hi all,

not cheats or tricks or other, just a quiet discussion about clan organizations in L2 ... with experienced players on this subject (clan leaders, clanmates of big clan, other of good will ^^...)

my purpose: what is your experience/practice/advice about clan organization specially about items distribution (RB, pvp, pve) for big and active clan ?

1) more simple is the "I obtained it in my inventory, thats for me!" behavior without special collaboration of players.

2) all drops are given to clan leader, and he take it for him (thats suck^^)

3) all drops are given to clan leader (and lieutnants) for choosing the best char to equip with items in the clan ...

3) i heard about tokens distributed to players which participate of RB, or pvp, help other... and players which have more tokens than other may choose item in the clan hall

4) all drops are given to clan leader, and definition of a list of priorities for each clan mate and leader(s) choose...

5)...

in fact i search a way to lead our clan taking into account that it is a >30 active players clan, acting as a big fellowship ;)

plz expalin your response an developp

Clan leaders must help his clan mates ...

CLan leaders must start clans only and ONLY if they can afford everything alone so everything else he does is for the clan mates

Clan leaders must be active and well organized on sieges , raidbosses etc..

Clan leaders must leave ALL drops for THOSE WHO REALLY NEED IT instead of taking them ...

Clan leader shouldn't be greedy!

Clan leader should work only for CLAN and his clan members before he take action in clan wars etc.

Clan leader must be fair with all..

On rbs sieges they party's must be all random and those who doesn't need the items etc SHOULD give them to those who really need !

If a clan leader gets smth in him really special he thinks for the clan before himself.

So... u want to be a clan lider. First of all, a piece of advice. DONT DO IT.

After the warning being made i'll just give u a few tips on how to run a clan.

1 - Democratic clans. A clan in L2 is not democratic. A lider is a lider and he must enforce his will. If players are not happy, they are free to leave. Obviously, if the CL is a fair one, the players wont leave. Keep ur eyes opened and try to understand players needs and try to satisfy them but make perfectly clear that YOU ARE the lider and your word is final. This a very important issue. If u let players do what they want ur clan will fail.

2 - Drops. Drops are usually a tricky situation because some players might not agree with the way they are being distributed. First of all, everytime u recruit someone new make ABSOLUTELY sure he understands the drop distribution rules. If the new players doesnt agree with them, dont recruit him. From my experience, things work rather fine under the following rules:

- All drops from regular raid bosses are random distributed for the ppl that went to that RB. This means that if 2 parties were at the RB, throw a dice to decide what party gets the item and redrop it.

- All drops from major bosses must go to clan hall. AND I MEAN ALL DROPS, NOT JUST BOSS JEWELS. These drops will be distributed to players according to their needs. If one of ur players drops a piece of equip and he cant afford to get a new one, u should try to give him one from those drops.

- Boss Jewels are distributed according to the importance of the player inside the clan. MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that no one recives the same boss jewels 2 times. The importance of a player is mesured by the time that player is in clan, time he spends logged in, time he spends helping clan mates, sieges and pvps he attends to, etc.

IF AN ARGUMENT ARISES BECAUSE OF DROPS, REMEMBER TOPIC NR 1. UR WORD IS FINAL.

3 - Politics. This is an issue of the most importance. If u cant dialog with other clan liders that forget the idea of being a CL. I will fail. No clan can survive and prosper in L2 without politics. Pick ur enemys carfull and your friends even carfully.

Good luck.

PS: Enforce Team-Speak or Ventrillo to ALL ur clan members.

thanks to u  :P

in fact i am clan leader of a clan since 2 years and all were fine; with a low number of players acting as a friend community. Due to several changes, we are now growing fast as hell and then it it neccessary to put in place some laws and regulations due to the high number of newcomers.

we are using TS and a forum, thus i assume that we have the potential for a good organization... and with near lieutnants we are considering rules for drop specially (we had yet put in place rules for craft, 3 class, spoil, golky hunt...).

btw i note that you both speak about the idea to take all drops for providing to chars which have a real need; and of course i think that it is the best way for the future of the clan ^^

but more precisely how do u manage the item redistribution ?

(plz add to the list if necessary)

- ofc taking into account class & level

- help in priority players which are active into the clan (time that player is in clan, loggin' time, help other, present in sieges, clan event, pvp, our internal pvp tournament, help to spoil ...); but i think that there are other criteria ??!

- each players write a wish list ???? or only at the will of leader ?

- is it good to put in place a poll ?

- specially it is hard to compare 2 players in term of what is the more active without more definition...

- ....

Be very carefull with who u recruit. Best method i've seen so far was used in a clan from a friend. Candidates were given TS password and played with clan ppl for around 1 or 2 weeks. Then a meeting would take place with the most influent clan members and a decision was made about if the new guy was ok or not. I never saw this in any other clan but its the best method i've ever seen.

Yep, forum is important too. Post the clan rules there. Any political decisions should be posted there too (new frienships, eventual alliances, etc.).

BTW, golky hunt??? DNET FTW :D Just curious, what server do u play?

Well, this is the tricky part. Imagine ur clan has around 60 players. You will need to surround yourself with 4 or 5 that you trust most. Those players will have the responsabily to adivise you in ur decisions (remember that YOU are the lider so its always ur call). Pick players that usually play alot and at diferent times. Their task is to permenantly evaluate player attitudes. They should know the players as well as you and should have a pretty good ideia about wich ones have more potential. Obviously u cant give a valakas or an antharas to a guy that entered the clan last week. Makes no sense. So, just deliver the most important items to the guys that deserve them. Ur advisors may help u picking the top players.

