Eh... that font! In my opinion, if you make a logo, the text should be easily readable. Thus I would have picked a different font for a logo like yours. I mean yeah you can still read it but I think you get what I mean. Other than that it looks quite good :) (ie. the S of Devils looks like its the first capital letter of the second word - when it isn't. Just an example)

How is that render "low"? lol I like that, I prefer the version with text, the other without just looks too bland and empty to me. But as you said, that background is a little plain. Perhaps you could have at least messed around with brightness and saturation and colors a little more, I'm not sure. It looks rather "bright" as well. That's something I not necessarily fancy, but overall it looks rather decent.

For your Logo: Wrong Font. Choosing the right font is more than half the work done with logos. And yours isn't right, in my opinion. You should have chosen something simpler, more basic and easier to read instead. And if you used Bevel and Emboss, you used it wrong. You made it look glossy and I don't think that looks good ie. it does not fit for what you were trying to accomplish. For your Banner: The characters stick out way too much over there. They're aren't blended in at all. And I would have liked it if you put SOME kind of (faint) border around your banner. Having it like that looks a little dull to me. For your Union Banner: I really just think it's the background that bothers me most there. It looks so... over saturated somehow. Unnatural :P But keep going with what you do. If you stick to it you'll get better eventually.
