Flavio Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Jezus christ, im kinda scared at the moment. My computer made a lot of weird noises. Its not the first time it happens. It happened before like a week too. I restarted the computer, it made some Disk Checking before starting up a windows and everything was fine. I was just watching movie when suddenly, noises came again, and everything lags. Literally, when typing, sometimes the screen just freezes and continues in 1-2 secs. Also for the mouse movement, while listening to songs etc. So what the hell? Is it going to blow or what? I did nothing and all the sudden it acts weird. Since i decided to restart (thats how i solved the prob last time, actually bypassed, didnt solve it since idk what the hell is that) i had some troubles starting up windows. First, that "Checking" i was talking you about stuck at 92%, i waited and restarted computer few times afterwards. Then i stuck at black screen with text: Disk problem blabla (I dont actually remember the message)... I plugged off all cables and then plugged in them again. It began that "Checking" thing but i clicked a button to skip it. Now here i am, i succeeded starting up the windows, but freezes arent gone as last time. I just ran a scan with anti-virus, waiting for results. Do you guys know whats the problem? Im really pissed of on whatever is going on. Thanks in advance, i'll appreciate every good/useful reply! <Edit> lol, its getting worse and worse (im testing with song) Quote
Vazelos Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Ok Flavio, first clam down... it is just a P/C. Second.. The problem sounds like hardware I am sure it is not a virus. Seems it's time to buy a new P/C or replace some parts. Quote
Flavio Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Thats why im freaking out. How the hell to get a good parts with no money ^^ Yeah, i think its not a virus, i red something on internet about freezes. Im not sure though why last 2-3 times this happened i just restarted and computer worked just fine. Quote
Flavio Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Sorry, d.p I just restarted the computer. Some details about that "Checking" i was talking about. Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS One of your disks needs yo be checked for consistency CHKDSK is verifying files (Stage 1 of 3) CHKDSK is verifying indexes (Stage 2 of 3) CHKDSK is verifying security descriptors (Stage 3 of 3) 100 Percent completed Verifying Usn Journal Usn Journal verified. Then some fast msgs i couldnt read. And then a a bit long (more time than usually) startup. Quote
Flavio Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Triple- post lol. So i was watching CPU activity, it goes from 10 to 15 with youtube and mxc opened (no other programs, just chrome). And when i click refresh page CPU jumps to 50-60% loled. That aint normal as i know. Even some basic things as fast refresh desktop (F5) affects on CPU, long fast mouse movement lol, starting a program/entering the folder, new webpage etc. CPU goes like 40%+ Is that normal o.O ? Cause i dont think it is. Quote
Azizka15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It can be caused by overheating the tower :/ Sometimes it maybe a virus, like a backdoor Trojan Quote
Versus Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Does your computer make a sound like Ding ......... Ding .......... Ding ............ and so on.. I'm trying to write it down the best i can ;D is "Ding" understandable? :P I put the dots to let you know that some seconds pass between the sound. Anyway, if your pc made the check and everything is fine, probably you have nothing to worry about. Do the following: go and check if the connection between your power supply and hard disk is intact. Power supplies got wires going literally everywhere, at each part of your computer. Check that connection, check if the wire is connected fine. Push it a little bit and ensure that it's ok. I'm not sure if that's a problem of your hard disk but it's normal (if it's damaged or not well connected) to freeze when you are trying to access files from it (like when you were watching the porn movie). Reptant_ Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Check CPU cooler if you haven't cleared it for long time,it overheats and make a weird noise if this is not the problem, just check the HDD you should be ok Quote
Flavio Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Yes Versus, it makes sounds like... diiiing ..... ding ding ... diiing ... Like he's starting something and then stops it right away. PC is lagging less now since i've done that "Checking". I got shocked lol, i tried to do something with my PC turned on lol. Imma check all you guys said. Thanks! <Edit> CPU while watching movie - 50-80% lol Quote
Flavio Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Tried few things. To clean from inside (of dust) and some clean registry program or w/e. Its still lagging, CPU is 50% while scanning with antivirus and nothing else. So sick, im so pissed at this shit! So its CPU problem? Virus can affect speed too i guess, didnt actually finish that scanning since computer just freezes without unfreeze some times. I guess if no viruses, its CPU. Is CPU removable/buyable as CPU or it needs to be bought with the block its placed on? P.S It sounds like when burning something (i mean with nero / copying discs or sending data to disc). Quote
Versus Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Of course you can replace your CPU. Since we got the example with the movie, check this, does your CPU remain at 50-80% during the movie or only at the movie's start? (i mean when you open the file) Again it sounds to me like a hard disk issue and not CPU's. And even if it's running like 50-80% you shouldn't freeze, maybe lag a little bit but not freezing. And that sound is most likely caused by your hard disk. Why don't you try removing and putting your disk back, or even better replacing the disk with another one. I'm not saying to buy a new one since we are not sure about your problem, maybe you have another one, or you could take your friend's? Quote

When my PC is idle CPU is 10-20% lol. And no, when i open for example youtube it freezes, and continue freezing after the song is fully loaded and buffed... I tested on my other computer, CPU goes high only on open of the page. Even though it doesnt even freezes while opening. On my 1st PC (this one) it lags when opening and when listening/watching movie etc. I cant even play CS, it freezes too often and i ended few unneeded processes like YahooWidgets, AntiVirus etc. @PaoKole Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU, E2140 @ 1.60GHz Quote
