Hi guys,

Which l2j pack project in your opinion is the most stable and worth on building a l2j mid/nocustom pvp/custom pvp server?

Personally I started from l2jfrozen but pack had serious issues and the project got closed. Now I've seen they are trying to revive it but unsuccessfully(they haven't made pack publicly accessible this year and they are very slow).

After that was using acis for few years but got disappointed with constant bullsh*t updates, dev team not focusing on what needs to be working. Pack for them is a sandbox to try out new java concepts, even if you might break what's working already. Who had experience with aCis will know what I mean. There are tons of successful aCis servers just because admins took pack while it was somewhat stable (~1-2 years ago), and applied only necessary fixes manually from updates. Other than that latest aCis updates for this year was like shifting furniture around the house in the weird way, not inventing something new.

Tried out luceral2 a couple years ago and it seemed nice. After it was bought by another dev team source is not available anymore and old one had really serious bugs. Personally, I think this java project is the most stable now, however we will never have access to the source bcs admin is afraid of 10000000 new forks appearing thus ruining his business.

That said, I would like to hear your opinions, maybe there is some another pack out there which would be stable, would have source access?

Well just pick a pack and make changes of what ever you think must be changed. dont search for stable packs because you will never find it. There are tons of successful l2jfrozen,acis,lucera,scoria,l2jhellas servers .... If your knowledge can fix all your needs go ahead, otherwise hire a dev and create your pack and thats all...

I dont expect ALL things to be working. At least main things -  sieges, oly. That balance (formulas) wouldn't be totally fcked up.

I am not 16 years old school kiddo who can spend all his freetime on developing some random pack from scratch.  I have fulltime work, part time work and a relationshit.

And in terms of paying, I can pay for an least  somewhat stable base.  I have limited resources (time, money) to do what I want, so can't just randomly pick anything.

You and all l2jproject owners :) so dont expect something stable (atleast fast), on the other hand if a project would cover all your needs whats the point of the continuous development on that from their side?. All i want to say is compromise with one project and do the necessary changes . ;)

wrong .... aCis before 1-2 years is more unstable from today .... but if you think how is more stable get 340 or 330 rev and test it :P

they has successful server because work on this files 1-2 years ...

never one normal "on mind" people can share source from one stable pack

It's totally wrong than aCis was more stable previously than currently, but whatever, I won't argue with you : you didn't win "annoying orange" reward on my boards for nothing. You're stucked between 3 packs, for IL. Your only salvation is to stop using IL or use directly L2OFF.

You got no money, you got no time, you got no skill (and I invent nothing, I only take your words : about the "no skill" part I only base myself on the fact you only whine and never share anything, as simple as the problem is). Do you really want to develop a server ?

Good luck in your search.

First of all, I didn't say that aCis team doesn't have skill so no need to get all buthurt and defensive.

Now what I said is that resources are not focused where it's most important. Why they are not focused? Because aCis never was NEVER oriented  to private server owners to begin with.  It's not a commercial project. Thus, there is no need to focus on what's most important for private server owners. So result is that you are proud to proclaim that aCis project is 7 years old. But what would any seasoned server admin see if he would fire up the latest fork?

  • Formulas not working properly, meaning that balance  in reality does not work like in  l2off and is not stable. Resist chances fked up.
  • DP is high maintenance: weirdly working skills, quests, augmentation skills not working properly, I could go on and on.
  • Some core problems with packets (for example problem with mages: when casting spd for mage reaches 1500, casting magic skills animation will always have same duration, even if mage has a 2x casting speed)
  • Sieges not working properly
  • Most of custom mods are adapted from frozen by community of developers(meaning it won't be stable and compatible with new forks), bcs you are too proud to support some other code.

Seriously, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't even count how many times you decided to do some bullshit data reorganization which led me to just taking a new fork and implementing all my code again. And that was project had 300+ people online, so had to do all my tests every fkin time. Who cares? Not you buddy.

aCis is a community lead by a dictator perfectionist type of a guy who would rather spend years on doing some datatype reorganizations and fking up what's already working. He never had a lineage2 server and all he sees it's his java sandbox.

