  1. That's exactly the mindset of a 'classic' supporter. Anyway, a few notes on why this is not possible: 1. C5 NPC ID overhaul (1-max VS 1-10k for special/event NPCs, 20k+ monsters, 25k+ raids, 27k+ quest mobs, 30k+ town NPCs/other non-attackables) 2. Too many changes to pledge/ally (and their war) system. I mean even C5 had a rather large (even when only taking UI in account) pledge system change 3. No such thing as light/dark castles, but this can be side-stepped, e.g. sending all castles as neutral to client 4. No more SSQ, that means no SSQ state indicator in world map, for example 5. All SA-ed items are now named "Not Used" with SA text (yellow) being "Not Used"; incompatible SA system due to all C+ items having 2 SA slots instead of "1" "slot" in C3. 6. All materials are now "corroded" in client, all recipes have changed to match new material/ingredient system 7. Most C3 quests are gone from the client. Some midlevel (e.g. 6x-7x) quests have managed to slip through, but they will not be spared for long. Do I need to continue? You literally have no clue what you are talking about, yet you state things with such high confidence as if you were the only expert on these things in the whole world. I have only one tip for you:
  2. "copy paste all older maps" is what classic does. Did you even play C3? GF mob dumbed down AI doesn't come even close to what C3 was about. Plus all the changes to epic raids over time will ensure that the endgame content is not even the slightest bit like C3. Also, C3 was not the first chronicle to feature, as NCSoft puts it, "Re-arrangement of the Entire Hunting Ground". Deleting spawns in non-C3 zones will not fix anything. In other words, do you even play l2? Go play your shit tier classic mode, you will never know better.
  3. People who migrated to linux and don't want dual boot might. But yeah, those people don't exist and there's not anyone else, really.
  4. C3 client support is very easy, regardless if C2 C3 (530) or C3 C3 (555) or C4 C3 (non-prelude auth, complete eventmatch support: 557/560). C3 also supports windowed mode by default, which is a huge advantage over earlier chronicles. The main problem is, C3 had complete spawn, npc stat and npc ai script overhaul (vs C2/C1) among other things, but real C3 files have never leaked anywhere. C4 by itself has a lot of changes which makes C4 also a really bad candidate for basing C3 onto. Which means whatever you create, it will be as close to the real C3 as the Earth is close to Sirius. Light years away.
  5. I would be concerned about certain world areas where private property used to not exist or generally is not respected [by law]. There you cannot personally own anything, primarily in the sense that the state can give and take at any time, because all is owned by the state. How do you calculate score there? Is it always 0, whatever function whose limit converges to 0, or [insert the whole state's score here]? There was no such thing as private property (by law) less than 30 years ago here, and people are generally still not used to it and the materialistic world view, primarily found in the USA/UK/Australia or other Anglo-Saxon countries is pretty foreign to us here.
  6. System message window. Also, NO. You can only attack when gainak is PvP zone, and that's when the mobs that are worthwhile killing spawn. Most of the time its peace zone, like when the video was taken. Git gud pls
  7. Thanks zRanger and the almighty Graf's knowledge.
  8. Is it something I said or is it that these types of threads always create drama and trolling?
  9. Not going to work. People already tried that. However, do you remember the state of L2 back in HF, just before F2P[your attempt to login has failed, please try again later] was introduced? Top tier clans all dead, cemeteries of maxed level (85.100) maxed equipment (OE Vesper Noble) characters, with less and less of them (a decrease each month) logging in once in two weeks to use the anakim transform and defend their castle. Oly: all modes dead with minor activity in 1v1 Class Independent. Mid tier clans having some tp spot ganking in GC from time to time. There's no future for L2 with the subscription model. It's just not the time where people would play a game that requires such serious commitment as l2 requires you to. Especially in current model, where you cannot get adena nor drops unless you buy it for real money. However, if we would at least get Korean in-game setup (shops, events, etc.), that would make this game at least playable and would definitely make it less p2w. Otherwise, it's FULL p2w here, either you pay or you will never achieve anything, not even when running bots in GoG 24/7. EDIT: also, there are plenty of ingame exploits (like the lotto infinite adena) that make this game that much more one-sided, decreasing its popularity even further. Even my signature shows the infamous eXEQ"72h bans only"tor (Naia) abusing an exploit to attack someone who is in peace zone while also being in peace zone.

