  2. Well I'm not exactly saying it's a big deal, but it always is that extra effort you need to go through that turns a lot of people away. If you got 2 servers which are nearly identical in settings and added features, you'll always go for the one of which you already have client downloaded (+know the skills, quests, locations...) And that's the problem, you know. It's hard to figure out something that isn't already there. Most options these days would be a roulette, but some of them may work (like some sort of craft-heavy quest-oriented PvP server with reworked quests to give you necessary items or whatever)
  3. Depends. It would have to offer something special, something that other H5 servers don't offer, because as it, most L2 players have Interlude, High Five and maybe Gracia Final clients downloaded on their PCs. This means that playing on Freya would require downloading a new client, in which case you need to seriously want to play on that server (unlike H5 where you can just download the system and if you don't like it then adios).
  4. Doesn't work anymore
  5. This thread is pure gold, how do I download it whole for archival purposes?
  6. Well... Dex then, I guess ;D http://www.maxcheaters.com/topic/209261-l2offl2dex-genesis/ Opening 25/11 Rates 25x Population should be 2k+ (at start at least) I mean it's not opened yet but right now the only populated servers are servers like Mid or Blaze which wipes like 5 times a year... Maybe I'm missing some but that's the only one that popped on my head
  7. Don't listen to those people, I'm pretty sure Maxtor will appreciate some help, I liked those design btw (and I'm the only one who matters on this forum anyway :happyforever: )
  8. 1) No "community" will "join" here, that's not how it works, it can only be (re)created overtime. 2) Because it would offer what these kind of players want, a complex forum for scripting/botting/trading for their games. Often when you're searching for this kind of stuff you're directed to dedicated forums of each game; having it all at one place is much more appealing. Obviously MXC would need to offer something extra like some sort of competition or other bonuses for activity (this would obviously require much more thought in it), but the fact is that people will always play videogames and will always want to bot/hack there or trade their stuff/accounts, so with proper advertisement it's absolutely possible. I never said L2 is dead, servers like RPG Club keep getting 5k at opening. Even though L2 is kinda specific in this case, because other games work on "some old players leave = some new players join", L2 is more like "some old players retire for a while = some other old players come back for the nostalgia". I'm just offering advice how to bring more traffic to MXC.
  9. You're never going to grow a tree in a flowerpot, and that's exactly how this forum operates right now. These games aren't dead, but those boards include almost exclusively Lineage 2 players who also happen to have interest in those other games, pretty much this: ^We need something like that. But this just can't happen without a complete restructuring and lots of advertising after that. Current traffic on other mini sections have literally zero information value right now. You need to look at each game's active playerbase and its potential for trading/scripting/boting etc.
  10. Classic Club definitely didn't have 400 people on beta. They already had a solid number at start but mostly they worked their way up... Same way warpgate can ^-^
  11. I'm glad that you keep this attitude, remember that Classic server is a longrun ^-^
  12. My point still holds. Start doesn't really matter as much with such extreme slow servers. It may increase tenfold within several months if it's managed properly,
  13. Stop with the tzatziki chit chat, this is a serious topic :y u no?:
  14. I really like it, it's basically the updated version of current forum. Just one thing that crossed my mind is the cheesy black and gold 'VIP-Member' button, it looks copy pasted from some low grade casino site or smth :happyforever: The VIP/Theme should remain more or less the same as it is now, nothing flashy Other than that - it's clean, it's simple and it's not far from what we're used to, so +1 from me.
  15. All y'all need to stop acting like this is some sort of Interlude high rate where if there's a DDOS attack for the first day, that's like 5% of servers' lifespawn gone because they barely ever survive for more than 2 months. This is Classic chronicle. It's entirely different case from what we're used to. Classic isn't about opening, it's about how it's managed through the upcoming months. Look at CC, it has more players now as they had 1 year ago during opening. And that's because despite playerbase occasionaly dropping they kept working hard on the server and players saw and appreciated that. Hopefully L2Warpgate will be similar. As I said, Classic is no High Five where month after opening everyone has 85 with full equip. On Classic, month after opening people are barely 50, so people keep joining it over time.
