  1. The same topic comes up time and time again. The "end" of L2 isn't due to the server administrators or the type of servers they create. It's largely because as adults, we struggle to find the time for economic and social stability. The reason I don't play L2 isn't that the servers are shit. On the contrary, many of them introduce fresh content in both PvE and PvP, bringing innovative ideas to a game that's 20 years old. The real barrier is lack of time our life demands. I can't commit 6-7 hours daily just to make consistent progress to keep up with the meta and not to find myself lagging behind a week. This isn't only on l2 but with the general idea of mmo. In the past five years, I've bought games like New World, Diablo 4, WoW, and Final Fantasy 14. But often, I find myself leveling up at my own pace and mostly solo since my friends and I have different schedules. So, what do I end up doing when I feel like gaming? I typically boot up a MOBA or FPS, play for a couple of hours on Discord with whoever is available to play, then shut down my PC and call it a day. Additionally, to stay on topic, I believe we're currently in an era where there are several stable projects for players to enjoy. Examples include Reborn, Classic Club, Talking Island, and Gold, just to name a few. As for the Aqua project, I've observed its launch and closure occur at a similar pace as those scam servers you've mentioned.
  2. Seriously, who suggests Contabo for production servers? For a staging server, they are fine. But the numbers they claim are totally fake. €31 for 60GB RAM and 10 vCPUs? I have tried Contabo in the past before going to production with 8GB RAM and 4 vCPUs, and the loading times were a joke in terms of the runnable programs and hardware ratio. Then we went for an OVH staging server with 2 vCores and 4GB RAM, and it was blazingly fast compared to Contabo.
  3. So i will answear some of those and i might cover some of your topics since i have some free time to spare. -Only 1 kind of protection? For example, a protection like SmartGuard covers everything? 1. SmartGuard, AAC, and similar BOT protection systems aredesigned to detect and prevent the use of third-party bot software by players. They are not server protections against malicious attacks on your server. These systems work by monitoring and collecting data to identify and block bot programs used by players. Their main purpose is to prevent players from farming 24h/7 and destryoing the server's gameplay and economy. No other protection rather than that. -I need to add protections, adverts, topsites and so on. -Where can I find good protection? 2. When it comes to protecting your server against various attacks, such as DDoS attacks and SQL injections, it's important for server administrator (YOU ) to acquire knowledge and implement security measures. These measures may include setting up firewalls, implementing detection systems, regularly updating server software, and following secure coding practices for any websites or applications connected to your server's database. While some VPS or server providers may offer built-in firewall solutions, but are not enough. 3. You can run your l2j emulator to any rented vps or bare metal server outhere. I dont recomend to go big and rent a big ass server with 32gb of ram and 32 core cpu since you will waste your money. Personally i prefer to go with cloud services since are pretty cheap and scalable if you need more without having to re install everything from the start. Some of those are hetzer , OVH and Linode (linode not offer windows server option). A vps with 8gb of ram and 4 vcpu is enough to run a good amount of players. Ofc there are other things you need to considered once you go bigger and bigger or what functions your l2j emulator has. For example if you want to run phantom bot engine with 1000 fake players you might need more resources. To conclude, before considering opening your project, set clear goals for the project. If you intend to scale it up, read up as much as you can. Otherwise, go ahead and open it, and solutions will occur as you encounter problems. Some self-explanatory guides can be found here: Follow these series, and they will cover many of your questions. Additionally, if you don't understand some concepts, try Googling them.
  4. If you describe the uknown field maybe we can help you. otherwise it seems like a generic post. No hard feelings.
  5. I dont think he asks to host server rather to play lineage 2 with maximum graphics
  6. You can add me in discord so we can discuss further. Thank you Giannis#2895
  7. Wow, I did not expect such an answer. But please don't be triggered as I was not referring to you personally but to the community built around l2j in general. From time to time, I follow your Discord and find many members to be a little bit cheesy. In other Discord communities, this is not the case, and I am not just referring to l2j. I am talking about other framework or coding communities where even the simplest questions are answered humbly, as if the person answering were talking to a four-year-old. I know that many people like it fast without any effort , but even a single keyword can help someone to find what they are looking for.