A wish list is an ideia but i'll sugest u dont just give what a player wants. I'll give u an example. A mage needs an AM+ACU and he add it to the wish list. Make a deal with him. If he gets de AM, the clan will provide the cristal or vice-versa. This estimulates the players to work.

If u have 2 important players and only one item to deliver just do it randomly and (DO NOT FORGET THIS PART) talk to the one that didnt get the item. Explain him that if the clan gets another similar item he will 100% get it. Its very important to give the players the sensation that u care about them (even if u dont :P). A demotivated player is useless in a clan.

Depending on the clan, sieges are very important. If u have the ambition of getting a nice castle then you will need a nice alliance (or an incredible amount of luck). You will only get into a top alliance if u go to sieges and pvp alot. No other way. No ally lider will invite ur clan just because u have a cool crest. Work for it. Force ur members to learn how to pvp. If ur clan is pvping then everyone must be there. No excuses allowed (exept camping bosses for nobless or w/e because that quest can be a pain in the ass :P).

Top of all, i think the biggest secret is knowing what ur players need before they ask u. Thats the hardest mission a CL has. Thats why i told u, being a clan lider sucks. :P

Good luck.

nice discussion; and very interesting ^^

concerning recruitment, forum presentation and TS are compulsory and help us to consider nex player and his future in our clan ("do not ask what the clan may do for you, but think about what you can do for the clan" blablbla ^^)

yep i have advisors for helping me in the leadership of the clan; nothing could be possible without their knowledge, skills and devotion  ;)

agree for your upgraded idea of wishing list. and we will also add on the forum the drop list with main items for a perfect transparency.

concerning knowledge of player needs that u mentioned, i usually check it one time by week with one player in private discussion...

chipmix i appreciate that your vision of clan is a good mix of strong but open CL and fraternity behavior; that in this direction that we want to go...

yep being clan leader sucks a bit  ;D

Ohh and just 2 more notes that poped into my mind.

Sometimes, a player camps a raid boss like ant queen or zaken or w/e. If he's camping it for a long time and calls the clan to help, consider that its quite unfair if the item goes to someone else.

Also consider having a few items reserved in case a clan mate drops smth in a clan activity. Typicaly in a pvp sometimes it happens a guy getting pk. If he's a responsable player he wont have more than 5 but sometimes it happens if its a pk spree (happens alot on raid boss farming). If he gets killed and loses an item, it would be nice if the clan can provide him with a substitute.

Good luck on ur task. BTW, u didnt told me what server u play.

This thread is good for make a big discussion :) i will join later cause i have to go now.Btw i think leader is not the most important thing in clan.Ppl should care by them selves too.Good clan  is when it's full of you're friends. Then it's really fun to play.

yep but difficulties begin when a lot of new comers are introduced in the clan and to find a best way to do not make a wall between friends and newcomer and to integrate both ... thats the essense of my answer ^^

If you have clan your members should be trustful one's not some that are randoms thats my opinion.

    • Update M54: Global HP/MP/CP consumable handling expanded beyond combat-only usage. Offensive mage idle recovery with learned skill Battle Heal. Spellhowler/Storm Screamer prioritizes Hurricane, using Vampiric Claw mostly below 90% HP. Major structural refactor initialized: Added category/class organization such as Archer, Dagger, Tank, Mage, Healer, Support and Specialized class files. Further structural cleanup. Extracted combat memory/state and more class-policy logic from the main controller. Added global stuck/inactivity watchdog for bots blocked by terrain/geodata. Added unreachable dropped ground-item timeout/temporary blacklist. Reworked Necromancer/Soultaker PvP: Dominator level 78+ maintains learned Arcane Power toggle on. Overlord/Dominator level 44+ maintains learned Soul Guard toggle automatically. Stability/scalability update: Bot controller ticks staggered instead of all starting in the same phase: Same 350 ms update rate retained Reduces simultaneous AI workload bursts. Removed the old manual aggressive-monster EVT_AGGRESSION bridge. Phantoms now use native Lucera setActive() behavior so monsters aggro them naturally. Reduced unnecessary NPC scans and native AI event pressure. Added saved-bot equipment overrides using a separate database table:         lucera_autobots_items Existing lucera_autobots remains the main saved-bot identity/state table. Equipment rows are linked to saved bots through bot_id. Added optional convenience view to show bot name together with equipment overrides:         lucera_autobots_items_view Added editable equipment slots in columns: Weapon Shield Helmet Chest Legs Gloves Boots Necklace Left/Right Earrings Left/Right Rings Equipment override values: 0 = use normal class/level profile item -1 = force slot empty >0 = equip that Item ID Custom equipment works only for saved database bots. Default class/level equipment profiles remain unchanged. Supports custom equipment from No Grade to S Grade, regardless of the bot's current level. Added validation for invalid item IDs and incompatible equipment slots. Added handling for: Two-handed weapons vs shields Full-body armor vs separate leggings Added all-grade Soulshots and Spiritshots to bot inventory/replenishment so custom lower-grade weapons still use the correct shots. Mage profiles that already use Blessed Spiritshots keep that behavior with all relevant grades available. First save the bot normally so it exists in table:         lucera_autobots Then open:         lucera_autobots_items Find the row with the same bot_id and edit only the equipment slots you want. Example: weapon_id = 6608 shield_id = -1 helmet_id = 0 chest_id = 0 legs_id = 0 gloves_id = 0 boots_id = 0 This means: weapon_id 6608 → custom weapon shield_id -1 → no shield all 0 values → keep normal default profile equipment After editing the DB, despawn and respawn the saved bot so M54 reloads its equipment overrides. Do not edit bot_id. Use it only to identify which saved bot the equipment row belongs to.   DOWNLOAD