  16. Please, listen to us: Forum redesign is a nice bonus but what MXC needs is a restructuring. Check out what I've written few days back: http://www.maxcheaters.com/topic/209141-redesigning-redeveloping-maxcheaterscom/?p=2598055
  17. Forum down, I assume DDOS attack? Either way, good luck :)
  18. I like what that Andrew guy has... But enough with the sixpack, the design looks cool, too. :dat: #NoHomo Though the fact that we banned him makes me kinda suspicious he's going to hide some nasty stuff into the code which will burn our computers or something, but my 'Hello World' code in PHP probably isn't enough programming experience to understand these things :alone:
  19. Still, think about what I've written a bit higher. Whole world is about learning to adapt, websites are no different.
  20. I know this topic is about redesign, but what he said is legit. I'm still muchos into L2 but let's be honest it's not as popular as it used to be. And if anything's bringing life back to Lineage it will be a Lineage Eternal. This is MAX CHEATERS forum after all, so why in all heavens is it so hard to even find the subsection for the most popular games like CS:GO, Dota 2 or Hearthstone? I don't think it would be that hard to generate a massive traffic if the focus went towards what's popular. Apart from games mentioned above, MXC should also target the current trend bubbles, like overwatch or pokemon go. Speaking of the latter, take a look at the google's popularity charts of it: It's obviously too late now but Maxcheaters should have been there when the hip kids searched for the 'Pokemon Go hacks'. Overwatch is still somewhat popular, though I'm not sure for how long since it's similar case as Pokemon Go, people are really just playing Team Fortress 2 with girls in tightsuit. But that doesn't matter, 'overwatch hacks' = Maxcheaters forum. Right now when you visit the website it's like - - - General Zone (ok) - - - - - - HUGE Lineage 2 section - - - - - - League of Legends - World of Warcraft - - Other PC games - - - - some sillyass small trading/hacking section - - - - - GFX zone - - - - Offtopic - When it really should be - Announcements, News and Competitions (newbies introduction is not necessary, reports can be put somewhere else so it doesn't take slot in the front either) - - Current 'General Section' with the General Marketplace, could be exactly as it is (the 'section' from the bottom with the general hacking/coding/webmasters etc.) - - - - - Some sorta FOTM section for whatever's popular right now, like be it Pokemon Go, overwatch or No Man's Sky. If it survives for long enough it gets its own section based on how big it got. If it's like No Mans Sky or Pokemon Go it would just go to trash (aka 'other games' section) and gets replaced by whatever's hot right now or is coming out soon - - - - - - MAJOR League of Legends section - General discussions, Guides/Strategies, TOOLS/HACKS/BOTS etc., MARKETPLACE, COMPETITIVE SCENE DISCUSSION - - - - MAJOR Dota 2 section - same subs as above - - - - MAJOR CS:GO section - same subs as above - - - - MAJOR Hearthstone section - same subs as above - - - WOW section - - - Lineage 2 section (keeping all the sections it has now, just compressing it a bit. Instead of having 3 sections of L2OFF developement, L2J developement and Client developement you could simply have 'Developement' that would branch off into those tree which would branch off to their own section. It's 1 extra click for everyone but it's necessary to create more space for other stuff. - - - Graphics zone, could be even bigger as it is now, adding some 'modeling' section or whatever if it's not there, or like dividing it into 2D/3D/photography etc. or something, I don't know, just ask people who go there how would they expand it - - - - - Maxcheaters corner is alright as it is, maybe drop the 'introduction' and 'report' sections here instead of announcements - - - I understand that Lineage 2 right now creates the largest traffic right now, but realize that people aren't going to stop going here if they to scroll a bit lower for L2 stuff, but right now we're missing people who play other popular games but don't have space here at all.
  21. Damn that achievement system is a pretty dope idea, +1
  22. AchYlek forever and always in our hearts. Never forgetti 10-11 when UchYlek joined this forum :forever alone like a boss:
  23. Hot damn, what a share :O
  24. Supreme, you put so much work into this it's almost fascinating and I wish nothing but the best for this project as it deserves it and more. However, isn't November 4th just too soon? Doesn't it require much more advertising? I mean - you're obviously opening it for players, not for money, but even then, and maybe even more so, shouldn't you be trying to gather as many people as possible for the opening? Announcing a grand opening of extreme low rate server less than a month before it takes place is a bold move and I'm not sure how it will turn out.
