is allowed to pick a hero from any tavern.

-Normally,when no mode ,you can choose only from your side heroes(either scourge or sentinel) and Neutral ones.When this activated u can choose ALL heroes.Very common command.You can also -repick in this.You may also use -random or -random str/agi/int(we will see below)

 

ar All Random. Each player is given a random hero from any tavern.

-When this mode the game gives you totally random 1 hero of all 101

 

rd Random Draft.20 random heroes from any tavern are selected and players take turns picking from them.

-The game chooses 20 of 101 heroes and puts them in a circle

then with random time all players are allowed to click and get their hero

 

sd Single Draft. Each player chooses from one of 3 individual random heroes.

-The game gives u 3 options in ur Circle of Power.One char is STR ,another AGI and one INT

 

cd Captains Draft. 24 random heroes are selected. Then Blue and Pink take turns banning heroes, then picking heroes. Then the players on each team pick from their team's heroes.

-As said,game gives 24 heroes,each team leader chooses which to ban and which to choose

then ,the heroes appear in the base and players can CLICK ony press Ok and take him

 

cm Captains Mode. Blue and Pink take turns banning heroes, then take turns picking heroes. These heroes are then chosen by members of their team.

-Now the system is more complicated

Blue and Pink(captain leaders )first ban 2 heroes(by turn each one ,one every time)

they have limited time to do this

after that,they choose 2 heroes the same way

after,2 more bans for each one

after ,3 more picks

chars are spawned at base,players click and take them

 

em Easy Mode. Towers are weaker, and players get extra gold and experience.

-Towers have 300 less life,and gold+xp are like 50% more

 

Other Game Modes

 

dm Death Match. When you die you are given a new hero. The game can end normally, or when one team reaches a certain amount of deaths. lives # can be used to set life limit, and -nd to remove respawn timer along with this mode.

-You can combine this with -ap or -ar

better is with -ar and remove respawn time

 

rs Random Side. Places each team on a random side.

-The Sentinel team px has 50% to go at top side(scourge) or down side(sentinel)

 

du Duplicate. More than one of each hero can be played.

-When u click to take a hero,he can be used by someone too(doesn't dissapears)

 

sp Shuffle Players. Randomly switches around players from each team.

-Players from each team before game will randomly go in scourge or sentinel ingame

 

xl Extended League. Both Sides will take turns picking heroes. Each team captain can pick 4 heroes to remove from the pool.

-Nothing more,said it all ;D

 

om Only Mid. Only the middle lane is used.

Creeps won't spawn in top or bot

 

sc Super Creeps. Powerful creeps will spawn every 10 minutes.

-Creeps with some power(2-3k life and 70-80 damage)spawn in a random line.

 

lm League Mode. Both Sides will take turns picking heroes.

-Nothing more to say,said it all

 

mm Mirror Mode. After one minute, each team will have the same heroes.

-One team chooses,the other have the SAME herose

 

tr Team Random. You will be given a random hero from your taverns.

-Instead of -ar,it takes only the heroes u can

 

mr Mode Random. Selects a random game mode.

-a totally random mode is given

 

vr Vote Random. You will be given a random hero from the voted groupset.

-It gives 3 options with 5 heroes of u and 5 of opponents.Host will choose the group

 

rv Reverse. You pick a hero for your opponent.

-Nothing more :D

 

oi Observer Info. Enables extra information display for observers.

-Observers(referees)will have some extra information ingame

 

sh Same Hero. All players will be given the hero that Blue has.

-Nothing more

 

aa All Agility. Only Agility heroes are used.

-In -ap/-ar will be used ONLY agility heroes

 

ai All Intelligence. Only Intelligence heroes are used.

-explained above

 

as All Strength. Only Strength heroes are used.

-explained above

 

id Item Drop. When you die, a random inventory slot will drop an item.

-When u die,you will drop 1 item inrandom from ur 6 itemslots.If empty,nothing is dropped

 

np No Powerups. No runes spawn.

