Discussion So Boorinio Joined L2Jfrozen

Some interesting news. Boorinio joined l2jfrozen, a project that has no activity or implementation for the last 2 years or so,

and is really a joke for acis by now (even though acis isn't that great either atm).

 

So what do you think guys?

Also, Shyla made an announce in their forum about the current state.

 

Nefer is studying really hard for university.

Shyla is getting married soon.

 

They have no time for a project with so much work. So, they are looking for a new development team to work on it.

 

Boorinio is one of the appliers, so Shyla picked him. Everyone is free to register for project's developer and Shyla will choose.

 

Don't blame l2jfrozen, don't blame anyone. L2jfrozen is just a free project, that's why is not so good. Shyla explains EVERYTHING on their forum, just search for the topic.

 

I hope l2jfrozen will find a good development team to lead the project. Since it's free, since none get paid I guess they need some support.

To be fair i really hope that someone gets frozen and takes it to the next level.

It won't happen, because none needed to wait Shyla announcement to fork (or take back) L2JFrozen (or L2J IL or L2JFree IL or even aCis (for information I accept forks of aCis form the moment it uses free revision (not last) and it stays public in order mother project can benefit from fork changes if any useful !) and make a public source from it. It could be done since at least 3y, but none dared to do it. And L2JHellas was far to be memorable (quote me a single UNIQUE rework ?), and as it died (pretty much fast and in silence for IL community), it gives you the amount of leadership charisma of Boorinio (and about overall work, which has just been dropped to L2J"hell"as, uheuhe joke pro number 1). I got strictly nothing versus Boorinio (really, even if I use hard words), just... I got no clue about his work, because it was almost invisible. I never felt threathened by L2JHellas, nor felt impressed by timeline (well I could say the same about L2JFrozen).

 

L2JFrozen developement has been stopped since 3y (last year + the time lost with Vadim changes + 1 another year). There was 2 active years of developement over 5 years.

 

There is strictly none with enough leadership, knowledge and dedication (both time and "IL lover"). And I don't throw me flowers saying that. It's just a fact.

 

About aCis being a solution or not, I would say people using L2JFrozen "by default" (aka "aCis misses customs so I don't use aCis" behavior) shouldn't open a server at all, and would make terrible admins. And they harm L2J and L2 community. So not a big lose. aCis customer section got numerous adaptation of customs, that section of forums live without me, it is fed by customers for customers.

 

L2J project leaders got generally no plans, Shyla way of developement was (and we had a discussion about it) to visually fix whatever he could. There is no rework, it is just visual fixes to "hide" the terrible code behind. aCis takes a huge amount of time, but we reworked a shitload amount of code (should I recall you we moved scripts to java before L2J did ?). If you think there are flaws on aCis, you're free to help - there will have surely less flaws here than in L2JFrozen. Period.

 

Finally, I regret L2JFrozen being dead, it was my best noobs firewall. Now I got a lot of people asking stupid questions on my forums, ppl spamming 10 times the same PM. I got nothing versus newbies who try to learn, I'm generally happy to answer questions or give advices, but noobs... I can't stand.

As a resume, and it probably echoes a really old topic where I gave a similar answer (back in 2011 or 2012) there is no one enough talented (once again, it's not only a question of knowledge, it's an overall) to become the leader and create something "new" and "which will stay". For example, Elfocrash developement skill increased a lot over the last years, but his time dedication wont fit at all as a project leader. You can be almost sure after 1 or maybe 2y, the project will stop by lack of will.

About aCis website being down, it happens sometimes. Often due to DNS spread. Just wait.

About next aCis big rework, count on retail spawn system using territories. Something you don't find on a lot of packs, and probably never on IL. Hasha makes a really good work on aCis. The point being to drop all hardcoded spawns, it will also open the way for events and retail 7s system (did you even know than 7s got 3 different spawns lists ? Probably not, because L2J uses only once.)
