From a preconfigured pack you may learn very much things! Also you may learn from gm servers...

I had also started from killer009 pack!

 

Yes open your own server ALONE test things that you wanted but don't let anyone join because they will waste their time (the players)

Preconfig packs DO hurt the community. It doesn't matter WHY people make the packs, the point is that they DO harm the community. Packs are for retards who can't be bothered to learn the code and do things for themselves.

 

There's a bit of a learning curve involved in setting up a server normally (which I have to say, has gotten MUCH easier since I started, so the new ones have an even easier time than before). The packs allow any retard to do it.

 

I am ALL for automatically deleting posts that link to ucoz, .tk, and whatever other free hosts start to become popular.

 

And not to bash on the greeks, but damn, you guys open more servers per day than any other group of people. Control your 14 year olds and tell them to knock it off!

L2 Wap-Arena is a succesfully server that started from home and ucoz!

 

He will remain in ucoz but will change host on NGZ Servers...

 

so ucoz is not the problem...

 

what would you say if there was a preconfigured pack with full add-ons and fixes?

 

everyone would use it...

All of you must understand smth..!!

 

Pre-configured packs are ONLY for tests! You can't open a serious server!!! For a serious project you must work a LOT! That's my opinion :)

@Zero* you cant open a serius server but you can make a global server as with a simple pack...

 

Preconfigured packs doesn't hurt anyone expect some ppl like Intrepid that can't find a server not to have lag, bugs, exploits, etc...

 

 

for examble at l2 wap arena the packet hack warehouse exploit works...

      @l2naylondev Requiring a player to log in just for the sake of logging  seems exploitable. Someone could log in only to claim the reward and immediately leave, or repeatedly change their ip. So i guess  are there are additional protections in place ? such as locking the reward by account, character , and ip. It would also be useful to add a playtime requirement. For example, after logging in, the player would need to remain active for at least x playtime  before getting the reward or other parameters configurable by the xml.  I suggest improving the system before selling it.
