nope, you dont need to play dao to play da2 bioware lets you import your character from "dao" to "da awakening", once you finish dao and da awakening you can import your storyline to da2, but not your character.

nah, its quite simple, you have a gun that shots portals, you enter one and you go out the other. you use the portals to explore the "Aperture Science Labs" and that's it >_>
