As i see you have 3 options:

Open the server w/o the 3rd farm zone and try to finish it and  balance the 3 classes after opening[players will help you]

Try to find a new partner[i'm sure you have many opportunities]

Try to talk with nhoke and work it with copyright

 

Finally you project seem to be likely by the people.I think you won't lose if you give it a shot

You know madbill, it would be awesome. However, hNoke has the source. I am not experienced in running a server. So running it alone without proper help would turn into a failure, looking for someone who is trustworthy, good enough to match my expectations and also "in the mood" to work on a server he has no clue about would take really long and that only leads to a delay...

 

I will finish DVC in the next week and then upload a patch for you guys to try it out. The server will be far from what I wanted it to be, but hey... did my best.

By saying the source you mean the whole packet??You know this forum is like the real life..You built your name and your fame here..If you ask then you should learn who is trustworthy and who's not.Anyway it won't hurt to ask..I will wait for the patch

Well...that's rather unfortunate...

I too was waiting for your server to open , so me and my clannies who have been wanting to play L2 in a well made custom server for years now , could finally play.

 

I can understand how you feel right now, the same thing happened to me 1 1/2 year back.

 

I 've been playing L2 for some years now.
I 've tried LOTS of different servers , retail and custom ones.

My suggestion to you is this.
Do ur part of the work and open the server when you are ready.

Even if it's unfinished , i'm sure that it wont be as boring as the retail servers nor will it be worse than the other custom servers are.

So , finish ur part , open the server , and i'm sure that there will be a few people in ur community (including me) who will be willing to help with tests, reports , ideas etc. 

Don't think so bad of hNoke , it's normal to lose interest and stop working on L2 , the game itself is made that way.

I'm not saying what he did is not bad , but shit happens...

Maybe he will have the reason he needs to start working if the server is up and running (even if its not in the state you want it to be)

Just like my friend Royal said , i'm not playing L2 anymore , but i really wanted to play on Nexus.

 

So , imo , finish ur stuff and give it a shot.

Got nothing to lose.

Thank you Primezero, that is exactly what is going to happen and that is also exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Even if I won't be able to maintain the server alone, I will fix as many things as I can so if one day someone decides to run this server, majority of the work will be done already. hNoke sent me a message saying, that he really wanted to open the server during christmas time, but the time is too short for him to fix everything, especially since he still did not touch things.

By helping you , i am also helping myself and my clannies.

We all want to play in an awesome server , really bad , so i would like you to have an awesome server up and running.

 

Great then , finish up ur stuff , set a "live date" and see how it goes.

hNoke can catch up later , using the tests / reviews of ur community as his help/guide as well.

Plus , u dont have to hit online counts of thousands from day 1.

Give it some time , u may have "few" ppl in the first days , but i'm sure that if u offer a good , quality server , more ppl will be joining daily.

It sure beats the version where u start having more ppl , losing them day by day.

I would rather have a lower amount of players in the first few weeks, it's a lot easier to keep everything under control and to pay more attention to everyone.

There is no site or forum yet, not even an updater. This will change, tho.

 

Building up the server from close to nothing is a far better feeling than bein overwhelmed by a few hundred people at once, anyways. Also managing the server with less people is far easier, as I don't have much experience when it comes to running a server. Will see guys, will see.

 

It feels quite good that you are still sticking with the server, even after the chain of bad news you just got, really makes me work harder and more motivated. Thank you.

Yep , u're right there.

It will be a lot easier for you to control with less ppl.

Create your forum with the proper sections etc. open a test server first (beta mode) where we can test , report etc and you can start working with the help of the community.

 

It's good that u feel that way.

Most guys i've tried to help with their servers didnt even care , i think i cared more about them for their own project , lol.

I've been through this many times , so i'm not surpised or dissapointed , mb a little "Sad" but noth more.

I just hope that u are willing to go on , and that this will really happen eventually.
