Elemental Attribute Types and Relations

There are four types of elemental attributes and two types of holy-unholy attributes, as well as a non-attribute. Each attribute has an opposite, as follows:

* Fire Attribute <--> Water Attribute

* Earth Attribute <--> Wind Attribute

* Darkness Attribute <--> Divinity Attribute

Attack damage depends on the difference between the value of the attack’s attribute and that of the defense’s attribute.

Bestowing an Attribute

Attributes can be bestowed to items that are S-grade or higher.

An item may have only one attribute type added to it at a time.

In order to add a new attribute to an attribute-bestowed item, the Attribute Master NPC in Aden and Rune must cancel the original attribute first (there is a fee associated with this). Once the original attribute has been removed from an item, a new attribute may be applied.

Each armor piece (excluding shields) can have different attributes applied to them.

A player’s attribute values are shown in Character Status Window (Alt+T).

In order to bestow an attribute to an item, an attribute item is required. Players can acquire attribute items in new high-level hunting grounds (like Isle of Prayer and Hellbound).

An attribute on a weapon increases the attack power of that attribute. On the other hand, an attribute on armor increases the defense power of the opposite attribute. For example, a water-attribute stone increases armor's fire resistance.

When bestowing attributes to items, there is a chance to fail; however, the failure will not crystallize items nor reset the previous attribute value.

Players may trade a attribute stones for a opposite-attribute stones at an Attribute NPC.

For weapons, only two attribute powers can be stacked--the weapon's attribute power and a buff's attribute power. If a weapon's attribute type and a buff's attribute type are the same, the weapon will gain a stronger attack power of that attribute type. If the weapon's attribute type and buff's attribute type are different, only the weapon's attribute will be applied. For armor, all defense-related attribute buffs will be applied to that of armor.

Attribute Potion

An attribute potion can be purchased from an Attribute NPC in Aden and Rune Castle Town.

---

The amount of attribute applied on your weapon, does not mean that exact same amount as % on increased damage.

On physical hits (normal arrows, sword/blunt/dual/dagger swings) a weapon attributed with 150 element of any kind, deals about 78% more damage on a non resistant target than with no attribute applied on your weapon.

The increase in damage is different on nukes though, don't remember how much.

First of all, you have to finish your 3rd class quest in order to enchant a skill and apply a certain elemental attribute - so the Treasure Hunter of your example needs to be an Adventurer actually.

Let's assume that the adventurer of your example attributes his dagger 150 earth, that alone will not change his damage output at all. In order to boost your damage, you will need to enchant your backstab to +1 (or more) Earth.

The only time enchanting a skill for an element does anything significant is when it doesn't already have an element and it's for damage. For example:

In the case of non elemental skills:

1. Deadly Blow has no element. If you have a 150 Fire dagger, it doesn't do anything because the skill is non elemental.

2. Let's say you enchant your DB for Fire +1. Alright, now your Deadly Blow has 1 attribute fire on it. It still doesn't do crap.

3. Now you have Deadly Blow +1 Fire ~and~ a 150 Fire dagger. Now, you do absurd damage because the skill has 151 element fire on it.

4. Now you're like HOLY SHIT AWESOME DAMAGE so you take the fire Deadly Blow to +9. Do you see a damage difference? No. Your Deadly Blow has gone from 151 element fire to 159 element fire. Yeah it increases the damage. No, it doesn't increase the damage in any appreciable way.

In the case of elemental skills:

5. Tribunal is already (I think 20) Holy element. If you have a 150 Holy Sword, you do holy crap damage. No enchanting required. Your holy attack with tribunal is 170 (or 180 w/HB toggle)

6. Let's say you enchant your Tribunal for Holy +1. Alright, now your Tribunal has 21 Holy (31 w/HB) on it. The increase isn't noticeable.

7. Now you have +1 Tribunal holy ~and~ a 150 Holy Sword. Yes, you absolutely do holy crap damage. But that's because of your sword, not because of the enchant. Your holy attack with the skill is 171 (which is capped at 170 unless the target has holy resist buffs). This doesn't even consider the toggle holy blade which already caps off the damage and normally you would only need a 140 Holy Sword for capped damage in olympiad.

8. Now you take it to +9. Alright, now you're at 179. Still capped and pretty much the same exact damage as #5.

This has been documented all over the place, on blah, official forums, and I've confirmed it in-game. All I'm getting out of this thread is either "yeah! it does noticeable damage because I'm ignoring the fact that it's my sword causing it and not the enchant!" or "I know a guy who knows a guy who says it's teh 1337z0rs".

If the target has "Resist Wind" buffed, we assume 3 cases:

a) a "surrender to wind" would pretty much be the same with

b) the nuker having "Seed of wind" selfbuffed, and

c) both a) and b) would increase the damage

you can't decrease your target's resistance to values lower than 0.

i don't think its useless a thread like this.

Lots of people in Help section asks about stones, and this will clear things up.

Good share, even if it's a c/p.

    • For the odbc you have to run the Instalador.exe and click crear dsn, but you have to rename them so the lin2clancomm.dsn for example becomes l2c4_lin2clancomm but also check if the file inside has as database value the correct file name, about the client i also wanted a clean client because i had a problem with the monsters because the character didn't have collision with the monsters and he was running through them but i fixed it with files from a normal interlude client, also my client is now c3 😛 i changed the maps, staticmeshes, systextures so now i do not have the fortresses at antharas lair for example but i also have the c3 sounds and login screen. • I really wonder if they launched the server without testing it even once. All players are creating new characters and transferring the level 20 reward to their main ones. It seems banning people is much easier than sending them a direct message in-game. If you can’t do your job properly, get in touch with people who can help you. I made 17 million in 10 minutes on a 1x Adena rate server and got an Icarus weapon. My suggestion to you — as it's written on the character you banned — is to wipe the server and run a proper OBT. Good luck with your time as administrators; although it doesn't look like it will last very long.
