Probably you're on NTFS.

in previous format i did a partition(via windows)

i have installed ubuntu in D:/ but i can see only C:/

Windows can only be installed on NTFS. That doesn't mean linux can't read that partition.

 

@Finito, if you could tell me the result of "sudo fdisk -l" maybe I could help you.