-Nothing more

 

nt No Top. The top lane is not used.

-No creeps spawn in top

 

nm No Mid. The middle lane is not used.

-No creeps spawn in mid

 

nb No Bot. The bottom lane is not used.

-No creeps spawn in bot

 

ns No Swap. Swapping heroes is not allowed.

-Nothing more

 

nr No Repick. Repicking heroes is not allowed.

-Nothing more

 

pm Pooling Mode. All items can be used by other players.

-You will get normally the stats of an item even if it's not yours

 

mi Mini Heroes. All heroes are half normal size.

-Nothing more

 

fr Fast Respawn. Reduces death times by 50%.

-Nothing more

 

mo Melee Only. Only melee heroes are used.

-In -ap/-ar only melee heroes will be available

 

ro Ranged Only. Only ranged heroes are used.

-In -ap/-ar only ranged heroes will be available

 

er Experimental Runes. Uses an experimental rune spawning system.

-Another way of spawning runes

 

so     Switch On. Allows use of the -switch command. Leavers items can be unlocked by -unlock command when this mode is activated.

-When px 2 players leave from one team,u can press -switch view the list and change with one leaver.Players vote(you need 100% votes)and u may go at the opposite team

 

zm Zoom mode. Observers will view the game from a zoomed out state.

-Nothing more

 

cp Capture Point. Specific areas appear at 10 minute mark. Capturing them grants various bonus auras.

-Too complicated,new command never used it.YOU will hardly ever see it

 

wtf Fun mode. Spells have no cooldown or manacost.

-Nothing more

 

 

 

These were commands ONLY host can press

now let's go at the commands ALL players can use

 

 

 

 

tips Gives you various helpful pointers about your hero throughout the game.

-Type this,and the game will give you various type about your character in the right levels

 

random Random. Gives you a random hero in modes like All Pick. You get 250 extra gold.

-While in AP,wait some seconds and press it.A totally random char is given to you

 

random int Random. Gives you a random Intelligence hero in modes like All Pick. You get 150 extra gold.

-Nothing more

 

random str Random. Gives you a random Strength hero in modes like All Pick. You get 150 extra gold.

-Nothing more

 

random agi Random. Gives you a random Agility hero in modes like All Pick. You get 150 extra gold.

-Nothing more

 

ma Displays the heroes your opponents control and their levels. Alias: -matchup.

-Just,it will say,px

Nevermore(Finito) 20 level

 

ms Displays your hero's current movement speed. Alias: -movespeed.

-Gives you your current movement speed(how fast u move)

 

apm Displays apm ( actions per minute ) of all players.

-Nothing more

 

cs Displays your creep kills, denies, and neutral kills.

-It gives a detailed report of how many creep kill/creep denies/neutral kills u have

 

switch # Allows you to switch teams with another player. Other players vote with -ok or -no after this command is entered.

-an 100% agreement is needed to go at opposite team

 

es Enables selection helper. This is enabled by default. Alias: -enableselection

-Nothing more

 

es Disables selection helper. Alias: -disableselection

-Nothing more

 

c Center. Locks the camera on your hero.

-Camera will be moved along with ur hero

 

co Centeroff. Turns center mode off.

-Disables -c

 

disablehelp Prevents certain spells, such as Test of Faith cast by an allied Holy Knight, from affecting you. Also prevents allies from picking up your items in the fountain area.

-when an ally uses one of his skills(px Toss of tiny)to disturb you,just press it and it won't work on u

 

enablehelp Re-enables effects from certain allied spells and allows allies to pick up your items in the fountain area.

-Disables -disablehelp

 

unstuck Pauses your hero for 60 seconds, after which you are teleported to your base.

-You get normally damage!

 

swap # Offers to swap your hero with another player's. -swaphero # can also be used.

-You may swap hero in first 2 minutes of game.Use -swapall to make a swap reQ to all ur allies

 

weather rain Switches weather to rain.

-Nothing more

 

weather snow Switches weather to snow.