For the end, project was never focused commercially so I can understand where Tryskell is coming from. It's like an old car which he got for free and now hes trying to revive it on his own pace, in his own way. I am sure if he would be paid accordingly the priorities would be accurate and this project would already be stable, but at this pace interlude will die before he finishes perfecting everything in his own special snowflake way.

GL with your hobby project+, because I and many others are sick of your sh1t and way of doing things.

Not sure why are you even arguing with him.

Although you said it was just the tip of the iceberg, you forgot to mention the garbage geoengine and still not all epics implemented and working properly in 2018.

If it was any good, you would see more than 1 live server(sahar's).

Why don't you go with lucera? That pack is as close to off as a java pack could be. If you want custom features, you can order them.

Just thought the more people are aware the better. Maybe new years miracle will happen and TK will pull out his head out of his own ass. Who knows.

Would like to have source, but lucera admin doesn't sell it.

wrong ... if is perfectionist never can add feature without work 100% and give it on updates for live servers ...

as i have said and on past is one beta project ...

no one big rework work correct ... "maybe as thinking"

but after leaving Hasha i think this team no have skills for end the job

and i think before end 2020 this project is unstable for used on live server " as all shared project "

better use l2off for live servers

Rhalala, you should try to speak about what you know about.

Anyway, gl to find your unicorn. "Commercial" and "L2J" never happened (or name me a fork), Elfocrash would even say it's forbidden according GNU licence. All forks are driven by hobbyists, whatever you want to think.

PS : resistances are calculated as they should.

PS2 : Hasha is actually the main author of biggest aCis issues, namely the geoengine rework and the potential issues based on GameTimeController drop. And I don't speak about other reworks which I had to fix myself. Speak about what you know, please, instead of playing the specialist.

Properly working projects are not unicorns TK.

Take a look at

http://pain-team.ru/ based on l2phx+overlord

clients: rampage.pw playorbis.pro scryde.ru la2mega.com

Some people have better management skills and know how to get resources to get the job done. Less narcissism and you could have finished the pack and lived without problems instead of arguing random people in forums.

P.S. Go and create at least a pvp server on ur source, then talk about what I know and what I don't know.

all this rework you add it on your main project without work correct ...
that show only one people how is not perfectionist ...realy i don't care if your pack is 7 or 17 years project or if is you are have it for hobby or not ... just don't use titles how you can't support " perfectionist " lol

I see what you are trying to say, I rly do, but.. You can't compare acis to any 'commercial' project or whatsoever.

Guess why those Ru packs are 'stable/playable'. They do the project for the money, they make things work and ask a lot of money. While Tk is NOT doing it for money, as a product to sell. So you see the difference, he don't want to rework some nasty issue, he don't touch it, he skip it.

So you have to choose, you want 'the best project' without sources for 1k euro or stable project with few broken things, for free?

Sure, Tk can make it private, ask 100/200/X euro for access and then things will be done, not necessarily by him, with those money he could pay someone to rework something.

About server, people create servers on acis and don't  blame, others blame all the time, and some others don't create and wait for more fixes. One way or another, it's always you who have to fix some small problems when you open a server.

It's easy to make it with all feature and looks like it's L2, it's harder to make it work like retail.

Also don't blame people with the lack of bug report. Most issue with public pack is people whining "it's crap it didn't work" without a single proper bug report.

Shadowing bug report to make a fork, resell a modified version, sell fix, ... also hurt the main project.

    • Hi everyone, I need to make the amulets stackable, as well as the spellbooks, but I need to control their consumption. I have modified the item.xml like this for example:   <item id="8885" type="EtcItem" name="Amulet: Magnus' Chant"> <set name="material" val="PAPER" /> <set name="weight" val="120" /> <set name="price" val="120" /> <set name="is_stackable" val="true" /> </item> But I can see that within the spellbooks.xml it handles, I believe its consumption since I see the following for the same amulet:   <book skillId="1413" itemId="8885"/><!-- Amulet: Magnus' Chant --> My question is the following, how do I make sure that when these are stacked, they are not all consumed in a single use.
