Hello,

I'm here to report Nikolas "unsimpleworld" Kolis for scamming a friend of mine out of a total of $4,500 USD. Earlier this year, in late February, my friend commissioned a website project from him that was supposed to include the following:

  • A full Lineage 2 website
  • A Wiki page
  • WizardCP

Project link: https://talkingisland.net/

Price: $4,500 USD

Around two months ago, my friend reached out to me, explaining that they had been scammed by unsimpleworld and that he was being uncooperative and unresponsive. Given my previous experience working with unsimpleworld as a graphic designer, I decided to contact him directly, hoping my connection might help resolve the situation.

When I reached out to unsimpleworld, I explained the situation and asked why the project had been abandoned or delayed, and why he was ignoring my friend’s messages. He claimed that the delay was due to issues with the developers assigned to the project. After some back and forth, he assured me that he would complete and launch the site promptly.

Surprisingly, he did put the website online that same day — but it was 80% unfinished and not functional.

However, about two weeks ago, I revisited unsimpleworld's portfolio and noticed that he has been working on two new projects (L2Allure & L2Satyricon) instead of completing my friend's project, which was ordered back in February. After seeing this, I contacted my friend again to check on the progress of their TalkingIsland website. Unfortunately, they informed me that they are still waiting for the website to be finished, and unsimpleworld continues to be unresponsive and has yet to fulfill the order.

Note the first seen date, that proves that these projects have been published quite recently, instead of finishing TalkingIsland (Ordered late February).

Adding to the concern, a Russian developer who has worked with unsimpleworld informed us that he had also scammed several other Russian developers recently. I have screenshots that provide more details on this.

It’s shocking that a supposedly reputable web development studio, known for their expensive designs, could have such poor management and customer support. For the price my friend paid, the level of service was far from acceptable.

Pretty sad to see someone 'reputable' ruin their reputation over money

It's shocking to me that he has been scamming all over the years on and off and nobody ever reported something like this, fuck this guy.

they have mxc forum profile? i will check and ban everything.

I don't think so, that's why I posted it here and not in the report section so the community is aware and take action in the sense of mouth propaganda.

We have been working with Unsimple for many years, many completed projects for tens of thousands and thousands dollars, always on time. It is unfortunate that someone ended up in such a situation....

Hello, respected forum members!

The situation described by the original poster distorts the facts and misleads the forum participants. The primary goal of this post is to damage the reputation of our company, which has successfully been creating websites for gaming projects for 18 years, with over 500 completed projects.

To clarify the situation, here are the exact facts:

  1. The order was placed in March 2024.
  2. The project was completed in May 2024. At that time, it was fully ready for installation, and we provided the client with proof of completion. The client confirmed this by paying the remaining balance. The completion time matches the estimate given at the time of the order.
  3. There was indeed a delay in the installation of the project, which lasted several weeks. This was due to force majeure circumstances within our team, of which the client was promptly notified.
  4. The project installation was completed in July 2024, which, according to the contract, is considered the delivery date of the project.
  5. After the installation, we requested additional information for the final setup, which we only received in early August 2024. The nearly month-long delay was due to the client's fault.
  6. The client also requested additional changes and revisions, which we completed free of charge as compensation.
  7. As of today, we have:
    • A fully completed website, including additions and revisions
    • A configured ACP and UCP system (WizardsP)
    • A wiki prepared for activation

It’s important to note that during the course of the project, one of the client's team members, specifically Belli L2, repeatedly engaged in inappropriate communication, including ethnic and racial insults. This behavior created a highly tense atmosphere, which affected the prioritization of work on this project. Nevertheless, we kept the client fully informed of all changes and delays.

For the forum administration: Personal data has been posted in the complaint thread without permission. This is a violation of the law, and if such information continues to be shared, we reserve the right to report it to law enforcement. We demand that this information be immediately removed to avoid further legal action.

I hope this information helps the forum members form an objective opinion about the situation.

March + 40-50 days, according to my math that makes mid April. Now look what we have, mid August, and I don't see a wiki, nor do I see a working WizardCP.

Yes WizardCP is there, but she is not able to login, it throws errors. The website is filled with dummy data, that is what u call a finished site? Welp, maybe frontend/graphics wise, but rest is still unfinished. How is she able to input the data missing without be able to login?

And based on the screenshots, you told her plenty of deadlines that u didn't fulfilled in time. She also told you that she wants a refund and you rejected.

So how long do she still have to wait? 40-50 days and now it's nearly half a year, you should be ashamed of yourself.

And what about the other russian guy saying that you have been scamming several other russian developers with not paying them? And what about the forum post dating back to 2011? You didn't say anything about them so I guess that is valid information.

Because of your incompetence and numerous delays, she had a damage in terms of money loss on the project and preparation, who's gonna compensate her? See, you miss a few points here.

