Hello guys. I have a question to all of you. A couple days before i was trying to run l2, the classic client via wine. It was good start, the logo was appeared, everything was looking fine when i just don't get it in the game. Each settings or common client text was good in english but the text in the chat was disappeared. Then i tried to install PlayOnLinux and i tried again, it was the same issue, the chat was invisible for me. I've been thinking about it but i just don't got it, i installed Microsoft Fonts to the PlayOnLinux but even you don't trust me, the case was same, no text in the chat

So if anybody in the past has been hits with that problem may join in that discussion and see what's the problem and how to be resolved.

I will leave an image for you guys, to imagination the common thing.

I don't think it would be ok to tell you all benefits because this discussion is about something another but i will. I operate with linux all day and for me it's easier to develop and see my results on my current OS which is Linux. I don't like to code on windows for many reasons and also i don't wanna to operate with different machines for one thing.

My next request is don't change the topic with difference things, please.

It was a problem with the fonts how i thought. It just has to be added "tahoma" fonts to the emulator which is located in .wine\drive_c\windows\Fonts

Link to the fonts: https://l2scarlet.hubsinfo.net/downloads/tahoma-font/tahoma-font.zip

Have a nice day, Will be happy if i am helped to somebody 🙂

I do everything on Linux, and I'm playing L2 from Linux, and it works like a charm. Of course, servers with antibot won't work

To get it working you need the Tahoma font and the MS XML Service installed on wine so you don't crash when you buy something from a shop

You can just buy a cheap key from ebay and play on windows

That's not the point though. The point is to not have to switch OS every time you wanna play L2. Windows starts sucking massive balls once you get used to Linux and see how Linux works for you, instead of against you. It helps you be more productive.

L2 is the only reason I occasionally boot into Windows.

MacBook is good enough as the daily driver and Linux server to run any server.

If my server wouldn’t use AAC I’d completely forget about Windows and their gambling-game updates. Fuck Microsoft!

I just fixed my issue with custom font called: "Tahoma". The second thing was the https://lutris.net/ tool that helps me to setup everything includes WINE in background. It's the best tool for Linux Gaming that I've ever had.
