Hello,
I try to add some armor pieces, i extracted using umodel some psk from fighter.ukx and i tried to re-add them in game, the glove looks good on the model, but the shadow looks like it would be floating, any idea what setting i am missing?

try deleting LOD 1, 2 and 3, and then set LOD 0's MeshSectionMethod to SinglePiece or RigidOnly, should work fine

i tried, if i set to singlepiece or rigid, the armor does not have animation at all, just floats.

result using SINGLE_PIECE

Here's the problem. Your mesh doesn't have any attachment sockets. (the mesh from the left is a mesh which works properly, the one on the right is your mesh)1.png

Do something, re-export and re-import the mesh you want to edit (this is just to reset the lod levels to default), after you import the mesh, open any other character package, for example, Elf.ukx, then select a _g mesh (_g is for gloves), then click on Copy Mesh Properties
zz1.jpg

after that, select your own mesh and click on Paste Mesh Properties

In order to follow these steps you'll need to use L2Editor, since it's the only editor i know of that can open .ukx files from the game.

Either way, if this doesn't work for you, just add the socket manually, and set the proper rotation on Mesh > Rotation, as well as the Translation in Mesh > Translation.

You shouldn't need to touch anything related to LODs in order for this to work.

ty for trying to help, i tried with socket and bone also for gloves, (the first time, i copied all properties from off gloves, no luck, same result ( i copied exact properties using lordfests l2editor)

here is my ukx with sockets attached for gloves (but this happens to chest also )

result using dynamic shadows (not simple).

this happens with chest also which have no sockets by default or any armor type that is not 1 piece.

This also happens with armors that are not 1 piece armors shared by others

here is the ukx, and the psk, who wants to try and send me i can try, or try for himself, just put dynamic shadows on and you will have the same result (IF ARMOR IS NOT 1 piece armor, but all parts separate)

The gloves i export with umodel from fighter ukx , i get the psk, i import them in unreal editor 2004,  add simple properties from original with same name, save. that s it. the gloves are fighter.mfighter_m010_g from any client (god),nothing special. but you can try with any gloves, any chest the result will be the same if using dynamic shadows for all armors that are not made as one.

original armors work fine, so is not a client issue.

  • darta changed the title to Armor's DYNAMshadow floating , general l2 edited issue?

Tested, works well. Exported with Umodel, imported to Gildor's editor, manually added coordinates + settings, so all works fine.

.

can you send me the ukx you are using?  are you using the one i shared?

i used lordfest s editor also.

PS:
What client are you using?
GO to options, if not click , click advanced shadows, alt p to reset
If goes well, untick advanced shaders , alt p and see result

I use with Gildor's patch from gildor.org

You can use this:

All ok with shadows and with minimal / maximal quality etc.

ok, i used the editor you shared, ty, added gildor's tool patch (which i donated for in 2010)...

same result.  on the shadow the gloves are floating, if i equip all 4 parts of an armor i edited, then the shadow shows up fine for some weird reason.

here is the ukx i use... https://wormhole.app/QZRoL#pIa_TNCBVJKHgdpeCz1ijQ

Please send me an ukx for a glove that works for you so i can simply test directly it s me or god client, or what the hell is going on, this is the 100th time i use different editor, setting, everything i can think about.

Since you did not notice for which protocol you are doing this and according to the interface from your screen, not for a new one, I sent you a file prepared for High Five.
