Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction in historical context:

Lineage II, since it entered pay-to-play service in October 2003, has seen a total of 15 small- and large-scale updates in two different sagas: "Chaotic Chronicle" and "Chaotic Throne." In November 2010, after seven years of pay-to-play service, Lineage II will make the world premiere of its third saga, "Goddess of Destruction," at G-Star.

In the new "Goddess of Destruction" chapter, the story develops between Shilen, who emerges from a long sleep when the fourth seal of the Seven Signs is broken, and the Humans that join forces with the Giants to resist the Goddess of Destruction.

A large-scale update accompanies the introduction of entirely new game elements--"Awakening," the fourth class-change system and core of this update, R-Grade items, vast new territories, and Raid monsters.

This update focuses on enhancing the dynamics of combat mechanics in response to the latest trend with the most advanced technology, but it stays true to the fundamental values of traditional MMORPGs, as they have evolved over the company's seven years as a leader in the industry. With this new update, Lineage II's combat system is fundamentally revamped for skill-focused, fast-paced, stylish action while retaining its easy key controls.

Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction lore:

(This story is continued from the November 3, 2010 Sneak Peek post in the Latest News section, scroll down to view.)

The Goddess of Destruction has awakened, and the Humans have joined forces with the Giants to resist her.

When the fourth seal was broken, Shilen, the Goddess of Destruction, awakened from a long sleep in the darkness. In effort to eliminate the remaining three seals that confined her soul, Shilen sacrificed her followers in the Necropolis and Catacombs, using their dark energy to summon the "Dark Moon," which would be her eyes upon the world.

When Shilen exhaled bloody air, the sky turned red. Fear and anxiety encroached upon the world. Soon, when Shilen sprayed her blood over the continent, monsters drank her blood and became extremely violent, destroying villages and wreaking carnage across the land. Countless lives were sacrificed, and villages and ports were shut down one by one.

The Goddess of Destruction dropped and broke an item called "E Sagira" in order to release the spirit of the Giant Hermuncus from within. Shilen and the Giants went back a long way: She had once approached and persuaded the Giants, a tribe that desired to become gods, to steal power from the god Einhasad. However, the Giants incurred the wrath of the God and brought themselves to ruin. Their last survivor, Hermuncus, hid Einhasad's power somewhere deep in a lost dimension, after realizing that his tribe had been used by Shilen's evil conspiracy. Shilen dropped E Sagira, hoping to seize Einhasad's power, which had been hidden by Hermuncus, while inevitably giving the Giant a chance to revive his tribe.

Hermuncus, thus awakened, laughed at the gods that had ended up confining themselves while struggling for power against each other. Determined to release himself from his shackles and reclaim the world from his nemesis, the gods, Hermuncus made a proposition to the panicked Humans, who, at the verge of the end of the world, were unable to communicate with their gods. The Humans reluctantly accepted his proposition: to help him revive his tribe, in return for which he would awaken their latent power.

They are trying to revive lineage II. That's wrong, they should go for Lineage III instead of trying to revive a dead game.
