+1 For SMF cause its easy free and very light , it also has a big and active community to report bugs etc.

Although I know Vbulletin is safer , but its not free.

I voted for vBulletin, its simply the best, if you know how to make a good forum vBulletin is much better than the others.

VBulletin of course. It's the best software for forums.

 

SMF is quite easy to configure and open, but it doesn't have so many mods, packages etc as the VBulletin one. Also don't forget that VBulletin is NOT free and SMF is Free (that means something)

Yea i have seen some vBulletin forums with dozens of mods.And thats a thing i like but isnt it slow? I mean i have heard its from the slowest kinds of forums.

Actually that means nothing generally (you pay windows but linux is free and better.)

If SMF evolves i think that it would be a good competitor for Vbulletin.
