  1. @_@ HyperFilter is giving 20% permanent discount in any server. :happyforever:
  2. Well, still who has the best budget will get the best service, but I don't even have to mention this as this is the natural course of the things lol. Anyways, you can start with a server in hetzner.de for example and use HMPP from hyperfilter (this would cost more than 50 euros, probably at 90~120 euros range) but still you would have a nice service :)
  3. Not necessarily, because with their HMPP Packages, you can upgrade it in the same steps as your server grow.
  4. OVH is good if you are not a frequent target, but if you get ddos many times (people making fun out of you), then yes, you will have problems indeed. However if you use HyperFilter you have 'some' advantages : 1) No downtime or disconnect during any attacks you receive. 2) No lags or delays during attacks at all. 3) Your game latency (L2) will reduce by 150~200ms (Like battleping/wtfast does), if you don't trust it, check the latency with windows monitor, to your server, you will see by default L2 latency is 150~200ms, try to use HyperFilter HMPP or HPP and you will notice it will drop to 20~30ms. (This is really interesting, as it reduces the default latency of L2 introduced by ncsoft). So yes, it costs more, but it is also better :).
  5. You had started the sarcasm when you compared the service pricing with the pricing of a cheap dedicated server without even knowing the differences genius, it is the same as comparing a horse vs a donkey and judging that the donkey is better because it is cheaper ^_^
  6. Without any proper protection against Layer 7 attacks, genius.
  7. It is not hard, just modify all "return false" to "return true" and recompile LS and GS.
  8. Well, you wouldn't have to worry with the webserver setup and layer 7 ddos attacks in your local webserver, causing you a lot of hassle :)
  9. http://www.hyperfilter.com - ddos protected and mssql allowed.
  10. Yeah :), I can't disagree on you, but sometimes there might be people that may consider better stuff if they know it even exists, so just spreading the information is cool.
  11. I forgot to mention other important points : 1) OVH bandwidth is really cheap, they don't pay for tier 1 carrier connectivity, neither pay for premium bandwidth, so your traffic will always have second priority. (It means even lag/latency or disconnection issues for some of your users). 2) OVH will not do automatic geo/routing based on best location for your users, they don't offer this in their service at all. For obvious reasons, they want to offer the cheapest servers/vps as possible, and for this, they will have to reduce the quality in certain aspects. Still if for you, it is enough and works fine, it's great, but they aren't indicated for anything serious, except hobbies. Tell me any great company that is using OVH to host their services nowadays? Besides a bunch of resellers and young people trying their hobbies there, you will rarely see this :)
  12. I will not discuss :). We aren't speaking about OVH here, they are cheap, suportless and works as is, if for you it is enough, great. But OVH, is only for small players / budgetless users... if you want anything better, and there are better options, then you must seek for serious companies, like Prolexic, BlackLotus, HyperFilter and so on, which are specializing 'only on this' and not using a ready/basic solution as OVH does for everyone :).
  13. Right, these packages are for small/medium projects :), if you have a big project then you should look for the enterprise packages as well.
  14. http://www.hyperfilter.com/micro-protection/ <- You can't afford this ?
  15. If you use HyperFilter, you will have actually a better gameplay than if you hadn't it, they work like battleping/wtfast and makes it better for most of the players :)
  16. I can confirm that regular l2off scripts (mssql) works fine in HyperFilter :)
  17. I am not aware about how they are operating, but if you prefer to avoid any type of trouble (don't want to risk), just opt-in to work with existing/established brands. This way all should go as expected.
  18. I will give you another advice, if you don't have any experience, please don't try to make something big, it will fail. Your way is 2 steps behind, by trying to first make a small server in your home, testing it, learning it. After it, try to make a small server using some VPS or something like that... Then probably after this you will have the answers to your questions, there are no shortcuts on this.
  19. Don't trust you will get 1500 online, there are no 'real servers' getting even close to this, you can expect 300-600 players and this is the max. You will not have any lag or delay, actually if you want an advice, companies like HyperFilter does pay for 'premium bandwidth' with Tier 1 network carriers, that means your players will have the best connectivity as possible, if you compare it with the connection of the 'budget datacenters', they are paying for massive bandwidth, but to the cheapest Tier 2/3 carriers, and they always will have a low priority for sensible traffic, meaning a lower connection quality at the end.
  20. Following the tip by @SweeTs you will do well with any dedicated you get in Europe and Micro-Protection of HyperFilter : http://www.hyperfilter.com/micro-protection/ For server : http://www.hetzner.de http://www.worldstream.nl http://www.leaseweb.com http://www.server4you.com http://www.ovh.net
  21. some friends are trying to play on your server but seems to be not working ?
  22. Here too : http://www.maxcheaters.com/topic/140261-hyperfilter-dosddos-protection-and-mitigation-solutions/ Top #1 service.
  23. Well, however you understand that even 'high end servers' are not adequate to perform any type of content filtering right ? Because it may compromise multiple customers if all the filtering are performed in shared non specific hardware... Anyways good luck with your business. :)
