For acis I believe that they're a bunch of guys that's doing it on their free time. It's proven, over the years, that they're taking their sweet time about it. Meanwhile, is anyone else trying approaching L2OFF, that close, that isn't closed source?

Overall, I don't get the hatred that you've shown over the topic, it sure is bitter.
Also, to stay in topic, L2Gold doesn't need 100% OFF implementations in over to run properly, so Java will do just fine with a bit of tuning.

As you said, not everything was as good as they're now. The positive thing is that you have the know-how on fixing stuff, and that I can say with confidence.

Lots of gray area in terms of popularity and how it happened-happening, but the client upgrades alone, was innovative enough.

Keep up the good work, but let the comparison for the community.

from my experience this is false starting with a simple click on the map with a new character it feels different, anyone who knows this can tell more, in general i dont show hate for java, i just state the facts.

 

i could show hate for python in relation with java quests etc that were crashing yeah that would be hate because i think its totally bullshit combination

 

the part where i am selling was to make sure that you understand about the customer relationship i had.

what 911reg said, that difference cant be compared its more smooth and feels correct, now later on game if some weird customs make that l2off server bad is another matter, the basics for me is what win on comparison

I overall think that certain individuals' opinion is stuck on 2015 that Java files was actual piece of crap in so many perspectives.

L2OFF dynasty will certainly fall at some point.

That's almost what I meant when I said "With a bit of tuning". Of course, you can manipulate java to do whatever you want. The key here is that a Java is actually an emulator. If you calibrate the emulator correctly, you can achieve wonders.

Most players play on l2j, that’s why.

But the difference is huge  .. Every admin or dev knows it’s true

I dont prefer l2j, whether it’s x1 or any other type of server.

I would never say that, i think java has a good stage but not ideal for somebody who has played l2off

 

Generally the player base on this game has played so much in bug servers that they wont play in l2off files because the basics are not working as should notably the bugs, when those are fixed and or work out of the box in l2off the interest is lost.

 

Few would stay in a bugless server even fewer would make it worth while to pay for it, and the bots in my oppinion destroyed the game, if you find any topic with bot related share i express my negative oppinion that it kills the game, you play in a fake player server or a real player server renders automatically both servers and the game itself bad.

 

in 2025 servers has AI and Fake players before the server even begins, maybe start selling as a single player is the next step for lineage

What the fuck are you talking about on 2025? Did you ever played on any L2Gold server?
Do you know where it was hosted and what files it run?
 

It's particularly grating when people who haven't logged into L2 in years,
or worst, someone actively attacking servers, pontificate about L2J vs L2OFF differences.
Debating theoretical technical points while actual players just want stable, fun servers.

I am aware of well known servers that ran successfully on L2J as far back as 2010.

I always preferred L2Off simply because it is the official server platform.
It provides more accurate retail mechanics and much better stability overall.

Java comes with its own problems such as constant restarts, geodata issues, and quirks that add up over time.

I have seen some L2J servers run well, but for serious long term projects L2Off is the stronger foundation.
