Dev Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Post here the stats for a dedicated machine that can afford 500 to 600 players without lag. RAM GB = ? Hardware Disk = ? Uppload Connection =? CPU =? And in what exactly needs CPU ? windows simple ones NOT linux. And all the other stats you believe it does need.
PwNNNz0r.^ Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 RAM : 16GB Hardware: more then 300GB Conn: 1gbps All this to be sure will held a lot of ppl w/o lag.. Anyway why did u pu [Quest] in title?
mmytza Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Anyway why did u pu [Quest] in title? maybe [Quest] is for Question
ucko1991 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 RAM GB = Minimun 10GB DDR3 Hardware Disk = min 300-400GB Uppload Connection = 1 GBp/s CPU = Intel® Core™ i7 Processor With faster, intelligent, multi-core technology that applies processing power where it's needed most, Intel® Core™ i7 processors deliver an incredible breakthrough in PC performance. They are the best desktop processor family on the planet¹. You'll multitask applications faster and unleash incredible digital media creation. And you'll experience maximum performance for everything you do, thanks to the combination of Intel® Turbo Boost technology² and Intel® Hyper-Threading technology (Intel® HT technology)³, which maximizes performance to match your workload. OS: Linux/Ubunto/Xubunto Server Edition nvm just must be from that version... not XP/win7/ sh*ts like that.. and never play from Server Pc
rebelstrik Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 OS the guy asked for windows os, not linux. so any win server 2005/2008 64 bit will be fine. but the question remains what does HeRaCleS ment with simple ones? xp/vista/win7? xp is a no no, without a workaround u wont be able to use more than 3gb ram which means u wont be able to handle 500-600 players. vista was fail since the begining. and win7? why on earth would somebody launch an server on that os? just use windows server edition for l2 off. for l2j its better to use specific linux distros (like redhat). ok now the hardware CPU = Intel® Core™ i7 Processor With faster, intelligent, multi-core technology that applies processing power where it's needed most, Intel® Core™ i7 processors deliver an incredible breakthrough in PC performance. They are the best desktop processor family on the planet¹. ucko1991, before u pray ur god (i7) please read again what u have copypasted (the bolded part). for the topic starter i suggest to get some server machine with dual xeon/opteron processors (higher than 3ghz) and something like 8 gb ram at the begining. ofc if u got money can go on more, but i wouldnt suggest u to hurry that much. for hdd 2x 146GB Ultra320 SCSI (10k rpm) should do the job. connection and y, i agree to others who sugested you to get 1gbps upload connection.
