What'sup everyone! DrizzLx here, lead developer of a new "coming soon" Hi5 15x (35x w/ vitality) Lineage 2 server. I'm looking for everyone's opinions and ideas on what YOU would love to see in a Lineage 2 server. Keep in mind this is a low-mid rate server. Let's get to it! I'll list an overview of what we have so far and feel free to criticize it or suggest something!

 

L2Symple is dedicated to bringing back those long-lost precious memories we all have of Lineage 2. We are veteran retail players and aim to create a server that we can call home.

 

  • Rates: 15x (vitality is 1.5, 2.0, 2.0, 2.5 so vitality 4 is 37.5x) experience, 26x adena, any spoil or drops that are used on the server will have their own custom drop rate.
  • Players start at level 20 in their racial starting zone. All starting zones have been modified so you may level 20-40 by exploring them and killing the mobs. Upon entering the game you may select free 90-day D grade equipment from the Newbie Merchant.
  • To obtain equipment after your initial starting gear you will need to purchase common C grade. However, for those who have enough adena there will be a C, B, and A grade equipment shop linked to several merchants in main towns.
  • S-grade,S80, and S84 will be obtained by trading materials at a shop (which will drop/spoil in multiple high level zones). We love crafting but feel it would be too difficult if only dwarfs could craft, so we will allow players to trade a custom list of materials for the gear.
  • Noblesse and subclass - I think we are going to sell partial items so you don't have to do the whole quest.
  • NPC Buffer - 1 hour buffs. We all love buffs! The buffer has all the buffs you will need, including buffs for your summon. However, Prophecies, 3rd class dances/songs, dwarf buffs, pet buffs, dance of siren, dance of the vampire, and elemental resist dance/buff may only be obtained by Premium Accounts (which will be available via donation). So regular accounts will get all pre 76 buffs from the npc buffer, with the exception of those pre 76 skills listed above. If you do not wish to donate, feel free to create your own buffer.
  • Donations - Read above about the Premium Account system. We will NOT allow donations for weapons, armor, enchants, or things that you can't earn in-game. We hope that the Premium Account system we created will allow us to minimize donations to only misc items and items that will allow you to keep full vitality for an hour, which will make leveling easier.
  • Gatekeeper - We aren't big fans of a global gatekeeper, thoughts on this?

 

This is all so far, we're still in the very early stages and plan to have much more content. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions and ideas!

 

Updates on gameplay:

  • C, B, and A grade weapons/armor will be free. S grade will cost adena and S80/S84 will use a unique crafting system that uses key materials.
  • [Regular Accounts] Players will receive full vitality and 1 hour vitality replenishing potion once per day, this item is bound to your character. [Premium Accounts] Will receive full vitality and multiple potions per day (we have not yet decided on quantity, maybe 2 or 3).

Imo change donations from buffer to an increase in adena/drops/spoils/exp/sp from normal mobs, shared in party. People don't have so many problems if you make things consume less time for donators, but hate it when they are simply superior in stats. Make it so that people that vote get full vitality or something, too. Maybe even just give vitality items to donators, idk, but I'm not a fan of restricted npc buffs, should be available for everyone, and be sure to include all buffs too if this is the case, no one likes making buffers

 

Don't include custom coins, make S80+ cost a ton of adena and key mats from drops or something, else adena will become useless in no time

 

Could also probably make D-S free/shadow/common whatever, real trading game begins in S80 nowadays, no one cares nor wants to invest in D-S grade

 

Gatekeeper idea will only make you lose time, the RPG element of this game is gone since primeval island, fantasy island, and later on when clown armors were introduced

There needs to be a money sink; having to purchase your gear C grade and up is good for the economy.

 

We are trying to bring back the rpg element into this game. Exploration, multiple hunting zones for the same level, etc.

Anything below S grade would not be a money sink.

 

It would be a frustration magnet.

How often would players sink their adena into C grade? Once per char?

And then realise that they are level 76 wearing C grade cos duh, they sunk their adena into it and shots which they need for 1 hour.

I see your point, I will level a few characters up and see which grades should be free. Thanks!

They are the latest server files and I am trying to make this as bug-free as possible. I would rather use files that have support then use out-dated files with no support.

I think he means that the later the source the buggier it is. Logically it's correct.

In practice it doesn't matter.

 

Earlier sources are likely to have core/functionality problems that are fixed in newer revisions. Newer revisions are likely to miss content.

 

It doesn't matter which you choose.

 

Just consider that high five will be full of rush spam and tanking mages. Deal with that.

I have a college degree in application design and am very experienced with java. If there is a bug i'll try to find a fix or an alternative. Class balancing won't be an issue because we can modify if something is too OP. Just because I am running a Hi5 server doesn't mean I am focusing on the content of Hi5. I'm an old-school player and focus more on the old content, as well as the new. We design the server around our vision of ideal gameplay and the players opinions.

    • You invent yourself a life - bad for you, one of the inner core dev, fernandopm, which worked hard over aCis quests from 2011 to 2016 is argentinian. I teached him back in time to work and make proper quests. My dev team comes from 10+ countries and I'm myself french. "Racist/nationalist" card ? Not working bro.   Not sure why I should thank you to send me questions, and regarding bug reports, so far, I got none of yours in either discord, gitlab, or forums. I'm sorry if you feel "ignored", but that's more a psychanalyst you need to speak with if you put emotions towards someones' appreciation over a forum. I never ignore a bug report, and if so (like skills reports), it's because I got a bigger plan (skills refactor, in that case). In any case, I delivered cookies for the bug report/fix, even if it dated of months, with proper credits over changesets. "Victim card" ? Not really working, but ok, maybe you're "emotional".   I barely make money out of aCis, for the spent time - simply selling my services, or even coding/administrating a minecraft/L2J server would make far more money. Breaking intentionally things would be stupid. If you don't understand I'm not the only one working on that pack, I can't help you. Also, the scale of edits is sometimes extreme - AI L2OFF ? 1800 files added. How do you want everything works in a single shot ? "Exploiting noobz for money" card ? Still not working, or I'm a terrible businessman.   Meanwhile - you shadow advertise your project, L2JOne (since 2017 btw) - you should maybe start by the beginning saying you're a competitor and aCis is actually a spike in your foot. That also explains why you act like that. RusAcis got the exact same strategy, speaking bad of me, saying they got unique fixes (you speak about I break things, they break and recode things 4 times sometimes, btw), but successfully reselling latest revision with poorly executed stuff. "aCis is good, Tryskell is ok, but I solve all issues in extreme low time so I can piss over him" card ? Mmmmhhhh.   Our conversation ends here if you want, I don't force ppl to speak with me if they don't want - hopefully, people would understand I'm not the arrogant one and the one who doesn't want to talk, or even collaborate. :).
