karthus is for newbs when he uses his ulti to ks ONLY...a proper karthus always inform about his ulti cd and pro karthuses use their ulti whenever they see a fleeing enemy champ(that cant be reached by allied skills) or when asked....additionally karthus has NO stun, his mana drain is insane and his main skill needs practise. so he is not for newbies that much...\

It's not bad to use your ulti to ks. 1 kill + 1 assist > 1 kill @ TEAM gold.

Karthus is one of the best AP carries in the game so he should try and get kills even if they are KS.

 

If you watched CLG (Best US team) vs TIC (One of the best EU teams) 2 days ago, you should have noticed that TIC's Karthus used his ult from top to KS or at least get assists from fights at other lanes, even if his ulti was not needed for the fight.