  8. Anyone is free to sell whatever they like. its an open market. I agree with some stuff but dont forget that many l2j developers dont share the knowledge for people to grow. You ll say go learn java or search some old 2008 guide how to implement stuff. The last 5 years all i see is shared stuff without any context or help from the authors. Simply take this complex feature, its a code for doing that. Good luck. Even if you know java you ll need to invest a great amount of time to undestand all that code written over the years which many of you here doing it since 2008 ? -l2jserver forums --- dead -maxcheaters --- milking market playgound -RU forums -- no idea -Acis , Mobius -- buy premium we are not talking to peasants. A good idea is not only to train the customers what to buy but also motivate them to learn. maybe some documentation with the classes ? Who will do that right ? EDIT: I also saw nevemore like the author post. dont you have l2jsunrise with locked jars for most part of your project? I remember hiring a developer to fix some stuff for an autofarm i ordered back in 2018 because players were standing in walls after a while and all geodata code was locked. Solution----> drop the source
How to deploy a website usign webuzo control panel .
  10. Just buy a vps and connect to it either via ssh if its linux distro or via rdp if its windows server.
  11. I have no idea what devstack you prefer to use but your backend work seems pretty interesting. Regarding the design though no offense but needs improvement. Since we are talking more about commerciality why dont you try new techs like laravel in relation with inertia.js and some js frontend library. With your knowledge in php and powerful ui design(tailwind css, MUI) you can achieve pretty interesting results.
  12. I thought the same regarding this to create an app with tenancies and the ability to apply their own domains etc. Then i thought similar exists (dont mention maintenance costs and personal time invest) , look at mmo web which is pretty expensive if you decide to iclude all their models. I hope to see something new to the market soon. good luck
  13. welcome back @splicho
  14. 27k income ? to who you ? you must be rich as fuck if you make 324.000 euro per year from l2 alone. mid range tech companies in greece should reconsider their business plan and turn their eye to private l2 servers. dont be delusional. sorry forgot to remove some percent from paypal and stripe fees.
  15. Last time I checked no one mention you either . But hey here you are flaming on another topic. Back to paint now you have money to make.
  16. Now that you joined also got cancer
  17. Well some projects pay 300 euro for AAC with 20 euro subscription per month and client users download dlls made from some russian guy in his moms basement. Dont mention that all traffic pass to some uknown origin server. I'm curious how many data those individuals have collected over the years. and in our era data worth more than gold.
  18. There are many ways you can restrict multiple accounts registration . Create a validation check by blacklisting a plethora of temp mail services. You can find huge lists online. You can use OTP phone verification. Services are pretty cheap , there are many packages ready to go with any framework or custom authentication system. Email verification Combine those 3 its a pretty good option to discourage many players to do something sketchy. But again you always going to have those who will find the way. As xdem said
  19. You have 0 clue and thats obvious from your QnA. And if this forum is full of retarded people (including yourself) why the hell even bother to communicate with us . Go find out why someone would use one programming language over the other first and the start advertising your big serious project. Programming languages are tools to make things that do stuff. You can even create mmo using javascript the hard part is to create something that actually works and your players wont give a fuck even if its written by a 5 year old. . About your no pay to win policy and all that bullshit servers use these days to generate income you contradict that with So its pay to progress. Only 90% of online games use this method. About your bare metal infrastructure please provide me a link. I want to rent a server.
  20. Now you felt good about yourself for a whole month. Go fight some br guy in private server section now.
  21. Multimillion Company wants to open a private server for 30 year old retards in order to provide free nostalgia. Yeah right. Just build a new mmo with those resources. Your post smells 2008 vibes.
  22. You said the same thing. Great you won a banana
  23. You will need a system made by some experienced web dev like the one Nightworlf suggesting you to buy. Regarding to your question google is your best friend. I have no idea what version of mssql but you have installed but you will need to create a user in your sql configuration which will have remote access through and open port in your system. Once you got connected you can query whatever you like from your database and display the data you need. Just download shared control panels and start experiment.
  24. Show me one line in this forum were i call my self a web dev. lol its not even my job. I am an enthusiast about web development and learning everyday, l2j was just the start to my learning curve. In adition the front end was not even finished by the time i left. It was a crap rip web with many of those assets already embeded it was a mess to begin with. so whats you point here ? But, you liked the fancy colors , you me and l2 atlas admin wanted to start as soon as possible so hey take this shit and apply it. Stolen front end from an open source admin panel meant to be used on such project ? Use common sense to learn what stolen means. l2nocturn has client assets and codes shared in 4 different forums. is that also stolen ? or because you have the legendary badge its ok not to use credits. You are a funny little toxic guy flaming everything and everyone when your own work represents your words. I didn't even bother with you until you started your meaningless attitude against my work on a demo version LOL. sql queries from atual? i am using eloquent now. Go create some cheap ass 30 euro logo and spare me.