-Nothing more

 

weather moonlight Switches weather to moonlight.

-Nothing more

 

weather wind Switches weather to wind.

-Nothing more

 

weather random Switches to random weather.

-Above mentioned weather conditions will be used in random times ingame

 

weather off Turns weather off.

-Nothing more

 

don Shows the death timer. Alias: -deathon

-Enabled by default

 

doff Hides the death timer. -deathoff

-When dead,the RESPAWN timer will not show

 

roll # Shows a random number between 1 and the number entered, max of 2000. Default of 100.

-better use -roll w/o anything

 

rollon Enables roll command. This is initially enabled.

-Nothing more

 

rolloff Disables roll command.

-Nothing more

 

hhn Hides the hero name portion of player's names. Alias: -hideheronames.

-Only the name of the enemy will be shown

 

test Enables single player commands.

-Will see below what is usefull for.Only by HOST and in first seconds of game

 

clear Clears the messages.

-Nothing more

 

ii Item info. Shows items of allied heroes on multiboard.

-It gives a second board in game statistics

 

gameinfo Displays information about the current game modes.

-Tells you what modes are given

 

kickafk # Used to kick a player who has been AFK for a long period of time.

-Only if he is more than 5 minutes afk

 

mines Shows you how many Land Mines you have placed with Goblin Techies.

-xDxDxD

 

mc Shows how many times you have Multicast with Ogre Magi.

-Shows how fackin lucky u are ;D

 

fs Shows how much bonus Strength you have gained from Flesh Heap with Pudge. Alias: -fleshstr

-Shows how many STR totally u gained by ur 3rd skill with pudge

 

int Shows how much bonus Intelligence you have gained from Last Word with Silencer.

-Or how many kill steals u did

 

ha Shows your average accuracy with Meat Hook or Hookshot.

-Shows how many hook u did brought the enemy in you(allies or creeps doesn't count in)

 

aa Shows your average accuracy with Elune's Arrow.

-How many arrows found target at an enemy(not creeps)

 

invokelist Displays all of Invoker's spells, and what reagents are needed to use them.

-Nothing more

 

water red Makes the water red.

-Nothing more

 

water green Makes the water green.

-Nothing more

 

water blue Makes the water blue.

-Nothing more

 

water default Makes the water the default color.

-Nothing more

 

water r g b Sets the water color to the color specified by r, g, and b. Example: "-water 255 0 0" is the same as "-water red".

-If u are advanced

 

water random Sets the water to a random color.

-Nothing more

 

gg Displays bonus gold gained from Alchemist's Goblin Greed ability.

-Or how much u farmed with Alchemist..

 

rh Displays a random hero name. Alias: -rollhero.

-Nothing more

 

 

Single Player Commands(or commands that are used on -test)

lvlup # Increases level of your hero by entered value.

-It gives u level.Also -lvlupall XX(XX is level)

spawncreeps Spawns creeps from all lanes.

-Spawns all creeps in ur command

 

powerup Spawns runes.

-Nothing more

 

neutrals Forces neutral spawn.

-Creeps in woods are spawned

 

kill Kills your last picked hero. This kill will be considered as a suicide.

-Or u can use -kill 5 px

 

gold # Increases your gold by entered value.

-Also -goldall xxxx(xxxx is gold)

 

time # Sets time of day. Values should be between 0 and 24.

-Good with balanar ;D

 

killsent Kills sentinel creeps.

-Kills all the sentinel creeps that are spawned

 

killscourge Kills scourge creeps.

-Kills all the scourge creeps that are spawned

 

killall Kills all creeps.

-It kills ALL creeps spawned in map

 

noherolimitt Allows you to pick multiple heroes.

trees Forces a tree spawn.

-You may have more than 1 hero in ur control

 

killwards Removes wards from the map.

-All wards are killed in ur command

DotA has many nice commands...most people play only with the first BASIC

the others give a new boost to game too,but most doesn't know them

also the statistic commands(like -aa,or -ha) are nice too!
