When will be opening ?

Not sure yet, we need to run a closed beta first and see if any major issues arise, depending on the outcome we'll have a clearer picture of the launch date.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ray one of the developers on INERA, I develop a lot of the server features and keep the code clean and friendly.

I will guide you from time to time to our big list of unique features!

So today we are going to explore the new tutorial system. Often when it comes to new servers, especially those that have a lot of new features; it becomes difficult for the community to grasp all the concepts. We attempted to do remedy this issue in season 1 in the form of a simple UI that would briefly explain some core mechanics of the server. Unfortunately we were not satisfied with the result.

The problem with the initial design was that it was rather mundane. We're not exactly about mundane here at INERA. Our design team likes to tinker with new ideas all the time. It is our absolute pleasure to come up with unique ways of projecting information, whether it be in the form of a new UI or something completely outside the box.

We settled on a more interactive tutorial, that triggers as players progress through the world. It would need to be highly visual and impactful, to keep the player's attention, but also to inspire them from a quality perspective. In the end, this is what we came up with and we hope you like it. This feature was developed by Sindelia for PlayINERA's Season 2.

Can ya'll just get started on L3 already?

Haha, wow, this just made us laugh. I sent this to everyone on our team. Love the comment.

While we're on the topic of progression, although not Lineage 3 worthy in my humble opinion, let's cover another useful feature we implemented into INERA: the system message editor. There are many different types of players, the professionals, the new school, old school, and the die hard fans. A lot of the latter types of players prefer to use their own interface or system message setup, but a lot of servers nowadays are making it harder and harder for you to edit the client.

At INERA, we have quite a few security checks to prevent tampering with our client setup. This is mostly for consistency reasons as we develop and implement a lot of new and custom UIs, often from a quality of life perspective. One such feature is the system message editor. We wanted to give you the freedom to modify parts of the client that you may have grown accustomed to editing, so we needed to build you a set of tools to do so from within the game. An example of this is our damage meter, which we covered earlier.

The system message editor is basically an interface to change your preference for the system messages, similar to how one would do so by editing the sysemmessage.dat file - client side. Our server comes with a predefined scheme that is quite unique and user-friendly, but we know that some players may have grown accustomed to their own style of system messages. So we've given you the interface to change it from within the game, save different schemes for different situations and change the style whenever you want.

You no longer need to edit the core file. Just edit it from within the game and pick your favourite scheme depending on your mood or style of play.

Enjoy.

I'll say it again, you guys just leap frogged the whole UI dev scene, you did what 3dfx did with voodoo to the graphics industry when it came out. It's all an amazing piece of work and great innovation you brought.

do you mean "client" or does it store the config server-side?

All players will start the game with a system message style comes with a predefined scheme that we created. It's our view of what an optimized scheme would look like, i.e. we've assigned color sets to all the messages that we think are important. This can be turned off as the guide suggests or you can make your own scheme.

As for how they are stored, @Sindelia would need to answer this question.

I've notified Sindy.

Thank you for your encouraging words. :)

The System Message Editor is a standalone client feature that does not interact with the sever. Players can define 'schemes' and customise the colours as well as the messages.

The client generates an ini file which can then be shared with other players.

The only limitation is that it is impossible to edit messages with more than two variables ($1, $c2) due to the fact that the programming language is quite limited.

Hope this helps. :)

Hell yea!!

Welcome back guys,

The best L2 server I ever played!

That is good to hear.

Now then, let's proceed to the Beauty Parlor. Being different is important, that is it gives us a sense of uniqueness. We see this in many games, from costumes to skins; it is important to feel like your character is special. Here at INERA, we pride ourselves on our work, but there is always an equilibrium that must be kept. For example, we can provide many different features on the condition that the execution is flawless or at least to a standard that is acceptable.

We implemented the Beauty Parlor on such principles. Adding different types of faces and hair styles to the game but in a way that feels professional, clean, and part of the game. There is a certain nostalgic barrier that we do not want to break. Therefore it is important to deliver new content like this in a non-invasive manner.

The beauty store is our work from the ground up, from the UI to the server side additions; it is truly a beautiful addition to the game and we hope you enjoy immersing yourself in its wonders.

We have over 150 different unique hair styles to choose from.

Exciting times!

Enjoy.

Inera is back, making L2 Great Again!

looking forward to this season guys, can't wait!

Ty Blue it's nice to have you back.

Now then let's cover one of our big updates this season: The Ability Tree.

The Ability Tree

This is quite a unique system and by now you should be well aware that the tree comes with Season 2 as a balancing agent since it absolves the administration from having to nerf or buff classes based on wide-spread opinion. Simply put, the community is often inconsistent with viewpoints on balance when it comes to mid-rates and that is absolutely normal because balance is a personal outlook and it can take the form of many different aspects.

We knew that it was necessary to balance the classes, but how? At INERA, we decided to go a specific route and give the community the ability to balance their characters based on their individual perspective thus circumventing the necessity to hard nerf classes. In this way we soft nerf the classes, your class may be nerfed to some players that hate it, and not to others that do not mind it. Personal nerfs, essentially.

In addition, we wish to expand on this concept in the future, providing more nodes with more unique play styles. There are limitless possibilities with our ability engine and we hope you see it the same way.

Our goal is to make the ultimate midrate which includes many different variables to juggle.

Balance is essential and our view is that it should be in your hands.

Balance your class. Balance your world. And balance your fun.

Enjoy.
