They can if you resize them x3-4 for each monitor standard. another way is css only if the template is simple and does not require images. and the third way which i am not so sure is illustration since its allow easy re-sizing -

Almost every host company i've worked with has a "Firewall" for remote connections. you should contact them to open the connection between the hosts. also its good to use Custom mysql users, so only the webhost can accesses it. -
