[Guide] How to make your own LoL skins | For Beginners

Heyaz. Sup sup?

Well, today I will show you how to make your own skins, it's a simple process.

 

What we'll need.

 

[*] Image editor (Photoshop or Gimp for example)

[*] .dds converter (Rapidshare / Megaupload)

So, let's start.

 

1. Run the .dds convertre (Dxtbmp).

2. Drug and drop a .dds skin into the program (I will explain later how to find them).

It should look like that:

 

3. Now go to: File>Save as>24 bit BMP Image and save it somewhere.

4. Now have to run the image editor you wish, open the .bmp we saved and edit it however we want.

I will use Photoshop CS5 Portable.

 

After a fast edit it looks like that:

 

5. Save the image in .bmp

6. Open it with Dxtbmp.

7. Go: File>Save as> DDS Texture.

 

Our skins is ready for use.

Now, I will tell you where you can find the .dds files.

 

1. Go to your LoL folder, for me it's:

C:\Program Files\League of Legends

 

2. Open the folder named "Game".

3. You will find a .zip named "HeroPak_client.zip".

4. Extract it.

5. Go to: Data>Chatacters.

 

There you will find folders for every hero of LoL. In these folders are the .dds files.

It's client side. Well, I don't care for the others. I love playing with custom skins even if I'm the only one who can see them.

For beginners . make a good UV mapper pro there you can test your skins look like

use more details at skill not just changing the colour lol.
