Lineage 2 Remastered by NCSoft

Recommended Posts

So apparently NCSoft announced a new Lineage 2 PC Version. They plan to remaster the whole Lineage 2 Client. The engine they want to use will be UE4. That's all information I have. Are there more about this project?

Will it be a 1:1 clone or would it be nice to have a comepletely new world, inspired by the original one? I mean... Games which were remastered were usually treated by giving them just new generation hq textures. ^^

What do you guys think?

iirc there was no info about engine change, just textures with higher resolution and maybe some model updates. KR have done that many times for various minor things over last years of updates.

This company always takes bad decisions.

Ue4 already looks old, since ue5 was recently released from epic games. I guess they will remaster original version. Anyway they are used to p2w shit so nothing new here.

Purpose?

Promote new graphics, milk more players?

NCsoft never said anything about UE4 remake, ppl base that from clickbait youtube videos and trash website articles, all together with 0 sources - pure speculations. NC could be looking for UE4 artists for any of 10 other games they produce with recent engines, so another empty speculation.

To top that, KR released some first "l2 remastered" changes this week - better looking item icons :D few mobs next and done.

Unreal Engine 5 was not released, it is scheduled for late 2021.

In modern times it's not the engine which makes a game look good. It's the skill of the artist, who creates a nice illusion!

A New Lineage 3 World, inspired by the Original one, will be 5 times better.

Lineage 3 :

15 Conquerable Castles, Clan Halls, Olympiad, 3 Sub classes, 130 Max Level, No Grade Items but Items by Levels, Level 1 up to Level 20 for all items.

Hades area, Phobos Area, The Dark Tomb Area, Catacombs Area, Seed of Infinity/Destruction Areas.... Epic Raid Bosses x15. Many Instance Zones for solo/party farming.

Farming Areas F U L L of Mobs, Not Empty crap Farming areas. Re-Spawnable Mobs every 4 seconds.

Classes : Buffer, Healer, Archer, Mage, Poler/Puller, Tank, Ghost, Vampire, Druid. (No broken dagger/fighter classes, only Ranged Classes).

Races : Orks, Trolls, Human's, Elfs, Dark Elfs, Dwarves, Ghosts, Vampires.

Few Ideas.... you know. We want Lineage 3.

To this time I do not see better looking skills animations in game than old UE2 Lineage 2

NCSoft is focused now on mobile games market. Money and only money.

Lineage 2M is a big commercial success, best selling mobile game in Google Store, company reach almost 0.5 million € income  every day!

The game itself is hopeless - nothing common to original L2, only music, names, some monsters meshes.

I just pray they will never start to convert from UE4 to UE5 (untill NC release the game, UE5 will be already on the market) at one point in game development process, otherwise we will have another Project TL story...

Update from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 was announced by Epic Games to be easy and won't take as much time as transition from previous engine versions.
