From what I remember, they stopped because their work wasn't recognized as their work, they were bored of leeching with dropped credits.

 

The fact is, either you are interested by a community behind your project or by money, you have to make such choice in the end. Open-source is a nonsense if you want to build a strong project. There are suddenly more ppl to help you when sources become semi-private / private.

 

PS : I don't see Street on L2Jps sharers, but he is still active on MxC so you can ask him eventually directly.
