LightFusion Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) It would be much better to use some of PTS server data converted from C++ to java(as some russians teams allrdy did), but minor functions can be used as they are now in java. And ofc if there is some need on rewriting key features(like characters interaction - moving/attacking/using items/skills etc) they can be used from PTS C++ func converted to Java, that would be much better option to use retail + java, then rewriting all from scratch. I found the packets but I had hard time looking for all the parameters they accept. Consider that you need to read client you have 2 options... 1 to copy other project to get their info (which instantly break your title "from scratch") 2 to make every single sentence from 0 to read client which will take ... xmm let me think.. im not sure that maxc will survive so long. lets admit it, codes are for clowns... the hard part are 3d models, animations, textures, 3SP etc L2 as many games are standalone without need a code or a server behind... anyway do what u feel is fine for ur time..
