To be fair your freemium system might work better than the completely opensource model. Nah, you don't know who might have the budget and the ideas but not the files to do something new and exciting. I'm not scared with packets, im really confident with them. The thing is that for many reasons that im not gonna list here, an Ertheia base the the best option.

Can basing it on acis would not be wise as it already uses packets for ertheia stuff like the clan entry system and all the stuff. Mobius as base is the best and kinda only option i have if i do this.

I am just curious. Would you guys want an L2j Classic project? See the reason i am asking is because people are asking for it lately and as the classic eu server is laucnhed, mining data and info to develop the classic l2j project would be easier than ever before. My only concern is that I myself don't have time to play the official classic in order to get all the information needed but if people are willing to help then this would be a great way to fill some spare time. Here is a short video to show that there is an l2j base already in order to develop stuff. NOTE: EVEN THOUGH I WANNA DO THIS I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT DO IT IF I DON'T FEEL THAT IT WILL BECOME SOMETHING THAT I WILL BE PROUD OF. I WANT IT TO BE SOMETHING LIKE ACIS AND ACIS FOR ME IS THE STANDARD FOR EVERY PROJECT I AM MAKING LATELY.

That's the first time i see the phantom code ever, and now i understand why it destroy's your server's performance. Wow it is so 2000 and late coded.

But i highly recommend that you do not use it because ti will eventually crash your server.

Phantom is SHIT coded. On 400 bots it crashes your gameserver as far as i know and i am not quite sure that it is shared. Here you go. FOR FREE! DOWNLOAD LINK

That's not accurate in classic. The packets must be changed because essentially this is Ertheia client with modifications. If i do have a good packet sniffer then i am probably good to go. EDIT: I do have a ready source working with the classic client, if thats what you mean.

The easiest part is the coding. Getting correct and accurate information was is and always will be the hardest part in any emulation of software.

The hardest part for a L2Classic project would be packet sniffing and reports from the actual L2Classic official server. If people would do that then it would be a no brainer for me to try and make a L2Classic project.

To be honest the best thing that someone with knowledge and passion for l2 should do i start a l2classic project. Servers are there for testing and people already started moving backwards to that again. I would honestly love to work on something like that in my spare time but I'm not sure if people want to open l2classic servers.
