Mobius Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 My version of L2.exe launcher made with vb.Net Using this program you will be able to use the retail client without having to modify your game client. The default IP is set to 127.0.0.1 for local testing. You can alternatively create a file named "connect.ini" in your system folder that contains your desired IP. Sources: https://github.com/MobiusDevelopment/L2 Release: https://github.com/MobiusDevelopment/L2/releases *You will need Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Windows 7 SP1 +) to be able to run it. *Tested on HighFive+ clients. 2
∽Ave∽ Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Ummm, whats the point? You hooked IP from L2.ini but You add'ed it connect.ini - whats the differance then? You can run the game without "editing" Your game client by creating *.bat file + _L2.ini copy with changed IP.But no one does that - beside client modders. Private servers will use L2.exe + L2.ini witch changed IP or useSmartGuard or L2SGuard with binded IP in L2.exe or - like it is in L2SGuard, with completely removed L2.exe. Modders - don't care if they have to use L2.bat or Your L2.exe + connect.ini.But maybe Im missing a point...? T_TEDIT:Ultimate share whould be executable file with option to bind server IP inside unpacked L2.exe, although, someonewill have to create liblary with unpacked L2.exe for each protocol revision :) Edited January 12, 2017 by aVVe
Mobius Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Already mentioned what is its purpose. -Avoid client modifications, in a proper maner. -Use latest untouched retail client to connect to your server. -Easy to use.
∽Ave∽ Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Visual Basic T_T It doesn't really matter as long it works.
Sdw Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 EDIT: Ultimate share whould be executable file with option to bind server IP inside unpacked L2.exe, although, someone will have to create liblary with unpacked L2.exe for each protocol revision :) Why ? oO

∽Ave∽ Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) I would highly recommend using or altering Zoey's code: https://github.com/Zoey76/L2 Really cool project. I was looking for something like that for a long time. Thanks for linking it. EDIT: Nevermind, lol. It's just shell>cmd>run bin with paramns. It's not what I was hoping for :happyforever: Edited January 12, 2017 by aVVe
Sdw Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Thats why: Really cool project. I was looking for something like that for a long time. Thanks for linking it. A shellexecute running L2.bin with parameters ? lol
Mobius Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Un-fucking-believable... Calling shell to call cmd to run l2.bin... Yes, really cool. Elfo, learn what a compiler does and then come back to post your arguments.
AccessDenied Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) *cough* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_C_Sharp_and_Visual_Basic_.NET Bitch please what is this 2005? First program language people tend to learn because handlers? Beside beginners all-purpose symbolic instruction code Let's ask all people who used VB why they switched to C# Edited January 12, 2017 by AccessDenied
xxdem Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I am well aware of it. I just can't stand people coding in VB in 2017. I would highly recommend using or altering Zoey's code: https://github.com/Zoey76/L2 It's written in C++ so you don't need .net to run it. And btw Avve the point would be that you can launch other services if you want to when you can create your own l2 exe "written in C++" FUCKS SAKE
