Hello guys... My gf's mother is being threatened by someone (unknown obviously) who stole her mobile and has access to a lot of personal information / files etc . He has sent messages through a fake profile on Facebook and also has made calls and has sent messages from her mobile... He is asking for money of course. They went to the police but they are taking a piss and they don't even pay attention... Is there any way of tracking either the Facebook messages' or the mobile calls/messages' location??? If someone knows something Pm me please because it's really important!

Thanks for your time... looking forward to hearing from you!

What's the phone? If her mother still has the receipt she can go to the mobile carrier or the mobile company itself and ask her mobile phone's IMEI to be blacklisted/flagged as stolen and eventually get locked.

Hack the satellite and track the phone number, just like in movies  :happyforever:

Police should be able to track the IP / telephone location, knock to their doors and.. That's the moment when bad guy knew he facked up. :you serious?:

Police? Nope, they are just simple pigs who go oink oink all day.

As for the IP/Telephone, it requires several laws to be followed since the judge will give the final OK.

You already know that even if they can find the IP, it might be a proxy, vpn or a public hotspot.

If someone gets a call which threatens life etc and he has proofs that he is threaten with SMS or other kind of messages,he should go to police and that guy will be detected via cellphone number ,since every single cellphone has an owner.

(At least in my country, every single number has been registered into someone's name).

Ofc he cannot be found coz of proxies (if not called via phonecall).U might need a lawyer to start that kind of actions tho

No lawyer is needed. Threats are taken as emergent situation.

SIM cards in the UK are verified with ID. In this case, they can report the number to police but this would not result in anything if it doesn't go further.

Well,i didnt read the first post and i read just other's.

In this case,he will need detective. The only way to detect a cellphone (generally speaking),its either having ur own app inside + internet to trace it somehow, either police/phonecall company which i doubt if they give anything without judge's force.

The easiest way and the fastest is a detective. These guys are good and their connections between "phonecall" providers and these are huge. They have inside men doing their job. They can detect everything

Did you even read the whole topic? He is sending messages from a stolen mobile phone.

Plus, why would you charge for a free shared image binder? Taking stuff from hacking forums and then selling them is not right.

//OP:

To at least minimize the damage, make the facebook account reset all sessions and he will be logged out.

    • SSAO was in the game but was removed due to performance. I will revisit it. We have god rays and volumetric fog already (mind you, the god rays are a low-resolution screen-space radial effect, and fog volumes are unshadowed). It is something else I want to revisit, but I need to balance performance and quality. The only thing we haven't added is depth of field, which I might look into.
    • Put your NC Soft rules in the Ass and shut da fak up! Nobody cares what theres money grabers think or write or claim! If not people like Elfo and other fans this game will be not known, NC Soft must suck the dicks to Everyone coz olif not people this will be another garbage.
    • the problem isnt the tech, its what you build on top of it. running a live server on a closed binary you didnt compile is risky by default. you cant audit it, you cant patch it, and when something breaks you dont have the source to know why.   the usual “but everyone uses the ncsoft client” is exactly the point. that binary isnt safe because its third party, its safe DESPITE being third party, for one reason only: 20 years of thousands of ppl tearing it apart byte by byte. whole protocol is documented, no surprises left. if it had anything weird in it we would have found it a decade ago.   this client is the opposite. its a fresh binary that a couple ppl looked at for a few days. and who made it matters. ncsoft is a dead corp that couldnt care less about your private server. this one is from a project thats alive, from someone who most likely doesnt want his client running someone elses server. im not saying it has anything in it. im saying you cant audit it and the author is not a neutral party. add that this same thread shows it gets reversed in days, so it gives you zero protection and full dependency.   for a weekend project who cares. for something with real players i wouldnt build my server on that.
    • Can I suggest some things. I'm not experienced with 3D graphics but I have the belief that they are easily implemented with high impact: Screen-Space Ambient Occlusion : Can this be added for mesh/objects (not npc/players cause it might be too tough on performance). Volumetric Fog / Gods Rays : Going through trees or local structures / meshes such as ruins, this will look amazing.   Depth of Field : I'm not sure if this is going to look good, but when you target a player, make the game focus on that layer of distance ?
