Alianza Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Hello Maxcheaters, I have another question for you guys. I wonder if there's any chance of handling the onTalk method of an NPC with the Interface.u. My idea is to talk to an NPC, and open a custom made window. It is possible somehow? Thanks for reading! UgliBiBagli Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 if you want to make it only client side then dunno but you could try making the server launch different event to be handled by client Quote

Could you give me an example of what you mean? Can I, for example, create a custom window and order the server open it? Quote
UgliBiBagli Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 use one of the events that are already available via the interfaces api and are rarely (or not at all) used on interlude (most probably we are not talking about low rate server here, so maybe manor?) [not a server guy, im just assuming its all easy and doable on java] on the server side make talking to the npc serve client with whatever packet you have chosen Quote
Alianza Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Ye, I thought about that. I'm using all the events, that's the problem :P Quote
UgliBiBagli Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 then make them send paremeteres specific for your -custom- request so its gonna me omitted by the actual handlers such ugly solution, but would work for sure xD Quote
Alianza Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Haha, you're right. Thanks again for the help, UgliBiBagli! Topic can be closed. Quote
Pulentolento Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Sorry for delay but are you trying to do for a l2off server? Because to make a specific NPC have dialog in a custom windows, it is possible to do it using unrealscript or client side, (I'm assuming you have the compiler and the sources code fixed to make it work for int64 issues ). So in this case make sense of what you need. Also as the other previous comment, you can do it on server side but you must need L2j to make it work. Back to my point, the only way to make this mod on l2off, you must rewrite the script on interface.u cheers Quote

What I wanted to do was speaking with an NPC and opening an interface custom made window with its script on interface.u, instead the common HtmlMessageWnd. And yes, I'm using L2J. What advice would you give me? Quote
Pulentolento Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 But if you are using L2j, in my experience better do it on server side with HTML edition. Using unrealscript coding + Xdat editor it is a pain in the ass. You will save tons of time doing it on server side, believe me ;-) Quote