She reported those errors to you and you kept ignoring, being unresponsive and unprofessional. To be honest, I wouldn't buy from you after reading this.

About the Personal ID @Celestine, you can remove it from the post. The other information is public data, that can be found on the internet, it literally just takes a 5 second facebook search, and sharing that is not against the law.

Seems like another 6 months? What is wrong with you? Baylee paid for the website, so you are in charge of finishing it, no matter what!

And I thought the website is finished? Or what "process" we talk about? If website is finished, then there shouldn't be a "process" anymore no? So you just lied once again.

Threatening customers, such a professional studio holy shit.

Deliver what you were paid to do, and then there will be no reason to keep the topic up.

(I’m writing this, mostly adding to what @Eldamar said, so a big part might be redundant on what was already said.)

So, on behalf of a friend from the TalkingIsland team, who got scammed by @unsimple, a well known web development group in L2 and WoW groups. After the scam was reported, the scammer sent a message saying something like, "I can't keep working unless you delete the post." (as seen above in @Eldamar's message).

He proceeded to spit random untrue statements above on this same topic, and then, he deleted the group chat with the devs and my friend, wiping out all the previous messages. Since then, he’s ghosted; no updates whatsoever, no communication, nada.

It’s clear now that this bullshit is a scam. No one’s been able to reach him since. To make things worse, he deleted all the evidence and chats. (Apparently, on Telegram, you can wipe messages for both parties, leaving no trace.)

For two months, he kept saying stuff like, "We’ll update tomorrow," but nothing ever happened. Weeks would go by, and the same empty promises continued. The only thing he actually did was upload a basic template with placeholder lorem ipsum latin text, yada yada. None of the features that were paid for worked; Multi-platform support (like being able to access it from an phone, etc) was broken. And none of these things are working to this day.

My friend initially contacted this guy because a lot of the "top servers" had websites made by him. But now, the scammer is refusing to refund the money or finish the project. He’s even blocked and erased all the chats. His so-called developers were no help either; they just played the victim and ignored all messages.

This scammer claimed the project was finished in May 2024, and that it was ready for installation. He showed my friend some "proof of completion," and based on that, my friend paid the rest of the money. He’s trying to say that the completion time matched the estimate, but that’s not even close to be true; in reality, the only thing he finished was a template with placeholder text. None of the important stuff worked, like multi-platform functionality, the wiki, or the updater (which was included in the package they paid for but was never even brought up again). The UCP (User Control Panel) was also non-functional.

My friend paid for the most expensive package, but this guy didn’t even deliver what was promised in the cheapest package ($1500). He claims that installation was done in July 2024, which he says is the “official delivery date” according to the contract. But the contract clearly stated a 30-40 day delivery window from February/March, so obviously, July is way past that.

Here’s what they paid for:

1. Multi-language website
2. Multi-platform website
3. UCP (User Control Panel) with all features
4. Custom, proprietary designs and icons
5. A logo
6. Updater with a custom design
7. Wiki for the game

Here’s what they actually got:

1. The multi-language function is broken (languages zoom in weirdly).
2. The site doesn’t work on other devices.
3. Most of the features aren’t even activated, and they have to be “enabled” by the developer, but they never bothered.
4. No custom designs or icons were made, and they ignored my friend's complaints.
5. After 6 months, they got a logo. When my friend asked for some changes, they claimed the designer couldn’t agree with us, so they eventually gave up.
6. The updater was never shown, started, or even discussed.
7. The wiki looks copied from another site, they showed a screenshot of a wiki about 4 months ago, and never actually delivered or enabled it so that my friend could check it out, so pretty much it was never presented, never installed. ( @unsimple was asked about this MULTIPLE TIMES, and the only answer they got was, 'my dev will show you tomorrow'. Same answer every day, a minimum of 10 times.)

TL;DR: TalkingIsland got delayed pretty much by an extra year, potentially losing $4500 in the process, @unsimple NEVER offered any sort of compensation other than saying 'sorry' (which doesnt really help with the loss of time and money invested), then even after they started working on the project again after a month of inactivity, at the same time they were asked to scrap it completely and return the money, but they denied it saying that the project was completed, when we clearly can't even see 50% of it in talkingisland's web to this day.
Didnt even offer a partial refund, nothing. As i said, no true compensation was ever offered, nor any sort of way to end the issue in a friendly or polite way.
Instead, he went ahead and deleted every possible proof that could be used against him, and threathen the person who reported the scam.

TL;DR 2: The amount of work that was put into the web arguably does not reach the value of $200

WTF, this is fucked up.

But I guess Baylee has basically almost the entire chat history in screenshots that could be used against him (probably).

Thanks @911reg for sharing more details about this scumbag!

I just hope that Baylee can chargeback on paypal..

The PayPal Buyer Protection has an expiration time of 180 days after transaction completion.

On top of that, intangible goods (such as digital goods) are now also covered by the Buyer Protection, as evident HERE.
