a police officer gets shot in a chase scene and wakes up after months overwhelmed with walkers (as you'll notice they will never call them "zombies"). The streets and the houses are full of them, any noise will distract dosens of them on his side to eat anything alive. In look of his family he makes his own group in order to survive from this catastrophy and fix whatever turned them to walking dead.
