Its for statistics, we need them to make calculations, about server machine, farm etc.

We need to know the number of players that will join at first day.

but u have to now that the number which will answer on ur poll maybe is not even the half of the player who will join...

Yes we know that. Not all players like to stay many hours in forum, websites etc, they want only to play.

So we will multiply the poll number with a coefficient  and i think we can get a number that will be near to the number of players that will join in server at first day.

You won't be need to know how many people will join the first day as I guess there will be hundrends maybe thousand, the only problem will be it is how you will force them to stay.
