Legal protection? Sorry lost me. And yes nothing provides 100% protection but there is protection available that nobody has been able to use L2Net with...yet. Hell you don't even have to go that far but at least do enough to keep the kiddies from being able to bot :P

Didn't bother reading this whole thread. All I can say is not another PlugNPlay, custom, POS, that we see 50 a day popping up. Take your time and open something that is actually high quality...they all say they have this and that and have been in development for XXXX months...but 98% of it is BS. People will know (at least the ppl that matter) within a few minutes of joining your server whether it's worth their time. If your doing your own shit 8 months isn't nearly long enough IMO. /rant off

The site is already for the most part finished so I can't really port over. Security I realize with Joomla needs some work especially extensions but will be going over that with a fine tooth comb. For page loading I haven't had problems with slow loads yet with Joomla...do you know what might cause it?

As far as I see nothing to do with L2. If you can make it L2 themed would be interesting :)

Only problem with hetzner is they don't offer anything faster than 7.2k harddrives. Been awhile since I looked at their site though. If so thats too slow for a serious server.

Usually costs a bit xtra but sit yourself behind a Cisco. There is also D-Guard and Black Lotus as possible solution..Black Lotus being the best of those obviously. But as others said a script isn't going to do anything against a real attack.
