as i can see from your screens of the console there is a problem of loading the java templates..try update your java console on your pc or download the full new release from www.java.com

actually there is a property on the config file of some packs,im sure i saw smth like that before in a pack of mine,just search a bit your config on your pack,you may have it too.

i would say that you can just save your temporary disk that appears after start.bat and then after the full replace of the pack with the new just replace the disk(F) with the old one you saved,in this way your data wont get lost.as for custom developing that you made keep backup files and paste them after the pack update.hope i helped.
