[ Your opinion about a desktop ] (reward included)

Hey!

I'm planning to buy a new desktop, and even if my budget is not more than 700-750 euros, I've managed to build something good. I want you to see the specs I've chosen and tell me if it's ok, or if I need to change a part/some parts. I want to use the desktop for:

- Gaming (not tough gaming though. I play games like cs 1.6, lol, so gtfo -.-)

- Programming (assembly, c, java etc..)

- Storage (I have one 1TB external drive, so I won't need more space, in case you thought about it.)

- I want fast processing, something that an SSD might could help for, but they're expensive and with the current build they're staying out of my budget, I think)

So, the build:

(forgot to say, that prices are from Greece, where I live, so, if you want to suggest me a new part, then you might want to check its price in Greece)

Case : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/PC-Cases/Xigmatek-Midgard-Case-CPC-T55DB-U01.htm

Power Suply : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/PSU/CoolerMaster-Silent-Pro-M850-RS-850-AMBA-J3-850W-Modular-PSU.htm

CPU : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/CPU/Intel-Core-i5-650-1156-3-20GHz-Cache-4MB-Box-BX80616I5650.htm

Cooler : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/CPU-Coolers/CoolerMaster-Hyper-TX3-Cpu-Cooler-RR-910-HTX3-GP.htm

MOBO : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/Motherboards/Gigabyte-H55-M-S2-s1156-H55-DDR3-GAH55MS2-00-G13.htm (This is the motherboard -.-)

RAM : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/RAM/Corsair-XMS-4GB-DDR3-1600-Intel-Core-i5-i7-Ram-Kit-2-x-2GB-PC3-12800-9-9-9-24.htm

HDD : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/Hard-Disk-Drives/Western-Digital-Caviar-Blue-WD5000AAKX-500GB-HDD-3-5inches-16MB-Cache-7200RPM-Sata-6G.htm

(I've chosen WD Caviar series just for its low price and fast speed)

GPU (Graphic Card) : http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/SVGA/TwinTech-GT-440-PCI-Express-GDDR5-1GB-TT-GT440-1GD5E-HDMI.htm

And that's all!

If you do want to suggest me a part, or even a new build it would be great. Maybe it's ok for my needs, but there's a chance I find something better within my budget (700-750euros) which is what I want you guys to tell me. If you help me on this, I would reward you with +1 karma. Spam replies will be deleted, spammers will be punished.

I'm looking forward for your answers :)

Thanks in advance

Blane

Let's see

totally agree with GPU/Motherboard/RAM and case ;)

Cooler isn't needed,at all

I would suggest a 4 core i5(like 760 or even the new technology ones,such os i5 2500k (click me!

(this should need an other motherboard too, similar with what u showed us)

Giving 155Euro for supply is kinda A LOT.

Let me give you my recommendation

CPU: http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/CPU/Intel-Core-i7-2600K-s1155-3-40GHz-8MB-BX80623I72600K.htm  -The best CPU in market,imo(i7 4 core 8 threads)

Motherboard: http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/Motherboards/Foxconn-H67M-V-s1155-DDR3-H67-H67M-V.htm

Supply: http://www.plaisio.gr/Computers/Hardware/PSU/Corsair-Gaming-Series-GS700-700W-PSU-80plus-Certified-CMPSU-700GEU-CMPSU-700GEU.htm

Cooler: What you posted

Case: Maybe a cheaper :)

GPU: What you posted

HDD: Same

RAM: Same

Note:I will check prices right now

These parts, can go some years without serious upgrades.Since you got a very powerful CPU to handle EVERY need of you

And final price,with what i suggested you,is 742

buy a SSD next year and you got one of the more powerful PCs xd

Hi blane , my friend. I can see clearly your selected parts are obvious great! Personally i think any change would be useless.  :D

The CPU you're talking about is way more expensive than the one I selected. Even if I lower the price of the power supply to the one you showed me, the price stays a bit high. Don't you think that with the i5 model, I can work flawlessly?

i5 without Hyperthreading(a big - to this) will be useless in some time

Still, the price is at 742 euros, which are good, for a machine that will be GOOD for some years.

4 core and 8 threads,WITH Huperthreading

So,in your PC you have:

A supply of 160 euro 800 watt

CPU with 2 cores 4 threads

In my PC i have:

A supply of 110 euro 700 watt

CPU with 4 cores 8 threads

and don't forget that we are talking about I7 2500,totally new techonology,32 mn etc

You can't have a 2core PC in 2011

well the parts not really match(the mobo is shit)

but if you keep it like that i would switch the case to:

Check my mobo. [updated]

Also a i7 would rock it worths and the last cent.

I've seen intreprid had the same ideea like me about the case :)

I've checked that, but I need to stay within the budget I talked about. (worked hard to get the money :P)

This CPU you linked me,has no Hyperthreading

as i told above,it's a big disadvantage

Since you can get a PC with Hyperthread(which is important) ,especially an i7 with your budget, why not doing it?

but i don't say what this cpu isn't good,it's perfect for now

about case,i agree with Intrepid

About SSD,don't do it now,you will be able to buy one soon really cheap!

Don't think like that.

You will need to buy a new CPU in your next upgrade, then!

And you know, among with CPU you must change the whole package xd

and this CPU i gave you really really worths it's 90 euro extra, which still don't make the budget exceed 760-800 at any way!

You said arround 700 or 800 with my mobo, cpu and case you cant reach the 700-800 budget.

With the remaining moneys you can buy a hard, ram, power suply the cooler isnt needed the case is AWESOME.

I forgot to ask the Video Card ?
