crackerman Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 crackerman, that sounds like a verification problem Do you have the regular hosts for walker and l2asrv/equivalent? I used the l2asrv and host files found in this guide. At first I added the hosts file to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc but it kept dissapearing. I noticed that I have another file in their called lmhosts so now I have just edited that file and added the 127.0.0.1 localhost # OLD L2Walker Verification Servers 127.0.0.1 vip.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip1.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip2.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip3.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip4.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip5.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip6.tt2xz.com 127.0.0.1 vip7.tt2xz.com # NEW L2Walker Verification Servers 127.0.0.1 vip.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip1.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip2.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip3.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip4.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip5.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip6.towalker.com 127.0.0.1 vip7.towalker.com to the end of lmhosts file. I figure it must act the same as hosts did. I'm running xp media edition 2002 sp2. Quote
sltbnjr Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 hmm it keeps disappearing? Are you sure you're talking about the PC running walker's hosts and not the one running bakeice? Quote
crackerman Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 hmm it keeps disappearing? Are you sure you're talking about the PC running walker's hosts and not the one running bakeice? You know you just helped me figure out the problem. It was the host file. It was dissapearing before when I was running from the bakeice system folder and that's when I edited LMHosts. Since I am running now from a clean folder the hosts file stays and everything works Great! Thanks again. Quote
ZoOoOoM Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 lol... ur problem would only happen if u run the bakeice launcher and started the game, cause only in this case ur hosts file might get deleted so.. dont run bakeice on walker pc.. and if u did, remember to put hosts file again Quote
Nero Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 It's hard pass by bake ice, i think will work now. e_e Quote
unamzxo Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I have been trying to do this for another server(caliburnl2, similar, bakeice, etc) mostly working fine but i am getting the same problems that Shadgan was getting(except it seems it got fixed) basically i cant run off the clean client, l2 doesnt start, if i replace it with the l2.exe for caliburn then it gives me errors so i tried the dragonnetwork system folder which game me the same error as Shadgan(font file and gameguard) ideas? please and thankyou :) Quote
Shadgan Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I have been trying to do this for another server(caliburnl2, similar, bakeice, etc) mostly working fine but i am getting the same problems that Shadgan was getting(except it seems it got fixed) basically i cant run off the clean client, l2 doesnt start, if i replace it with the l2.exe for caliburn then it gives me errors so i tried the dragonnetwork system folder which game me the same error as Shadgan(font file and gameguard) ideas? please and thankyou :) I have the solution :D error of gameguard and problem starting cliet using l2 its for windows vista. -1st disable paternal control. Control panel/users/paternal control -2nd go to .exe of ur client, rightclick , run compatibility whit windows XP SP2 that its all^^ Quote
unamzxo Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 ty for the quick response, and yes that works well thanks , the gameguard error doesnt show up anymore but i cant type in my info or type in anything in the boxes.. lol ;o EDIT nvm fixed >_> i dont know how, i think it was the system reboot, ty for our help and ty for the guide :D on my 'Official PC' i installed proxifier and l2 but as soon as i start proxifier, internet stops working on that computer entirely, cant start the game or browse internet, etc any ideas on how to fix that? Quote
sltbnjr Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Go Options-Proxification Rules select "Process Only the following + manually proxified" Add a new rule select gameguard.des in system (it is an hidden file) I've seen a bakeice server use game_guard.des instead... select whichever is there ZoOoOoM should add that step to this guide because if you don't specifically set what you want to proxy, it will proxy every single connection Quote
unamzxo Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 thank you very much sltbnjr! i am very close to getting it done now i can login and stuff and i get to the character loading screen buuuuuut its empty, no character there and i cant make one either, anyone else encountered this? am i doing something else wrong or is this some sort of server block ;o Quote
