Seems now every day a kid will take a website template somewhere, a dedicated server in OVH and think he will be able to provide DoS/DDoS mitigation services now. Come on, people don't need your services, because they can get a dedicated server directly in the same place. Unless you can really provide a different service. In this case you wouldn't copy someone else website... Everyone that starts something this way, shows exactly how he doesn't know 'anything' about the business he is getting in...

If it is to buy a stupid OVH server, just buy directly from it, if it is not available in france, you can get it in canada at least.

You are correct, it is better to move directly to L2OFF instead trying to request something which requires a lot of handwork to be done.

If you want a 'developer' and not somebody that 'entitles itself' as a 'developer', then you surely need to pay the correct pricing. Developers earn a good salary, specially the ones that are skilled with reverse engineering knowledge. We are roughly speaking about something like : U$$ 8000.00~15.000 a month, (Not speaking about L2, but this is how such handwork is valued for companies that look for it).

If I get the correct idea, you want to calibrate all the L2J Class Formulas to match L2 OFF specifications, this is a work for at least 3~6 months of analysis ;).

Good luck finding someone with all this time available just to help a private server :), this is a work that would cost you something around U$$ 100.00+ per hour, considering all the analysis work behind that.

It happened here, because this forum, does have a DoS/DDoS protection, while the many others you are going to, doesn't :).

You are trying to convince me a private server, that doesn't even have the ownership rights for the game they are running are a serious project ? You must be kidding. I am speaking about legit companies, that does exist in the commerce chamber of their countries, pay their fees and employ people, not about a game server. Companies which 'are serious' and want a trustable business, that won't fail in unexpected times due to bad management of the network or lack of good professionals or even fast support, will quickly avoid OVH. Now back to the "Private Server / Piracy" stuff : Forget L2Tales, they are not a reference, if you want at least to have some reference, you could look for example Dexternet... they have much more budget than L2Tales, have their own dedicated servers in their own datacenter (the owner of dexternet, does have its own small datacenter in romania) http://www.lineage2dex.com Anyways, this is just my opinion, if you don't want to consider it, this is fine :), Go on with whatever you think will be better for you. By the way, this is the 'cheap server' with 16GB you will get in OVH : This is what you 'can get' somewhere else with a better budget and some 'experience' on what you are doing :

You need to research a little, before you buy something. OVH have the cheapest prices of the market, but they lack support, their network is not stable, their bandwidth is not premium (It doesn't have first priority on backbone, neither have the best latency, although it is not that bad). However, If you don't have the budget for anything better, go for it, there won't be anything else possible... But in fact, OVH shouldn't be considered for any serious projects, try to find any mid sized company, that uses OVH Servers in production, and you will not find many of them, you can find starters, because it is cheap, but once you need something 'serious', you have to move. So, don't expect 'players' to accept problems because they will not. If you can do better, then take your opportunity to do it in first time.

This is true, maxcheaters is a discussion forum, so it doesn't have anything to do with its member attitudes, unless, their actions are against the forum rules. If this is not violating any current rule of the forum, then there is nothing that can be done. Also, I must add, that if you have any issue with someone, it is your own responsibility to deal with it, nobody else will do it for you.

Quality increase is always better :), price increases are fine, because if the quality is rising, then obviously the costs are also rising. Better stability, better hardware, support personnel all this have costs to be covered, so it is understandable. Will you think about moving the webhosting stuff in future to the same structure too ? It seems for now, you have only the TCP Protection there right ? (If I am wrong, feel free to correct me).

This is a L2OFF forum, so I suppose, navicat and port 9014 are not necessary in L2OFF... Use the SQL Studio and check your lin2db table, you must have the correct WAN IP in the server table.
