While we're on the topic of progression, although not Lineage 3 worthy in my humble opinion, let's cover another useful feature we implemented into INERA: the system message editor. There are many different types of players, the professionals, the new school, old school, and the die hard fans. A lot of the latter types of players prefer to use their own interface or system message setup, but a lot of servers nowadays are making it harder and harder for you to edit the client. At INERA, we have quite a few security checks to prevent tampering with our client setup. This is mostly for consistency reasons as we develop and implement a lot of new and custom UIs, often from a quality of life perspective. One such feature is the system message editor. We wanted to give you the freedom to modify parts of the client that you may have grown accustomed to editing, so we needed to build you a set of tools to do so from within the game. An example of this is our damage meter, which we covered earlier. The system message editor is basically an interface to change your preference for the system messages, similar to how one would do so by editing the sysemmessage.dat file - client side. Our server comes with a predefined scheme that is quite unique and user-friendly, but we know that some players may have grown accustomed to their own style of system messages. So we've given you the interface to change it from within the game, save different schemes for different situations and change the style whenever you want. You no longer need to edit the core file. Just edit it from within the game and pick your favourite scheme depending on your mood or style of play. Enjoy.

  4. Now then I thought I'd take some time every few days to go into some more detail about our features. Today I'll spend some time on the auto-shot system, designed by our team and implemented as a quality of life mechanic. The concept was to automatically detect the type of grade of weapon and apply the necessary shots without resorting to right clicking or activating them through some other means. This was especially apparent in Olympiad type situations, we've all been there, forgot to activate your shots and lost the match, it's an old story indeed. More importantly, certain classes like to fast-swap weapons, they tend to need to activate the shots for each different grade. This becomes applicable for SOES BTB application or quick-swapping bows. Having different grade equipment will consume slots on the hotbar for these shots, something unnecessary in our humble opinion. So our system detects your grade, applies the necessary shot, provided it is in your inventory, and automatically activates both soul shot and spirit shots for your convenience. Just make sure to buy the shots. :) I'll be covering a variety of our features, some are listed on the opening post, whereas others have yet to be revealed to the community as a whole. Certainly let us know what you think about this Season.

  9. I happened to catch this and I genuinely thought it was a very nice read. Was simply looking for our old thread and stumbled on your collection of thoughts. Simply put, a lot of your frustration resides with the equilibrium that exists between budget, development, talent, patience, and time. We could certainly have a great conversation on the topic one day, should you be interested. I think the most important of them all, however, is the willingness to learn and progress further than before. Mistakes happen, the key is to rectify them and continue to develop until someone like yourself can say, "Damn that was a brilliant project. The memories...." We spent the past year doing just that.   10. That's because Epilogue packs are mostly terrible. Even the L2-Scripts Epilogue sources are terrible, not worth a penny. We have chosen Epilogue as our primary chronicle and 2 years of debugging and since our launch combined we've fixed well over 2500+ bugs. I don't blame this team, they chose an L2J pack that is incomplete (assuming L2J, since those issues shouldn't exist on an official pack). Should stick with H5 or something that has had time to be worked on by various teams from around the world. And if you're not going to modify the game heavily, I see no reason to use L2J. You simply bit off more than you can chew.

  13. Interesting concept. Perhaps one could consider to make the potion regenerate mana over a duration. For example, 100 mana per second over a duration of 15 seconds. This would regenerate 1500 mp in total but prevents the user from having to continuously click the pot or use an auto-clicker. It should also maintain the balance you seek by limiting the exploitation of mana regeneration and, as you put it, spam chain heal.
  14. It never hurts to try. The x18 is the starting value for the experience. You would need to read through all our features. I'm pressed for time, but briefly, players have control over the server is broken up into 10 different stages, in a sense, they can upgrade the world through these stages using currency they obtain from farming and pvp oriented battles. The rates will scale with how eager players are to upgrade the server. This may or may not help with your rate issue. -Vice
