  5. I see. Could you please post a screenshot of how it looks like when you launch the game? Right now, I suspect that the fade you're talking about lies in another image that is over-imposed to the splash background.

  7. BMP file format doesn't hold alpha channel. Only GIF, PNG, TIF and TGA do. I didn't dig into splash screens structure, but if it uses an alpha channel it must be stored somewhere else other than into BMPs.
  8. Drag the UTX file onto L2decrypt.exe > filename.clear.utx Open the *resulting file* in L2Tool to save a readable file. > filename.readable.utx Open this "readable" UTX file in UTPT. You should be able to right-click and export any texture within the package. "First mipmap as TGA" always works fine for me. :)
  9. Hello! ^-^ thanks to this community, I'm up and running with texture modding! I'll share something soon (need to finish it). In the meantime, I'm trying to learn how to add custom meshes to the game, like this: http://www.maxcheaters.com/topic/14091-guidehow-to-make-your-own-model/ The process for new meshes is to save OBJ then convert it with OAUKX_C7, but my client crashes with "serial size mismatch" error. OAUKX_C7 is supposed to be for C7 and up, so I thought it would work for GloryDays, too. Am I wrong? Is there an updated version somewhere? Many thanks in advance. :lol:
  10. YEAH! Today I managed to add a new armor and edit the chargrp.dat in GloryDays! Thank you for your last hints, I missed some info. :D Finally, mod time has come!
  11. Hm, let's see. This is my situation so far: * I can edit .DAT files both in GloryDays and H5, except chargrp.dat so no classic underwear patch for me... * I can open UTX with Umodel, but I'm unable to pack TGAs back into the game. * I can't open UTX with l2decrypt>L2tool>UnrealED, no matter if files come from GloryDays or H5. I know this process is old, but I'd be able to close and re-encrypt UTX into the game... * I'm unaware about how to create a completely new armor to add to the game. * I can edit maps on H5, thus I didn't try them in the game, yet. * I couldn't find any hint about how to add new models to the game. As you can guess, right know I'm pretty stuck with everything on both clients I'm trying to mod. :-\

This is the closest guide about 3D for L2 that I could find. http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,1320.0.html If you don't know about 3D in general, consider to start from basic/theory first. Whatever software is ok and there are plenty of tutorials on the web, just try google about your program of choice. Good luck! ;)
  13. I see. Still I'm not well aware about how to add textures and models to L2. I saw people adding new textures for armors and even animated models but I couldn't find much information about packing new stuff into L2. :(
  14. Hello :) I'm back with another question about client modding. I installed an H5 L2J server in minutes. Everything works fine. Still, I tried to edit UTXs with no luck. I've found this topic about rebuilding UTX pack from scratch. Will it work on H5 clients? Or should I pick an older client (I'm thinking about Gracia Epilogue because we want cloaks and kamaels)? Tx ^-^

  16. OMG it worked! I can't figure out why it didn't in the first place... Now I have directories and can access textures. :D How do I re-encrypt UTX for GloryDays after I finish modding?
  17. Hello, nice to meet you all! ^-^ I'm in charge of modding a friend's L2 rpg server. I hope to become part of this community by making and sharing tons of stuff. I'm a freelance illustrator and comic artist who role an L2 rpg server some years ago. It closed in 2007 but players were nostalgic. So a friend of mine started a sequel and I'm helping him out. Right now I'm having some troubles decoding UTX files from GloryDays, but I'm sure that together we'll work it out. I can't wait to start modding and share awesome new stuff for L2. :lol:
  18. Oh, is that my file working like a charm?! :O Then, I guess I have an outdated version of L2tool(o) which can't decode GloryDays UTX correctly. I suppose this is why users in this forum can share adaptions from even Lindvior while I can't open a thing. :huh: LE MEMER MASTER, would you mind sharing your L2Tool for me to try further? Thx! :lol:
  19. Hello LE MEMER MASTER! ^__^ I'm rather aware of the process, but it was 7 years ago since I modded L2... I tried as you mentioned, but it didn't work with my client's file. It worked on an older file (I suppose Interlude). However, in this forum I saw people sharing "new stuff for old clients", so I think there's a way to mod a GloryDays client as well. Here's a file from my client: http://l2elysium.furbina.eu/FElf.zip I'll keep on trying, maybe someone can check this file in the meantime and suggest me the right way. Thank you. :)

  23. Hello and thanks for your answer. Now I think I can mod smoothly... if only I could find Unreal Editor 2. Unfortunately, I lost my old files when I moved and I'm having an hard time to find UEditor2 online because links aren't working anymore. I searched for weeks and got every possible tool except the editor. :_( Could you point me to a working download or pass UEditor2 to me? Many thanks in advance! ^__^
  24. Hello everyone! ^_^ I'm a professional artist who ran a Gracia server many years ago. Recently, my friend set up a Lineage 2 private server and I'm helping him in my spare time. We'd like to "clone" armors and add self-made textures to them to achieve new custom armors. Unfortunately, I'm having an hard time in finding the right tools (expecially Unreal Editor 2) to mod the Glory Days client (protocol 479, encrypt 413). I searched this forum and the web for days and I'm stuck. Please, would you help me? In exchange, I'll gladly share our customs and accept requests! :lol: Many thanks in advance, Nime