  11. Actually, the waterjet cutter will not work if the pipe is completely straight. So as long as you can afford not to make any turns in your plumbing, you can easily ignore superhigh pressure in your system. But enough liquid physics. You get what you pay for. OVH was always a shady french company in my eyes, but I guess ymmv. I see a lot of HF fanboys in various gaming related forums, but so far from their users I have heard that they have problems with legit, non-automated, non-high bandwidth traffic starts getting identified as DDoS and that it takes lengthy procedures and CS sessions to get HF to change their illicit traffic detection strategies. Once again, you might never hit such a thing while being a customer, but then again, multiple of your hosted servers might be affected at once instead. Therefore, if you value uptime, purchase services from the professionals and not people who are still learning how to operate. I think people already know what I keep recommending, so I will not repeat it to avoid accusations of spam-advertising.
  12. ai.obj At least last I checked, it's the NPC AI scripts (look in the whole hierarchy) that handles all these things (return to original location), including forced teleports back near the spawn.
  13. Just run it as a console application. Use any C# decompiler to find out the exact command line argument (you haven't specified the chronicle, by the way).
  14. Care to elaborate? Current networking is typical multiplexing, idk what interval is used. 10 ms? NP uses 1 ms by default, the smallest possible in current Oracle JDK 8/9 implementation (OS specifics still apply). But this only applies to networking, e.g. skills/effects still fire in individual TP threads, CP/HP/MP is altered in individual threads, etc.
  15. Look at RS. They have a 600 ms tick, which can grow up to 1000+ms during serious server stress. It's cancer. RS should be nominated as the #1 most annoying, unresponsive and abhorrent user experience MMO there has ever been created. Sure, there are certain things that are nice about having a large part of otherwise concurrent updates made lock free on a single thread. But I really believe it is NOT how anything that would claim to be a MMO should work. Exactly. The only time anoyone can understand just how l2j is not l2 is when you start implementing features exactly as they work in l2. For certain somewhat isolated features, you can do that. True. But for everything else, you just keep finding that you need something else working correctly, but for that you also need another feature to work like in l2 and so on and on and on until you understand the truth. The truth is that we all should have simply reverse engineered since prelude and c1. We had ALL the files, god damn it. Instead, we wasted time making something (some game) that can be played while using a l2 client. It's too late to start from scratch now. Unless you like having nothing to show off for years, and that's the biggest turn off for everyone involved. C# is a newer language than Java and it was created while having everything about Java in mind. It was supposed to be better. But as usual, MS prioritizes their own stack first, so it's not a full replacement for Java and unlikely it ever will be. In any case, old(er) languages always have a stronger hold over the market.
  16. Definitely not on C1. A red rectangle indicates an enemy. C1 Has that red rectangle on: Pledge war Alliance war For pledge/ally leader, the icon will include crossed swords (default C1 PTS clan war implementation will obscure this icon during clan war and only show if there is only an alliance war or you have personally surrendered to an associated clan war) During siege, an icon may be drawn in the center of the red rectangle: Flag (attacker leader) Crown (defender leader) Sword (any attacker) Shield (any defender) More information: RelationTypeC1 CharInfo.xml RelationChanged.xml P.S. A punch icon may have already become available in C4 (C3 pledge changes). T1 added those large square icons above the title, I thought you were referring to them at first.
  17. I think real icons were introduced with T1 (Kamael). A red rectangular icon at the title is the way l2 client used to show enemies back in the day. You can trust me, I tested all relations in Prelude Beta, C1 and then C4.
  18. weapongrp.txt should have the icon declarations.
  19. You can use any PE header editor to add new imports. All the key words of what buttons/menu items to look for are in the guide.
  20. There is a bug in Ertheia/IO/Underground where if players move while and for some time after you login, the client will not show them moving unless they eventually teleport or you double-click on them to follow (ONE click to target will NOT show their real position!). Sounds somewhat similar to what you reported here. Just a heads up that I receive daily TeleToLoc (validation = 1) on official servers because client fails to track even my own character's actual position. So don't expect much about correct position tracking from the client in general.
  21. There is no digital signature or checksum enforcement, so any hex editor will suffice. Obviously, if you want to edit a string and replace it with a longer one, or need a whole new branch of code, that will need an extender (additional memory space). Typically just make a Dynamic Link Library project (x86 for 32 bit l2server, x64 for 64 bit l2server) and do the patching you would normally do with a hex editor in DllMain method. An easy way to get DllMain called from l2server.exe is to simply modify the PE/NE header. There are loads of different tools for this, so pick literally any one.
  22. Idk, sounds like a perfect sentence to start a flame war to me EDIT: I meant OP's sentence, obviously.
  23. What. I can successfully run prelude beta (336), meifu C1, CN C4 PTS and GF PTS on Win2008R2. The problem is obviously inside the custom executable.
  24. Another pathetic extender, while the owner throws around claims about "complete l2server source".
  25. Any particular reason you used Helios' version of MT and not the original one from IO?
